you should have no problems ... you can record Helix through the MD-20 if it works perfectly with XP... and I may be wrong but pretty sure any DAW or plugin that works in XP will still work in WIN 7 or 10... problems occur when you try to mix 32 and 64 bit apps...
-
only a couple more to go...
-
Wtf??? I refuse to budge from XP... My DAW works flawlessly with XP and I don't plan on ever upgrading, which would require a whole new build. I better at least be able to update the Helix firmware on my machine or I will be some pissed.

9-11-15 ???? Is this date still the ETA of the Helix
radatats replied to jaminjimlp's topic in Helix
Concur. Jason from Sweetwater says they are due in Oct 5 and I will receive mine from the first batch 2-3 business days later. WOOT! :D -
Flextone II - Got my wires crossed...
radatats replied to danmax's topic in Flextone I / II / III / Duoverb / HD147
probably a loose connection somewhere or a cold solder joint. You probably put it right during the cleaning but it may resurface. In the mean time, enjoy! It's still a great amp! I actually wish I had one of those for my HD500 and soon Helix... -
that will probably work too. I forgot I set mine up that way because I use a JTV-69 with the VDI connection...

there have been tons of questions over the years about where to put your pedals and how to get the best tone. Everyone always references gain staging as the most important piece of the equation. Well the video below is probably one of the best I have ever seen explaining how gain staging works, what to look for, where to place pedals, etc... a bit long but definitely worth the watch!

Volume Pedal location in patch? Front, back, middle, none.
radatats replied to Indianrock2020's topic in POD HD
With the POD, for what you want, strictly volume level, I believe you are doing it right putting it at the end of the chain. Anywhere earlier has the potential to overdrive an FX or amp block or change your tone. -
yes, you can record the Trio beats through the POD. Pretty awesome pedal right? FYI, I set mine up with a dual amp patch. I run all my guitar signal through path A with a full amp model. In path B I use a preamp model to feed a clean signal to the Trio through the FX Loop. On the Trio put a dummy jack in the Amp output and feed the Mixer output back to the FX Return. Put a reverb block after that to add a little depth to your drums and bass. Put the mixer as the very last thing in the chain and center both channels. Sounds great! Would like to have success beyond the Vox A-30 TB
radatats replied to Indianrock2020's topic in POD HD
Yep, well documented and thoroughly bitched about for years... but as in real life, some amps are louder than others. Best bet is to set up your system's gain stages to get your quietest amp model to the volume you want without unwanted distortion and turn the louder amp models down to match overall levels. Otherwise you end up overdriving your quieter amps trying to keep up... -

lollipop yeah! and I just got a customer for my HD500/DT25 today so everything is right on track! -
PartsExpress.com is a great source for various audio gear and cabinet supplies. Check the link below for options. 12" Pro Woofers, 4ohm, 2-500 Watts

finally made it up to the big boys!
-
the above advice is good but don't overlook the little gems like the Gibtone 185 or the Super O. Play around with different cabs and mics and you can get superb tones from them...

I have a DT-25 head and built my own matching 1X12 cab. I already have Celestion V-30 and Eminence Guv'nors. The Celestion is fine but the Guv'nor blows it away. Fuller, more definition, not as directional as the V-30. IMHO...

Best cable for Line 6 link between HD500x and DT25
radatats replied to patrick2099's topic in DT50 / DT25
There really is no difference in how they work since its a digital signal, it either passes or it doesn't. Not like an audio signal that can be slightly degraded or not fully passed. The main differences you should look for are in build quality which may affect durability rather than signal quality. -
I ordered mine in June with 36 mo no interest from Sweetwater. No better deal out there. My rep says end September, beginning October for delivery as of yesterday. I suspect there were a LOT of pre-orders and some folks just won't get the first batch...

Try this patch which gives 4CM with no FX Loop. Guitar > POD Guitar in > POD Left 1/4 out > Amp in > Amp FX Send > POD AUX in > POD Right 1/4 out > Amp FX Return Keep the volume down to make sure you have no feedback and use the mixer to set levels before adding FX. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/1186833/

or you can zip all four patches and attach the zip file here. Also interested. Don't worry, nobody is going to bash your work.

should be perfectly safe. Make sure you choose the correct impedance on the DT and as you said, avoid full blast...

Trying to use tones from Pod HD on Flextone II XL
radatats replied to WeedMonkey's topic in Tone Discussion
UPDATE - Line 6 Edit works too. When you start it asks you to connect and select your device. I have no devices to select so I click ADD and pick Flextone II and OFFLINE mode. It adds the Flextone to the list and pops up the connection screen again. Cancel that and Edit is up and running. Find your tones and do what you gotta do... -
Trying to use tones from Pod HD on Flextone II XL
radatats replied to WeedMonkey's topic in Tone Discussion
yeah, useless trying to dial in HD tones for a Flextone. Try loading the Gearbox software but do not install the drivers. Gearbox runs on my Win7 laptop with no gear installed and reads .l6t files. However, any tones built using addon packs won't open unless you also have that pack installed. Instead it loads a similar default amp/effect that you can try out. -
wow, I would have expected that to be standard... what about updating my JTV through the Helix with Monkey?
