  1. .. and another unknown named Neil Young... ... but I'm done name-dropping. There are just too many!
  2. In Global Settings there is a parameter for which outputs are controlled by the Master Volume big knob.
  3. ... and, of course, Shania Twain.... oh ... and Stompin' Tom Connors (RIP). ;)
  4. Best not to publicize your very limited knowledge of Canadian music........ 😎ðŸ˜
  5. The older UX2 came with a PF1 license. You should be able to download and install PF1 and have a greater selection of amps and FX. Run Line 6 Monkey with your UX2 connected to install PF1. If you want to use Pf2 you will need to buy a license for it.
  6. Quite apart from the input connections and processing, you simply can't record more than two tracks simultaneously to your DAW with the POD HD as your audio interface. It's ASIO driver is limited to two channels/tracks.
  7. Make sure you assign the Snapshots controller to the parameters you want to change (e.g. The Variax Model parameter, the amp's mid and treble, ...). To do this simultaneously push and turn the parameter encoders - not push and hold.
  8. Have you run the Line 6 License Manager with your new UX2 connected?
  9. Just curious - why would you want to leave it on overnight or for hours/days at a time when you know you wont't be using it?
  10. I would keep the one 1/4" you now use and add both XLRs to your powered monitor (use a stereo- mono adapter if necessary). The reason is that the 1/4" L/mono output sums the signal to mono; the XLR does not. I know you are not using stereo FX but but without summing to mono you will only get half the signal (strength?) to your monitor. Maybe that won't matter at all but I would at least test it.
  11. Try recalibrating the pedal. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/video-tutorial-pod-hd300-400-expression-ped-r215

    WOW!

Ha Ha! Don't worry - I plan to be around to pi$$ you off for a while yet!
  13. Yeah - the V300 was my 'gateway drug' too. I transplanted it into a Warmoth Variax body and neck, adding Graphtech piezos, and fell in love with it. Soon after that the JTV series was released, rendering my souped-up Warmth V300 worth way less than I had invested in it, and I bought a JTV-59. But I still love playing it, and it sounds great through Helix even though not fully compatible in terms of presets and automation. But now my Helix and JTV is my main rig, and I use the Warmoth V300 with my Firehawk FX for much fun jamming and tone matching.
  14. Bring your chequebook (or equivalent in today's terms).

    WOW!

Words of wisdom to my 65 year old ears! When I go, I'm going to go down swinging (attitude, music, and golf!)
  16. There may or met not be further enhancement to Firehawk FX. Only Line 6 knows and they only release this sort of information when an update is available. So unless and until it's announced there is no update. As for feeling like you bought an interim product, that belongs to an old and recurring debate that's applicable to all products on this forum. There's nothing new to say about it and no point in starting a new debate. Search the forum for these threads. They all boil down to this: if you bought the product for what it does at the time you bought it, then any further enhancements are a bonus and you're happy. If you bought the product for what it might do at some future date then you set yourself up for disappointment, which you are now feeling. It's your choice at the time of purchase of any product. What are your future expectations for the product? If no enhancements are forthcoming, will you be satisfied or disappointed? If the latter, don't buy the product until such enhancements have been made.
  17. Try this setup: - create a dual path preset in Helix. Use Path 1 for your guitar processing. Use Path 2 for your headphone signal. - in your DAW send your headphone/click track to USB 3/4. Set the Helix preset Path 2 input to USB3/4 - connect your Helix XLR L/R outputs to your monitors. Set your Path 1 outputs to XLR only. - connect your headphones (you'll need an adapter) to the Helix 1/4" outputs. Set your Path 2 outputs to 1/4" only. Set the 1/4" output signal level to Mic, not quite what your headphones are expecting but not as loud as Line level. Start with a very low output level on the Path 2 output (set output level parameter to -max Db) to protect your ears and headphones. Increase slowly until adequate.
  18. In terms of quality tones, ease of use, and routing capabilities there is really no comparison in my opinion. Is it worth the money? Not if you don't have it. But if it's not going to leave you eating nothing but peanut butter then yes.
  19. In your case I think a pair of 6" studio monitors would be best. These will also be appropriate if you decide to get into recording. The other options seem overkill, both space and sound, for the size of your room and also are too big to use as near-field recording monitors. In that space 6" should give you enough low end without shaking the floor or walls. 5" would probably be adequate but leave you wanting more, and 4" won't cut it on the low end.
  20. I recommend against using asio4all. It is not a compliant ASIO driver and is known to cause problems with some Line 6 device users. It might work for you, it might not. If it does not there is no support from Line 6 who, understandably, support their products when used with their own driver - not someone else's.
  21. Try restarting your computer. In Reaper's Audio preferences (or settings, whatever it's called) you should be able to select Helix and its ASIO driver as the audio input and output device.
  22. If you want just the driver, select Driver in the software field.
  23. All I can think of is that the background noise is causing some resonation of your guitar strings which in turn is being picked up by the tuner. Does the background noise still affect the tuner if you mute the strings with your hand?
