Set the HD500 Output Mode to Studio - it's a global setting in the setup menus. If you ever want to use the 1/4" outs rather than the XLR, set the associated switch to Line.
-
There is a firmware update coming that is intended to address the lag and artifacts issues. We don't know when. But if you like the sounds and can be a little patient you probably will be happy in the end.

I am just sooo confused about the Lin 6 product line???
silverhead replied to howarddavidp's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
Try posting this in the AMPLIFi forum rather than here in the lounge. This area of the forums is less travelled, being primarily a place for non-technical, even non-Line 6, topics. Also try being more concise. Ask one or two specific questions at a time. My personal reaction to your lengthy set of questions was that it would take too much time to respond, so I moved on. Sorry. -
Describe in detail what happens when you try to update. Include info about your computer OS.

Vdi Cable And Battery Usage
silverhead replied to Goooner1's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I didn't know this - thanks for the info. I have done this occasionally for very specific situations when I want the VDI for Variax control and power from a Pod HD Pro and I also want to use the Guitar input for very specific features on the HD Pro that are only available with the Guitar input (e.g. Input-Z parameter, Dry Out). Guess I should stop doing that. -
Vdi Cable And Battery Usage

You are correct. The 1/4" cable feeds a single analog signal to the receiving device, as determined by the model/mags selector on the Variax. -
Vdi Cable And Battery Usage
silverhead replied to Goooner1's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
You can use both modeling and mag pickups through VDI. -
I suspect the relatively high mixer output setting (+8db) might also be contributing. This level on the wet path might require a relatively low overall Master output level. This, in turn, might result in the dry path having a very low output level - perhaps so low that it's not being heard/detected? If you're interested in testing this, put the noise gate back in Path B, turn Path B output to 0db in the mixer (leaving Path A at +8db), and increase the device Master Volume.
-
Glad it's working for you. Sorry that I caused you some frustration. Offhand I can't explain why you were getting no signal from the unaffected path without the noise gate in front. But since you've now got what you want I guess there's no point in worrying about it.

re: the echo...... make sure you turn the monitoring off in your DAW.
-
Have you tried using the HD500 as your audio interface? You don't need the UX1. Connect the HD500 USB to your computer. In your DAW (never heard of Skullcandy, but....) set the Audio properties to use the HD500 and its ASIO driver as the audio input./output device. Turn monitoring off in your DAW and use the HD500 headphones output to monitor.

There's probably already been damage inside the POD when the incident first occurred. Usually the fix to this problem requires a new chip inside the POD as well as a new USB socket. It's best to take it to an authorized Line6 service center.
-
Shouldn't be that way; the same signal (except for a D/A conversion) is sent from the POD over USB and through the headphones out. Something outside the POD is happening. Tell us more about your recording setup. Which DAW? What ASIO driver? Which computer OS?

POD HD500: How do I get sound to come out of computer speakers?
silverhead replied to Laznip's topic in POD HD
Assuming that you have tested that the POD is producing sound at its headphones output, the problem would seem to be some setting in your PC. Check your PC's mic/recording settings. -
POD HD500: How do I get sound to come out of computer speakers?
silverhead replied to Laznip's topic in POD HD
When connected via USB your Pod HD500 becomes your computer's soundcard. Use the HD500 audio outputs with your external computer speakers, or connect headphones to the HD500. If you do not have external speakers and are forced to use, for instance, your laptop's internal speakers you can do that by disconnecting your HD500 USB and routing the HD500 headphone output to your laptop's mic/line input. The sound quality will be greatly diminished - much like listening to your high-end home theater surround sound system using the earbuds you bought for $2 on your last plane trip. -
Yes. That should send the dry Variax signal out the R audio output and the processed signal out the L. Both signals will be mono, so avoid using any stereo FX in Path A. Worth noting here is that there is no FX block before the paths split. This ensures that the two Inputs are kept separate throughout the signal chain. Input 1 (only) is routed to Path A and Input 2 to Path B. In your previous setup the presence of the first FX block, before the paths split, routed both Inputs to both Paths.
-
The first FX block in your setup defeats your purpose because it causes both Inputs to be fed into both Path A and Path B (which are both stereo paths - not L/R). Try this setup: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/217206/ Adjust the FX and amp selections in each path but don't restructure the preset. Leave the mixer settings as they are. You can select Variax for both inputs and the signals will be processed completely independently and fed separately to the L (processed signal to your PA) and R (dry signal to your vocal harmonizer) outputs as mono outputs.

Recommended installation order for Line 6 on Windows?
silverhead replied to Vocalpoint's topic in POD HD
Start with Line 6 Monkey. Install that and then launch/run it with your Pod device connected. It will guide you through the installation of all other components. Begin with the Drivers and follow Monkey's prompts closely, especially concerning when to disconnect/reconnect your Pod device. Then the device firmware, and finally the edit program. The manual you cited above is titled the Pod HD ProX Edit installation guide. It only deals with the edit program. A word of caution though. Line 6 is still working on providing reliable Win 10 drivers for all devices and systems. You may find that you still have USB communication issues although you are using the right installation procedures. -
Any alternatives for Line 6 UX1?
silverhead replied to lemonjimm's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Sorry - but that made me laugh. Dumping on Line 6 for not being ready for Win 10, then recommending an alternative manufacturer that.... wait for it....is also not ready. -
Left Hand Guitars
silverhead replied to freddytwonotes's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Perhaps this discussion should be continued in one of the many existing threads on this topic, like this one: http://line6.com/support/topic/11587-yamaha-variax-left-handed/?hl=left+hand As usual, it's helpful to read the thread first and add something new, that hasn't already been said, if such a thing exists. Not trying to discourage discussion, just redundancy. -
Since you are still under warranty I would open a support ticket and get it fixed at no cost to you.

I consider the Bluetooth connection with the AMPLIFi and Firehawk products to be analagous to the USB connection with other products like the POD processors. It supports communication with a computer (iOS/Android vs. PC/Mac), permitting easy tone editing, tone uploading/downloading, and patch organization on the device. So the answer to the above question is..... it has the same impact that a break in the USB connection has with the POD devices. The thing is, for professional gigs no POD owner relies on the USB connection. They prepare their POD device with all the necessary patches in advance, and they organize those patches for convenient access and navigation during their gig. I think AMLPIFi/Firehawk owners should do the same: use your Bluetooth connection in advance, without the time pressures of a gig, to prepare your device with all anticipated required tones organized appropriately.... and don't use the Bluetooth connection during your gig. You need to be professionally prepared to perform professionally. If you want to jam in an unrehearsed fashion during your gig, or play unexpected songs..... then you should have your set of stock, flexible, go-to tones at the ready on your device. .... or you can plan to fire up your Bluetooth/USB connection and risk the impact if it fails.
-
The half star rating would be an average of the total ratings. For instance if five people rated the tone with 2 stars and five rated it with 3 stars the average displayed would be two and a half stars.
-
Customtone is a user-populated database of tone files, with no moderation or file checking. It is not unusual to have problems with downloaded files. In your case I suspect the most likely problem is a mismatch of Inputs. The downloaded file may have the Inputs set to physical inputs on the device that you are not using.

POD HD500 + Boss RC - 300 looper + line 6 DT 25
silverhead replied to sherimehmood's topic in POD HD
Have you tried placing the looper in the Pod's FX Loop and using the L6 Link connection from Pod to DT?
