  1. As was said, the main volume knob cannot control the level of the Send blocks. So.... no.
  2. Not sure exactly what you're saying. As codamedia says, the main volume knob does not control the SEND or RETURN levels of your FX Loop connections. You control those levels with parameters in the FX Loop block. But are you saying that the main volume level of the LT does not affect the FX Loop signals after they return and are mixed into the signal chain? In other words, as you increase the main volume level there is no increase applied to the sound coming in from the FX Loops? And conversely that if you reduce the main volume level to zero you still hear the the sound coming in from the FX Loops? That would be highly unusual.
  3. .... moved to the M5 forum section for greater visibility among M-series users.......
  4. Make sure you are logged into your Line 6 account within HX Edit when you import the Marketplace assets. Check the bottom left area of the HX Edit window to login to your account.
  5. Sure - at bedroom levels 5" should be OK. Just a caution re: going too loud. (Of course, you can't know what 'too loud' is until it's too late!)
  6. I haven’t used Workbench HD in a while bit iirc you can cut/paste models within the workspace. You may have to export/import at some points in order to avoid overwriting something you want to keep. If cut/paste is not available you can certainly do what you want with import/export.
  7. I’m not a high gain player but in my listening experience a good high gain tone = loud. I would recommend at least 6” speakers, preferably 8”. I blew out a 5” speaker using a POD X3 in my home studio several years ago, playing rock and blues. I had it repaired and have since paid more attention to my studio volume.
  8. Think of the time you spend on tone creation/searching as an investment. Prioritizing your time so that you learn how to create your own tones is time well spent. It’s not that you can’t make your own tones. It’s just that you haven’t yet spent enough time learning to do so. Rather you have been spending time searching, unsuccessfully, for tones that work for you. What if you had spent that time learning? Customtone can be useful but is ultimately frustrating because there are just SO MANY things other than the preset itself that go into the sound you hear. For instance, what are the odds that you’ll find a preset created by someone who also has a Parker fly guitar? That difference alone will make the sound heard by the tone creator very different from the sound you hear from the same preset. The chances that you will stumble across a preset that sounds great to you without significant tweaking are quite small. So, knowing that you will need to tweak anyway, you’ll need much the same knowledge and understanding to tweak as to create. Why not stop searching and start learning? In the end you’ll be in a much better place knowing at least the basics of creating tones that you like rather than spending the same amount of time, or more, continuing the tone searching efforts you are finding frustrating.
  9. Some people simply find it distracting.
  10. Yes you can do that. You don't need an amp block in the Helix. Yes you can create and save a Helix preset for this. To do only this the preset would include nothing but the FX Loop. Of course you could add further Helix processing blocks if you wish.
  11. Have you considered using your DAW soundcard with the Helix Native plugin? When doing a significant recording session use Helix as your audio interface. Record a dry guitar signal along with a Helix-processed signal simultaneously if desired. Thereafter you can arrange and produce your song/tones using the dry signal and Helix Native without needing Helix. The Helix and Helix Native presets are transferable so when your song is finished you can use the same preset for live performance.
  12. From the POD Go FAQs: Dimensions/weight? Is it smaller than POD HD500X? 14.1”w x 9.1”d x 3.5”h; 5.2lbs It’s way smaller and lighter than POD HD500X. Fits inside pretty much any backpack or carry-on.
  13. Yes - this is normal. The patches are incompatible.
  14. Not by yourself. You could contact Line 6 to see if they can do it for you. Otherwise you could just create another username / account and start using that one rather than this one. If you have any equipment registered with this account you would have to manually unregister it here and re-register using the new account.
  15. Make sure you have your speakers / headphones connected to the HX Stomp.
  16. What do you mean by ‘missing’? Do they not appear in the model list at all, or are they greyed out? If they don’t appear at all, make sure you are looking in the proper sub-category of MOD models (mono, stereo, legacy).
  17. I guess I don't understand. Since you can control the output volume of your Helix using its master volume knob, why do you need to also control the volume on your speakers? Just turn the Helix volume down and leave your speakers alone - is that not sufficient?
  18. I run mine through a pair of L3t speakers. I also set the volume on the speakers to accommodate my usual Helix cranked volume level. However when I need to turn things down I lower the Helix volume, not the speaker volume (rear panel as you note). I don’t really notice a difference in sound quality other than the predictable difference due to lower volume. I don’t think the lower Helix output volume affects sound quality much in that situation.
  19. The reason is that Line 6 introduced Workbench HD support with the POD HD500X. There was a hardware change with the HD500X and the Workbench HD support was not retrofitted to the previous hardware, the HD500. I’m not 100% sure that the hardware upgrade was technically the reason but that’s certainly the timing of it. Edit: In order to use Workbench HD with your JTV59 you will need to use the Variax Workbench Interface device that came with your JTV59 if you purchased it new.
  20. No. The POD Go looper (like all Line 6 loopers in multi-FX processors) has no concept of timing, tempo, or beats. It simply records the incoming signal from the moment you press the Record switch to the moment you press Stop.
  21. Not sure how you would be recording into the mixer (4 mics? 1 mic?) but I expect the mixer has audio outputs. I would route them (L/R) into a Helix Return pair so that you could use multiple mics for the drums and mix a stereo signal into Helix. Then, as you say, into Reaper via USB from Helix.
  22. Have you tried using two Delay blocks adjacent to each other in the signal chain? Make them identical in all respects except for the delay time. Assign them both to the same FS and save the preset in the state where one block is on and the other off. The FS will then toggle between them.
  23. “You can’t always get what you want....”
