  1. pre 2.0 workbench won't work with post 2.0 guitars... FYI if you have 2.0 firmware on the guitar you need workbench HD
  2. yes they can be used for Bass. there is a very limited amount of bass specific models.. but the guitar models can be made to work.
  3. Space wrote the manual on the bean 4CM here: http://line6.com/support/message/331054 :)
  4. custom tone doesn't support those types of files (never did with the original variax either) the link is a user provided work around. i believe that a similar fix was done and put on the forums here: http://line6.com/support/topic/2014-now-available-variax-hd-upgrade-and-workbench-hd-software/page-16?do=findComment&comment=13203
  5. i use the external pedalboard on the desktop/pro because you can't access the looper of change tones on the fly without it. the desktop that i have also doesn't get much use because i like the L6Link and Variax input on the others. (not to mention midi, and fx loop) I'm certain that the pod HD's will get more amps at some point, but it has been a while since any where added. If you are really going to wait for a specific model, then you will probably never buy one... plenty of popular amp models that have been requested since day 1, 2010 (JC120 for instance) that have not been released.
  6. they ALL have the same amp models.. probably an issue with the site. the 500x has slightly more (@20%) processing power and better footswitches.... same installed software/models/effects/amps/etc
  7. This user created utility will help you get tones from the different pod HD's to work on your particular pod HD model. http://www.jzab.de/content/pod-hd *requires java to be installed. Credit to the author. Not officially endorsed or supported by Line6.
  8. I think you can just follow this link: http://line6.com/support/topic/2163-share-and-download-20-h-d-models/ and find your way to the corrected models that you can just upload to the variax.
  9. just put the effects loop at the end of the chain, and put your pedal in the loop, is there some reason you don't want to do that?
  10. I pinned a permanent link on the forum to keep the fun from getting lost in a single thread. http://line6.com/support/topic/2163-share-and-download-20-h-d-models/
  11. http://www.vguitarfo...php?board=138.0 simply hit "New Topic" (see tab on upper right) - and post a description of your patch and add it as an attachment or download the tones you want. courtesy of: http://line6.com/support/user/82812-stevekc/
  12. turnaround is typically 72 business hours... if they are handling high volume... could be later... if you want fast, use the phone! likely a long hold time, but it'd be less than 3 days :D
  13. haven't seen any recent occurrences of either issue on the forums.
  14. Great work, just wish the excel version was in English, but it may be a simple matter to do... i just don't know.
  15. i would have thought the same... but if you're in mag mode which was another one of the recommendations... its off anyway right?
  16. big difference! many want the old acoustics back... and many enjoy the improved jtv ones... but one things for certain... they aren't the same!
  17. I asked, and those that know answered. the screenshot is apparently from an early mock up of the new workbench HD, and nothing shown was modeled or exist.
  18. open a support ticket.... http://line6.com/support/tickets/ if you bought it new and registered it in February you should get a 2.5 license. however, that can only be fixed on the line6 side. (hence the support ticket)
  19. pod farm will always say the valid license thing... because it will always see pod farm 1 license... that does not mean you really have a pod farm 2 license... FYI
  20. i was going to suggest that... but i thought that with the 500 (or 500x) you can have twice as many effects (8 slots) and he mentioned possibly playing with the amp models later on... which do not come with the m13 obviously.
  21. i thought i was the only one loving the upgraded 400.... man that thing is so sweet.... certainly still a bit of a niche... (ain't gonna be doing many rock tunes on it) but out standing.
