  1. I had a hum from my X3 Pro once so I reflashed it and it went away. Maybe reflash it first and go from there.
  2. Sounds like your saying I have a resistor in my amp (DT50) that is off spec enough to give me a bias reading mismatch of 4 mv with an ultra matched set of tubes. Although every 4 hours I check my bias as I'm curious to see what gives with time and it looks like they're creeping closer to being even, so far by only 2mv. I should add, I plug the amp into a power strip not a device that ensures exactly 120v is flowing. Almost forgot to mention the amp is working great.
  3. How did you find that, LOL. Nice work B. Is that really every custometone file? Holy Sheeeeeeeeeiiiiiittttt
  4. Whichever way sounds best to you is the way you would hook it up. I used the Combo Front and Sudio Direct with the 1/4" output switch at AMP and the Guitar in switch set to PAD with good results going from my HD500 to a Spider Jam which is a 75w SS amp. There really isn't any set way, you just need to try them all and see where you settle in at. I also use the XLR out to the Spider Jam's Mic in with studio direct.
  5. I agree with Palico, I knew about the tube thing before buying it and was completely new to anything about guitars and amps when I dove in. Having knowledge before jumping into anything means alot when it comes to making the most out it. A bit more info, I purchased mine online and it made a 3000 mile trek to get to me and I recall someone with experience say that the shipping can possibly mess a tube up. Regardless, I wouldn't let possibly replaceing tubes get in the way of getting one. Good luck in your decision making.
  6. I have the DT50 Head/DT25 Cab with an HD500, and love them....sounds great and I rarely crank it up past twelve oclock and lately been at around ten oclock on the master volume. I realize I could have gotten away with the DT25 'cause it's plenty loud and a smaller package but I really wanted the DT50 so that's whats I got and I don't regret it. This was my first amp and took me a good amount of time to get familiar with but now I'm getting really comfortable with it. I went about 4 months and the amp started to act up, the output would just go quiet after a fizzle or two and then quit all together. After while I learned about biasing tubes, bought a matched set of new original tubes put them in, set the bias and I was back in business. I thought the tubes didn't last that long but after thinking about it I probably had well over 100 hours on them, lol. I lose track of time easily when playing guitar, Hahaaa.
  7. I figured I'd take the plunge and get Touch OSC for my iPad but when I downloaded the control map file for the DT50 iPad, unzipped it and found that the file contained in the folder just says "index" in xml and when I added it to "touch osc" in iTunes and synced it didn't show in the layout part of the app. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I think the file should say DT50,touchosc. How did you make out with yours bobhart? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Added: In the meantime I've installed Java and the Touch OSC Editor and am learning how to make my own layout controls.
  8. It's also possible a tube is taking a poopie. How many hours are on them? Sometimes a tube can just stop working without many hours it. Oh wait, you did say going into the front the amp sounds good. Carry on!!! lol
  9. Maybe whomever installed the strings neglected to stretch them out a bit. Glad to hear your having a good time.
  10. The only way I've been able to add comments is while using GearBox, it allows you to enter notes/comments before saving the patch to your computer. I wish HD Edit was like that. Although I usually need to add or change something after uploading it, lol. And don't save a patch with a forward slash in the title of the patch or you won't be able to delete it if you need to, lol.
  11. If you do the global reset (left arrow button) you'll need to recalibrate the pedal. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd500-hd500x/pod-hd500xhd500-pedal-calibration-r161 If the Onboard expression pedal of the POD HD500 does not sweep through parameter values as it normally would, you may need to perform a pedal calibration to reset the functionality of the expression pedal: Hold the down the RIGHT ARROW button on the 4 Way Nav Pad while powering the unit on, until you see the “Test Mode†screen (Pedal Cal, etc.), and then proceed with the steps below: If not already selected, use on the 4 Way Nav Pad to select “Pedal Cal,†as shown above. Press the VIEW button. Set the pedal to the minimum “heel†position, then press the A footswitch to set a value for the Duty Cycle. You’ll see the value set to “100.†Set the pedal to the maximum “toe†position, then press the B footswitch to set a value for the Duty Cycle. Again, you’ll see the value set to “100,†as in step 3. Press the C footswitch to prepare for automatic selection of the Scaled Pedal Value and move the pedal from min. to max. You should see the Scaled Pedal Values read “0†at the heel position and “255†and the toe position. If you get values other than 0 and 255, power off and repeat these steps, starting at step 1. Press the D footswitch to save the settings. You’ll be returned to the Test Mode screen and the Pedal Cal item will show a “P†to indicated that the pedal calibration is complete! Power your device off and back on again to start using it. ***Please Note: Re-calibration of the POD HD500's expression pedal is necessary after performing a Global Settings reset. Instructions for how to perform a Global Settings reset is available here.
