  2. I have a couple Moog EP3 pedals and they work fine with the included cheap TRS cables. I think industry standardization would be a big help..Funny how we all have different wants though. While the Moog pedals work perfectly with my AX8 and Helix I only got them because I couldn't afford two heavier pedals at the time. I greatly prefer the heavier, sturdier Mission pedals. I love me Mission Engineering pedal for my Helix. It doesn't slide, get knocked over, plus it supports my fat a@@ (not that I stand on it mind you). I forget my model but it has the Line 6 logo on it. It will not work on tube AX8 (why I grabbed two Moog for less than one ME). It has zero sweep on Fractal.
  3. Never order from Proaudio Star. I can not believe they have not been shut down yet.
  4. While the spring reverb need the most work I feel they all could use work. It is most noticeable on the Spring reverb because its often used as an "up front" effect. I didn't like the reverbs in the HD400 we had at church either.
  5. Use Msconfig to create a clean boot for Helix. In msconfig you can select what items load on reboot. disable anything you don't need at the time. Be careful not to disable needed drivers and Windows files . Then reboot. If the editor runs fire you know its a memory issue or device conflict. if you are patient you can then run msconfig again and add things back into your boot up one at a time to see what you can run. At any time you can run msconfig and check normal start up to boot back to what you currently have. Obviously your other programs do not use the resources Helix does if they run fine. You may want to Google or search YouTube on how to use MSConfig prior
  6. I am not sure why you are using the Audiobox . Just run the Helix usb to the pc usb. Unless its a reamping issue that you want to use other interface. I use Reaper and direct USB connection. No stereo issues.
  7. Has anyone been able to recreate this with the Helix? I get close but no cigar.
  8. I wish the mods would move the posts there. It is going to get cluttered quickly. There are some that warrant cross posting if they involve the actual Helix.

And don't forget the women clothing. Mandatory for 70s
  10. I am not as concerned with quantity as much as quality. My only real disappointment so far are the reverbs. First, yes they are usable but could be much better. Especially the spring reverbs. Fractal and Kemper are better here But I have never liked the reverbs on any Line 6 product including pedals. The current have improved over the past.
  11. It is great when people find their sound. As so many other have said FRFR allows you to get that mike up studio sound. Adin a mix live they still sound amazing and allow multiple flavors. I don't think the real tube amp market will dwindle any time soon.. Thee is still a great market for modeling and amps. I do think over the next 20 years or so tube amp use will gradually lesson as more artists go to lighter rigs with more flexibility. As major artists continue to embrace Helix, Fractal etc. so will the public. One thing have always wondered about is why are actual tubes used in modelers. I remember tube overdrive and tube compressor pedals had a brief run of popularity but never caught on big (I know there are still some out there). Put something like an old stereo tube circuit in one. I am sure it has been tried and didn't work for one reason or the other. I know with the old Vetta's the secret recording sauce was to run it through a tube preamp. It really made iii record well. Sorry if I hijacked things..

    Tube amps Gone?

King Crimson currently use a Helix. If i recall correctly they also have AXFX and Kemper on.stage. Even old Southern Rockers have embraced modeling to some degree. I noticed a Kemper on stage at their show.

    Tube amps Gone?

Alex Lifeson Joe Satriani Don Felder Keith Urban Trevor Rabim Opeth. (entire band) Brit Floyd (nothing but bass amps and monitors) Phil Collen Unless they are not pros. The list could go on. Sound Pressure is important for hearing loss. Ask Pete Townshend or Phil Collins. It is the moving of air that you describe that prevent many from switching. The audience hears zero difference. The days of walls of amps are gone. Even the mains have gotten smaller and lighter. I should add that Lifeson may be using the four cable method with his axfx. He was using HiWatts off stage. and miked. He definitely started usingg AXFX though.
  14. Brit Floyd and Keith Urban -Fractal King Crimson and Paul Young- Helix Jesus Culture - Kemper The lists could go on.
  15. This got me thinking about how we used to put a patch cable jumper on some guitarists rigs in the effects loop. You might be able to recreate that with the block placed properly. I just cant imagine that they tried to be that realistic on amps that had. effects loops as eq and boost would accomplish this.
  16. Also i think reverbs should be improved prior to Native. Why release Native with verbs lacking?
  17. Interesting. I will have to try this. The reverbs have been my only real. complaint with the Helix. Especially the springs. I did chuckle when i started reading this thread. From the title i thought he was getting an unwanted dripping sound on reverbs. lol
  18. I use one patch in church. There is big difference between guitars but we do three or four songs per service. Using patches lime those i mentioned above can easily handle a Sunday. If absolutely have to switch guitars during a service then you can adjust with gain blocks or eqs.
  19. Take a look here for patches..http://www.worshiptutorials.com/product-category/helix-patches/
  20. They are my two most used buttons. Tap tempo button is an absolute must.
  21. Go to http://btpa.com and order any length VDI cable you want.
  22. First..I am not going after anyone here These are just general observations from an "Old Fogey" The problem is that it is people furious and complaining. They get them and expect things that are not possible with any current technology. Many of the things wanted were never possible. Do people think you can switch from a real Marshall to a Fender amp live and no one will notice a drop or boost? Look, I understand why they want all of these features. But there was never anything suggesting it could be done. Then, even if they admit it sounds good,, they return the item in 30 days wanting full refund. This costs retailers and Line 6 thousands of dollars a year driving up prices for everyone.. And the person still can't do what do what they want. They may be able to do it with inferior sounding modeling that did not use as music dsp our maybe a TC Electronics effects only unit (they are pretty nice, I used a Nova System on my old board). Then they post negative stuff everywhere because it can't do the impossible. Or at least not possible without something the size of a couch, or costing $100000. It is very possible all of these requests will come to pass in time. As technology continues too improve and optimizations continue things will get closer. Maybe by Helix 3 it will come close or hit it. And I know Line 6 is working on tweaking Helix. Maybe a future firmware update will get it close provide work around.. It will never please everyone..
  23. I use an Electro-Voice ZLX 12p. These are fantastic for the price . Mine is on the floor and set to monitor. They compare favorably to some twice the price. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ZLX12p?campaigntype=dsa&campaign=aaDSA&adgroup=984185277%3ADSA%2520-%2520Product&keyword=DSA%2520-%2520Product&placement=google&adpos=1t1&creative=202527388924&device=c&matchtype=b&network=g&gclid=CjwKEAjws-LKBRDCk9v6_cnBgjISJAADkzXeOsLS-W06fteSCuN15wnjy81fN_VdwD6YXnlJHpeD7hoCYNDw_wcB
