Connect Helix to computer via usb. Connect headphones or amp to Helix outputs. Set your computer audio/sound to use Helix as the audio device.

Every time Helix starts up it checks for presets that were created in older firmware. If it finds any it rebuilds them to ensure compatibility with current firmware. It seems the presets you imported were created in firmware prior to v3.11. Perfectly normal behaviour - no need to worry. P.S. In general it's a good habit to power off/on your Helix immediately after importing any presets to force this rebuild, especially if you think the presets are older. There is a possibility that a corrupt preset was imported, which could cause unpredictable behaviour up to and including freezing your Helix.

Yes I am able to run both Helix Native and Pod Farm v2.51 on Windows 10 Pro using a Helix Rack as my audio interface.

You can copy multiple presets simultaneously so you can proceed exponentially. After copying the first preset you then have two presets you can copy in a single operation to make four, then eight, etc. Not ideal but much more time friendly.

I also purchased it and am happy with the value for $. I’ve watched the video pointed to in MusicLaw’s post so I’m sure I’m not giving anything away here. The most useful things for me in this eBook are: - a complete description of all Helix FX and their parameters including examples and usage tips; - a thorough description of multi-amp parallel processing with many different examples; - enough information on EQ and it’s many applications (cab emulations, multi-band processing, …) to drown me - but all of it interesting and useful; and - many DSP saving tips and tricks. All in all, many ideas, examples, and templates to bring to my own preset creation methods.

While there is no magic sync, you can Export (save) individual setlists or even the full bundle from your Helix device using HX Edit, and then Import them into Helix Native from the saved file on your computer. Of course, you need to be sure that your versions of Helix firmware and Helix Native are compatible and that Helix Native is running in the appropriate Hardware Compatibility mode.

Every New Preset has 8 Snapshots whose default names are Snapshot 1 through Snapshot 8. In HX Edit, right click on the name and choose to rename it. Remember to hit the Enter key when done. This will not affect the snapshot names in the original preset (assuming you mean the preset that you copied). All snapshots share the same preset structure, including the selection and placement of all amps, cabs, and FX blocks. You can turn the blocks on/off per snapshot but any change you make in terms of adding, deleting, or rearranging blocks in the preset will affect all snapshots. You can also change the parameters for any of these blocks per snapshot by assigning the parameter to the Snapshot controller. Also, become familiar with the Global Settings parameter that defines whether changes to snapshots are recalled or discarded when you switch snapshots within a preset before saving the preset (see manual).

Heat dispersion is another good reason for not placing your device directly on the carpet. Imho, airflow underneath it helps prevent overheating even if the air vents are on the side of the device.

Check the Min and Max level settings for the Vol block in the preset.

Yes you can use snapshots and switch presets using your feet for both actions. In Global Settings -> Footswitches there's a parameter called Preset Mode Switches. I typically select the “Preset/Snap” option which causes the scribble strips to show one bank of presets on the top row, and Snapshots 1-4 on the bottom row. with a simple press of a switch you can select from among 1 of 4 snapshots and 1 of 4 presets.

Before you invest in an adapter be sure your mobile device (iOS, Android) is running an OS version that is supported by the (not recently update) M20d firmware. For iOS I believe the M20d wi-fi capability ended with iOS 13. Devices running iOS 14.x are no longer compatible with the M20d wi-fi feature.

I would open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 Tech Support. If it’s a brand new device they will help you sort it out, or replace it. Or, if you bought it from a retailer it should still be within the warranty period. Get them to replace it before spending any more time on it.

The HX FX is not an audio interface and can’t be directly connected to your iPad for recording purposes. You will need to use an audio interface device that is compatible with your iPad and that can be recognized by your loopy pro app. I’m not sufficiently familiar with this setup to advise you further.

It is important to understand how to create your own presets. You will find all manuals under the Support tab at the top of this page.

The sound is identical between Helix Native and any of the Helix devices when using the device compatible presets. There may be sound differences caused by different monitors or processing elements. For instance you will notice a big difference if you use a pair of studio monitors with your DAW and Helix Native vs. playing your guitar through a Helix Floor and then to a guitar amp. Also, your DAW may apply other plug-in FX. But if you simultaneously record both a dry and wet (Helix-processed) signal into your DAW and then import the Helix preset that you used for the recording into Helix Native applied to the dry track the sounds should be indistinguishable at the same volume level. You can use a different audio interface, but this will also affect the sound. If you buy the Helix Stomp and connect its outputs to anything but the audio interface when just playing and not recording, it will sound different than when you use the audio interface to record. When not recording your PC is irrelevant; your Helix Stomp outputs need to be connected directly to speakers, amp, or audio interface to which your monitors are connected.

The VOL pedal behaviour in this context is controlled in two ways. 1) Global Settings -> Switches / Pedals, on page 2 of the parameters, EXP 1 position and EXP 2 position. From the manual, these parameters: “Determines whether the POD Go expression pedal positions are recalled per snapshot, per preset, or applied globally. If you want a Volume Pedal or Wah to maintain its position when switching presets, set this to “Global.”” It sounds like you currently have this set to Preset; you may want to change it to Global. 2) When the above setting is Snapshot or Preset the position of the pedal is recalled in the same position that it was last Saved. So you could leave the setting at preset and Save the preset after you have changed the pedal position as desired.

Glad you got it sorted out. Many FX blocks in Helix have multiple pages of parameters. You can tell whether there are more pages by the horizontal bar that appears just above the parameter display. If the bar is only partly lit up it means there are more pages of parameters.

I would try a couple of things before replacing it. 1) Rotate the knob back and forth quickly, through its full range of motion, many times. This could dislodge some dust and dirt that may have built up in the shaft. 2) Use a cleaning fluid. Search for ‘cleaning a potentiometer’ for materials and method. DON’T use a common household lubricating fluid such as WD-40.

You can apply Global EQ to either or both of XLR and 1/4”. See page 2 parameters for the Global EQ block. (See manual. I looked it up for you to provide this answer)

Firehawk FX is not a successor to Amplifi. It is a floor model rather than an amp model but the underlying technology is very similar if not identical. Specifically, I'm not aware that there any differences re: Bluetooth implementation. There is no speaker included with the Firehawk FX. There is a Firehawk amp product but I have no experience with that. At its best, this technology is not really in the same league - tonewise - as your Helix. As I said, I have not had any serious issues with Firehawk FX. That's certainly not to say that others will have no issues. But bear in mind that this forum is a support forum. It's not surprising that most people who visit here are having issues. What this forum does not reflect is the number of users who are perfectly satisfied with their Amplifi/Firehawk products. There's really no way to even estimate or compare that number. Having said that, it does seem - based purely on the number of problems reported - that the Amplifi/Firehawk product series has been more problematic than most Line 6 products. I won't try to steer you one way or the other in your considerations. You may love the Firehawk or you may hate it.
