I use my Helix floor unit almost permanently connected to my Mac running Logic. The Helix is used as the audio interface and has my Tannoy monitors connected to the XLR output on the Helix. Zero latency. It just works. Make sure that Helix is selected as the in/out audio device in Logic. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Direct monitoring question for Helix into Logic???
datacommando replied to deckard1's topic in Helix
It can be a steep curve at the beginning - something akin to being let loose on the flight deck of the Starship Enterprise, but you will soon get to grips with all the secrets. You simply need some time to become familiar with the monster. Keep at it. Enjoy. -
Direct monitoring question for Helix into Logic???
datacommando replied to deckard1's topic in Helix
Hi, You need to set a channel in Logic to record from USB input 7, this is the default for guitar in the Globals. While recording your processed audio from the Helix, the dry unaffected signal is simultaneously recorded - it is not necessary to monitor this so have that channel’s output set to off or any channel not in use. Once you have your clean unprocessed track recorded, you then simply set the output USB from that channel to, for example USB 8. Then on your Helix unit decide what preset you wish to use for a re-amped sound and set the input of that preset to receive USB 8 rather that the Guitar or Multi input. The dry signal now get sent through your hardware and back to you DAW on whatever channels you have decided to use. Have a track armed and ready to record the re-amp audio from your Helix. Sounds complex but it’s very easy, even easier if you have HX Native in the DAW, then there’s no need for the dry signal to leave the digital domain. I do lots of re-amping in Logic almost daily. Anyhow, if a picture is worth a thousand words - here’s a couple of videos to check. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, Well, I would say that everybody are correct to say that. It is exactly the same and you can get exactly the same sounds as the hardware. I have been using it since it first arrived and it sounds identical to my Helix floor hardware. I usually record into Logic Pro X using the Helix via USB and capture the stereo processed signal and also the dry mono signal which I can use to re-amp via HX Native. Never any problems. The reality is, if it is distorting you must be feeding HX Native a signal that is way too hot, and/or check all your signal chain. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi. Because you mention OSX, it's obvious that you are using a Mac, but when asking for assistance from other users on here, it's a really big help too supply as much information as possible. You know the stuff - computer and HX hardware, software versions etc. - What you posted here is a little vague. When you say "renamed some things" do you mean you've customised the name of the block on a "scribble strip' or simply renamed a preset? If you rename a preset in HX Edit and then use the drop down menu to save it, it will be saved to wherever you choose point it in the setlists. If you want to really save the preset, then use the "EXPORT" option to save it to the drive on your Mac. Hope this helps/makes sense.

helix helix, flashing presets when yo change the number bank?
datacommando replied to SenseiJuancho's topic in Helix
Hi, Don't worry - it's perfectly normal behaviour while switching Banks up or down. The flashing is to let you know that you are moving through Banks of preset until you select one. When you have it set to Preset mode, you can see the each foot switches is illuminated as you step through the choices. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Once again! Very frustrating Please fix this ASAP!!! Please read the replies to your repeated posts!

Use the Return socket as mentioned by “rd2rk” in the post above. The HX Stomp owner’s manual notes using the Returns for Aux in patching of keyboards, drum machines and MP3 players, etc. From the HX Stomp FAQ page: USB—for recording to/jamming along with Macs, PCs, iPads, and iPhones. (iPads and iPhones require the Apple Camera Connection Kit.) HX Stomp can feed both stereo paths into your computer—along with dry versions for reamping—simultaneously No mention of Android- AFAIK, it’s something to do with compliance. Apple is class compliant, others require drivers, which you don’t get on tablets, but you can have on Windows laptops etc. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Check this thread. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, That’s correct, that is the info posted above from “HonestOpinion”, who directs anyone who needs to know to the official posting of reset procedures in the link provided. Did the reset using “C & D” solve the problem for you?

Aye, proper daft innit?

There is a thread discussing “stutter” and “killswitch” fx here: Hope this helps/makes sense.

