  1. Yep, forgotten is right! The sticky at the top is stuck on Version 1.5! That was August 2017.....
  2. If you're playing in a vomit, blood, beer kind of bar in Colorado that's ignoring social distancing ... build a shield using a wood frame, covered with 3 ml plastic sheeting. Cheaper than plexiglass. I'd make it head height and cower behind it.
  3. You would record dry "raw" track from Helix LT into your DAW. You could monitor using wet from Helix LT (on a separate track, which you could also record at the same time if you want). Apply Native to the raw track later, as needed. So, you could match the preset, or use something different. Follow the manual for details on which USB tracks to use for wet and dry...
  4. Why does Mr. Sadites have such a large head?
  5. First, post in the Helix Native forum. This one is for the hardware. Are you trying to change snapshots via your DAW's automation, or trying to use external MIDI foot switches?
  6. Have you upgraded it to the latest firmware version? Or you could first try resetting to factory settings. There were some issues in early versions with certain presets getting corrupted and freezing the unit (mine included). Things are OK now with the latest firmware version.
  7. Are you using a Helix? Have you tried using the Helix as your audio interface? Any difference?
  8. If you need to do serious looping during performances and use a Helix, a dedicated looper jacked into a In/Out of a Helix is a powerful combination. And you avoid the dilemma of confusing foot switch assignments. Everything just works predictably. Plus, you can setup Helix presets and snapshots to control when the looper is in or out of the signal path, and which Helix effects are pre or post looper. FYI, I settled on a Boomerang III after trying many loopers, and it is a joy to work with, and can be customized to adapt to your own style of live, on-the-fly looping. There are plenty of other excellent looper pedals out there .... read reviews before buying to make sure it has the feature set you need.
  9. If this works for others, it should be a Sticky at the top of this forum!! Thanks for sharing it.....
  10. Can't say that I blame you .... computer-based live performance setups have to be rock solid. Sorry it didn't work out. BTW, if you're looking at alternatives, I've been really happy with the tone from the S-Gear amp/cabinet sim. It even includes a standalone MIDI-controllable app with ultra low latency. There aren't a lot of distortion and special fx pedals, though, so if you need a lot of virtual stomp boxes you would need to supplement.
  11. Most (all?) of these types of problems I see in this forum do seem to be with the trial. My plug-in (running on a Mac) doesn't have issues and does not try to connect, and will run offline. I think Line 6 support will stand behind the product if you buy it and have issues...
  12. The trial version seems to do a lot of "phoning home," so check to see that 1) your Line 6 account log on info is correct, 2) you have an unhindered connection to the internet (with no VPN, firewall barrier, Little Snitch deny, etc). No guarantee this will fix your problem, but it's worth investigating.
  13. I own a Scarlett (18i8), and Helix floor, Helix Native and a UAD Apollo Twin. I've used all sorts of combinations for audio interface/guitar modeling. It all depends on your needs. Do you or will you record a lot of vocals or acoustic instruments (guitar, mandolin, etc)? If not, the Scarlett should be fine. Actually, the Stomp (and Helix) are decent interfaces. UAD stuff is $$$. Of course, you can spend even more UAD $$$ and get some of their excellent plugins which run within their own hardware processors (freeing up some computer resources). I think I would base the decision on your current/future needs and whether or not you are happy with your current audio quality. Frankly, you may be just fine with what you already have...
  14. Agreed. Its so nice to get these regular updates. Thanks to the whole team.
  15. ....also, connect direct USB and not via a hub. Check your cable, too.
  16. ....good luck, keep us posted. I used Tracktion in the early days (I think it started as a Mackie product) and thought it was pretty cool!
  17. Well, I just took a quick look at the manual, and there is lots of stuff in there on e.g. "Save Selected Plugins as Preset" or "Saving Presets" etc. I'm not a Tracktion Waveform user so not sure what's up. Is it just HXN that's behaving this way in Tracktion, or any of your third-party plug-ins?. FYI, in my DAW (Logic) plug-in settings (including Helix Native) are automatically saved with the songs, which is the way it should be. But to be double sure I can always reload a HXN preset, I usually also save them to disk from within HXN (naming them to match song title, etc). That's just insurance in case I change stuff in Native later, a system crash, lost files, switching DAWs, etc.
  18. My god, what a beautiful sounding Pink Floyd tribute band. Simply awesome.
  19. Catalina is a scary thing for a lot of apps.
  20. Wow. Nice! Excellent and very useful video. I've watched some of your other videos, but don't nasty snarly metal stuff so I fast forwarded. So .... it was great to see you laying down some clean bass tones. I'm always looking for ways to improve bass tone. I'll spend some more time with this and Helix Native (in Logic Pro) later this week. Thx. johnplainsong.com

  22. Come to think of it, if you want to use HX Edit/computer along with a foot switch controller, you should look for something with 5-pin MIDI. Yeah, the FCB1010 is a monster (though industrial strength). Another thought would be something like a Logidy UMI3 USB/MIDI foot switch, connected to your computer, running alongside HX Edit .... and then go USB from computer to Helix.
  23. A used SoftStep. Version 1 is good enough. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Keith-McMillen-SoftStep-V1-USB-MIDI-Guitar-Pedal-Controller-Foot-Switch/333572515028?hash=item4daa78a4d4:g:9lIAAOSwoTJekgnk
  24. @spanny --- yes, you can turn on/off any FX blocks via an external controller using any CC# you choose. The HX FX is extremely versatile when it comes to MIDI control. Check out the manual (available online) re: "Block Bypass via MIDI".
