  1. you don't even have to call... that's just the fast way... you can open a support ticket and they'll take care of it in a few days. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  2. you will not be able to use 500x tones anywhere but the 500x.... but you can use tones from the others on the 500x
  3. you can't use both devices at once.... they are ASIO compliant devices. feeding the 500 into the UX2 is probably your best bet, since you need the phantom power.
  4. you should get the part number off that listing and call line6 uk they may be able to help you.
  5. this one for 3$ https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/line6/10Expand.aspx?ProductCode=30-60-2080
  6. never heard of this issue on a USA model... but some of the older korean ones had neck issues. contact a support center or line6 and they can check your serial number. i'd also contact them about the USA one... they'd probably find a way to get it checked out for you.
  7. Sounds like a plan! :D I think that waiting a little will bring the value up a bit... they may get slightly more common used, but there is unlikely to be many used 500X's or any discounts on the 500X's.new. between the rush to upgrade, and the discounted 500's new.. it's probably the worst time to sell.
  8. you gotta be optimistic! :) but seriously though... even @300$ which is on the low side, that takes a big chunk out of the upgrade cost... if you HAVE to have it. for myself, the modest upgrades on the X doesn't have me scrambling.
  9. well i see them on the local craigslist for 350-400$ all the time... no fees, and they never last long... but yeah, i use the ebay sold listings to find prices all the time... great resource... the price will always go down though... especially when people are currently able to find new hd500's at @400$ closed out.... once the new store stock is gone the price should bump back up a hair.
  10. here's a review from December 2010 (date in the URL) http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2010/Dec/Line_6_POD_HD500_Review.aspx it was most certainly released before the review! that and some of us, had the beta before that... also the first public firmware release. Flash Memory Version 1.10.00 Released 9/30/10
  11. first of all... no intentional carrot dangling... feel free to read into it whatever you like though.... all of the experts have non-disclosure agreements, and we couldn't tell you anything whether we know it or not. (some things we know, alot we don't... but we've all been around long enough to fill in some gaps ourselves) i'm positive they are not expecting huge sales numbers on the X model... because they do realize that it's not enough of an upgrade to persuade many current 500 owners... so the future of the HD development likely has little to nothing to do with X sales.
  12. it's DC: Line6 DC 3-G, power supply for POD HD series, input = 100-240V AC, 1.0A 50-60 Hz, output = thomann 9V DC, 3A (27W max). Plus outside, minus inside
  13. the licenses are tied to the UX2... you don't own them... the UX2 does... its normal that it needs to be plugged in. my guess is that you may have monitoring on your track? not sure though... almost sounds like you are feeding the pod farm output into your plugins though. another thing i find with logic, is that if you select "guitar" as the instrument it loads up its own plugins and amps etc... make sure you are just selecting an "other instrument" track, then select the input and apply the au's
  14. he wasn't "calling you out" he was just doing a knowledge drop... it's all good.
  15. Yup, they've done the same to me a number of times... PPC, ipod, ipod touch, java, etc... apple is a good example of how to tee off customers, yet somehow still fuel the zealots.
  16. exactly... in every xp tone... dsp is reserved for each slot whether you use it or not... with the hd, you can use that typically un-used dsp anyway you like... not using a chorus pedal? great you can use a second delay instead.... (for example) not to mention the x-series dsp is lower just due to the technology difference... this is primarily witnessed by the lower quality models etc... and the xt also lacks a harmonizer and looper which were both in high demand when the x3 was current... anyway... x3 was great.. and sure HD has some trade-offs... but that's what you get when you refuse to sacrifice quality to a large part.
  17. the mod should add a little resistance, and i believe that it does change the overall sound... but i rarely like it wide open, so my experience at that end of the dial is pretty limited.
  18. only the USA models come with a case...
  19. some people prefer the older variax acoustic models... if you downgrade your firmware to 1.7x you will have them on your JTV as well... of course you do lose any features that came after that... and of course will miss out on the variax HD 2.0 update when it comes out.... but if the 1.7x firmware suits your needs go for it.
  20. have you done the switch mod that allows the bridge pup to use the tone control? the vax model works with the tone control, so i'd start there... probably the first thing i do to my strats.
