    New Presets?

Helix presets are compatible with Helix Native. You should be able to import any Helix preset into Helix Native. Please describe exactly what procedure you are using and where/how the import is failing. Edit: I have seen your similar post in another thread. You can restore the factory setlists from within Helix Native (see page 15 of the Helix Native manual).
  2. I'm not familiar with the Mac world but I know that on Windows you would need to install the Line 6 driver. Is there a corresponding Mac component you need?
  3. I think it's helpful to distinguish between two different 'sound libraries'. The most important library is the set of amp/fx models that is built into the firmware. Historically this set is only added to in new firmware updates. Existing models have never been removed as new models are added although sometimes an existing model may be tweaked for improvement. The second library is the set of factory presets. These are examples of how the first sound library can be used (combined, mixed and matched) to create different sounds. Individual factory presets are sometimes added while others are completely removed and/or replaced in a new firmware update.
  4. Input block is on the left; output on the right.

    Looper Undo

Are you perhaps confusing UNDO with Erase? The UNDO function only operates on overdubs, not the original pass of the the recorded loop. If you want to completely erase a loop (undo the original pass of the recording) you need to record a new silent loop, or power cycle the device.
  6. As stated above, Helix Rack and Floor users who do not have any problems with the mic preamps and scribble strips do not come here to say so. But let me be a voice in the wilderness. I own the Helix Rack and Control and I have never had any such issues. Don't let this unfounded fear drive you to the less fully featured LT. Price is a much more valid reason to choose the LT.
  7. The cable that comes with the guitar is not intended to be used as a VDI cable. It is intended to be used only for Variax firmware updates or for Workbench HD, along with the Variax hardware interface device that also comes with the guitar.
  8. This capability was implemented almost a year ago, as of firmware version 2.20. There have been several more firmware updates since that time. Your homework: when exactly was v2.20 released, and how many updates have there been since then? (Hint: Check the Downloads area of this website.)
  9. Yes. He will probably reappear and we'll continue to play whack-a-mole. Now that he's become a regular we'll recognize him more quickly and take care of him again just as quickly. Meantime it's harmless entertainment.
  10. I suggest you open a support ticket if you haven't done so already. https://line6.com/account/tickets/view This is a user forum, not a Line 6 Tech Support mechansim. The support ticket will let you communicate directly with Line 6 tech support.
  11. Set Path 1 Input to Guitar and set Path 2 Input to Mic. Process each Path independently and send their respective Output blocks to the physical outputs (1/4", XLR, etc.) Do NOT route the Path 1 Output to the Path 2 Input.
  12. Why not just use the loop feature in your DAW? There's no advantage that I can see to using the Helix looper in this situation. ... and you can't record the looper to a different track from the solo using Helix anyway, so the DAW is your best option ......
  13. Thanks. I have updated the first post as you suggest.
  14. http://line6.com/support/topic/31856-v250-installation-procedure/?view=findpost&p=244618 I suggest you read the full thread before updating. There were some improvements along the way.
  15. Make sure you are using a stereo TRS connector/adapter in the headphones jack.
  16. There's no foundation. You mention two guys who don't use the stock cabs (I'm sure lots of guys do, including the OP!). Then you make an unfounded claim that 'better' players 'tend to gravitate to IRs', Where's the evidence for that? Then you conclude with the purely subjective opinion that 'better' sounds are IR driven. You chastise someone for offering an unfounded opinion, then you proceed to do exactly the same. Seems like pure bias to me.
  17. ... and the 'foundation' for your opinion is....?? Careful - you may appear to be biased or have an agenda. ;)
  18. Yes you can assign the Variax Model parameter to the snapshot controller. Not sure about the left click method but you can certainly do it by the usual push/turn the param knob or explicit controller assignment methods.
  19. The VDI cable powers the guitar automatically; you don't need the 1/4" cable to turn it on. But you do need to push the model knob down to turn on the modelling and the lights.
  20. That's my recollection too - a Variax setlist in the POD HD series. I think there may be some Helix factory presets that contain Variax settings but I don't think it's a specific focus in any way.
  21. Well, maybe I'm just lucky then. I do agree with you about Customtone - in my experience you do need to be struck by lightning to get anything immediately useful there. But paid presets? My experience is exactly opposite from yours. Perhaps your 3Sigma experience may be partly due to the fact that they primarily build IRs and then threw together some bad presets in order to demonstrate the IRs. I find the presets that are built by people whose main interest is the presets themselves are good quality. EDIT: That's not to say that you, me, and many other experienced preset creators can't do the same thing. Just that less experienced users might not be able to right off the bat.
  22. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I think there are a lot of users who, especially in the early stages, aren't really experienced or comfortable creating their own presets. They see good value in paying a few dollars for some well constructed and great sounding presets created by others. They not only get some immediately useful great tones they also get some good insight into advanced preset creating techniques. I consider myself to be reasonably competent in terms of creating my own presets but I have also learned stuff, and got some great tones, from some preset purchases I have made. I don't feel ripped off at all. And nobody is forcing anyone to buy presets. It's an option. Value is in the eyes of the purchaser. Just because you don't see the value doesn't mean others are being ripped off.
  23. You don't use Line 6 Updater for Helix Native. Just download and install it directly. You use it in your DAW with any audio interface, not necessarily a Line 6 device.
  24. Oh - right. Thanks for the clarification. For some reason I was thinking Pod HD Pro as the original, vs. the ProX.
  25. Not 'button' - use the editing knob beneath the display.