Brilliant!

Hi, Why not simply patch the Oceans 11 into the stereo Send/Return FX Loop on the HX Stomp? That’s what it was designed to do. Stick the FX Loop at the end of the signal chain after your other fx, amp and cab. Solved! Hope this help/makes sense.

Nothing to lose. Go for it!

Hi, I don’t own a Stomp, I have the Floor unit, but managing the preset/setlist situation is the essentially the same. Your Stomp comprises 126 presets, arranged into 42 Banks, with 3 Presets available in each slot in the Bank. Therefore. You can create as many setlists as you like, but you can only load one setlist at a time. O.K. That’s fine - keep that on your computer as a backup and load it as needed. If absolutely necessary you can perform a factory reset on the hardware which will restore the factory presets, should you have a disaster. If you save a setlist to your computer, that’s the backup. The actual files in that setlist remain active in your Stomp. You can now overwrite these and save this new version as “Daily” Yes, as noted above. Not merged as such. You can overwrite whatever you want and leave others as is. Again this is mentioned above. If you have 20 custom presets, ie. 20/3 = 6 Banks full and 1 Bank with 2 slots filled. The remaining preset slots/banks remain available to be overwritten or kept - whatever you want. Ah, this is better, and this is probably the best way to assemble your setlists. You have the option of saving each individual preset from HX Edit. Keep these managed in a folder on your hard drive, and then they can be loaded into whatever slot you would like, in whatever setlist happens to be loaded on you Stomp. Takes a little longer the first time you save them all out, but the advantage of being able to drag and drop any preset into any slot is great. Globals should be fine, you change those, not the setlist. Correct, as I mentioned in point 7 above. Save all the individual presets and then you can load them in any order you would like. The main thing to remember is save, save and then save again. Always work on a copy, fail safe. If you know that everything is backed up, then you could copy and paste a blank preset into all the preset/bank slots and then save that as a completely “blank page” to start things from. Mix and match and add presets to this blank start up, then save it out as your “work in progress” sketch pad” setlist. Just remember to keep saving and then reload the empty version to start again with a clean slate. Build as many and varied setlists as you like. Hi, I’m not sure I would describe them as glitchy, more like “not great for the job”. My experience is pretty much in line with “soundog”, in the comment above, (even down to the eyeballs). The idea of putting a level meter in front is a good option though. If you think that you have uncovered a bug, the best thing is to raise a ticket with Customer Support and make them aware of it. Hope this helps makes sense.

I did, obviously you didn’t. Don’t like me? O.K. Just wait in line with everyone else who is waiting for me to care about it.

Hi, As pointed out in the post from “HonestOpinion”, above, the Footswitches C & D should perform a factory reset. You said that you have tried this without success, which seems odd. You also say that it “just... boots up normally”. What do you expect it to do? If it boots up “normally” then it’s working. I’m slightly amused, and confused, by your comment - “I'm paranoid about bricking it by doing something wrong.” - yet proceed to blindly start to push footswitch combinations at random. That could have left your unit totally FUBAR. I’m also intrigued as to why you would need to perform a factory reset on what, to all intents and purposes, is a brand new device? You didn’t say what disaster you encountered that would require this sort of reset. If you have tried the recommended factory reset and it hasn’t worked, then you really need to contact Customer Support and explain the situation to them. Your unit is covered by warranty. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: I must have been only half awake before - You could try the “Safe Boot” option and re-flash the firmware, see if that works!

Hi, You’re correct, it is, but your posts are more than a little vague. In fact, it’s not at all clear what you are referring to. What looper can you only get to play back through headphones? There’s a whole variety of loopers out there, of which I have 3 different types, and then there are 2 options in the Helix firmware. So there are 5 different possibilities for a start. Also, why would you think that connecting the headphone out to your P.A. is a good idea? If you post the correct information about what you are trying to achieve and can’t, you might get a sensible reply to help you, but your first 2 posts have been a real bad start. Hope this helps/makes sense.