  12. I've found that when I use the HD500 with the DT50 without HD Edit or any connection to a computer I have a better experience with my sound. Don't get me wrong I love using HD Edit as it made it easier for me to learn the editing process and that's coming from someone who has never had a "pedalboard" in the past.
  13. I search google for when I need info for something I'm doing or want to do and usually find what I'm looking for quickly whether it be the forum, products page, downloads, mauals etc. If you use the right search words it works pretty good. I've been doing it for quite sometime and am getting better at it everytime.

OoooooH!!! Ballls!!! I realy didn't want to touch that one.......or two, lol.
  15. Your computer may be the culprit if your right in front of it as well as any other nearby things like lights, tv's and such. Also if your using a laptop try unplugging it to see if it goes away. Nice guitar dude, I love it and wish I had one of those bad boys. I find it hard to beleive those pick ups are a problem I own a few Schecter guitars and they are fine string sticks. Hope you get the static out, don't give up I have a toneport UX2 and still use it from time to time. Rock-On!!
  16. I run the 500 edit program in administrative mode, right click on the icon and choose "run as administrator", you can also change the advanced properties of the program so it runs it like when you open it. Make sure your HD500 is the default sound card for Listening and Recording. Hope it helps with your problem.
  17. Does the HW500 have the integral in ear monitoring system? If not I want no parts of it, lol. P.S.: Cool hat though!!! Reminds me of MacMurphey in the cookoos nest.

We Read Ya. Thats a big Thumbs up.
  19. Also, have you tried recording with your laptops power cord unplugged?
  20. Here's one video of some HD500 work, fixing the usb port. Maybe you can get him to fix your pod as he looks very very fast. My search words were "replacing usb on hd500". Here's a link to a thread on the LCD Screen >>> http://line6.com/support/topic/7716-what-lcd-screen-pod-hd500x-uses/ one of the posts have information pertaining to getting the LCD, check it out at the bottom of this post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlY3sV4UXk4
  21. Hate when the lollipop falls in the dirt, lol. I just replaced the tubes in my DT50 the original tubes got to the point where they would work for 10-20 minutes and then just stop glowing. My first experience with bad tubes. I guess they would heat up and something inside would lose connection shutting the heaters off. Then I would let them cool down for a long while and they would repeat that cycle for a while before they just quit all together.
  22. As Triryche said did you turn on the phantom power by pushing the button? I think a red light will light up after turned on. Then be sure to turn the gain up (top of the UX2) for the mic input being used. Then be sure that the patch for you assingned to your mic is not muted somehow.
  23. wowza, Thanks for the input, lol. I think this amps idle is pretty quiet too sounds like yours is the same as mine. Just didn't know how it was for you out of curiosity. I usually end up setting the bass to between 8 and 10 o'clock or even lower sometimes.
  24. I don't know much about swapping tubes. Thanks for posting that as I might try something like this in the future. What kind of tone change did you get from the KT77's? Was wondering how much floor noise you get with your DT50 is it dead quiet? Mine has some noise but can only really hear it if you get 4-6 feet in front of the speaker. Doesn't bother me that much as I can't hear it when when playing even at lower volume levels. Was just wondering if it's possible to get it dead quiet at idle. Good luck with those tubes and please let me know "if you can" how they hold up and sound.
  25. Just an update for myself and anyone else interested. After about 10 hours playing the DT50 sounds great. When approx. 8 hours hit I checked the tubes again and switched their positions after a good 15 minutes of warm up I set the bias to 36-34 plate voltage was 498. Looks like the bias gap I had is closing in. Regardless it sounds great and I love it. Added: Since I haven't logged all the hours I put on the original tubes I may have easily put 100 hours on them. I didn't realize how easy it is to put 100 hours on tubes, lol. When you start playing you just get into playing so much you forget about time all together. Especially if the amp is new to you and your learning how to use all the different settings. Mar 25, 2015: Was thinking, I wonder if the amount of time the amp is on is recorded somewhere in the circuitry of this thing? LOL Like a time counter.
