I hope this hasn't been dealt with elsewhere but I can't find it so here we go. Having changed the layout of the pedalboard in which I use the HX Stomp as a brain, I wanted to set it up in order to have FS1 switch between two snapshots which I have done once again in the past. To achieve the desired setting I used command center and stomp mode and, while I got what I wanted, the footswitch light stays off regardless of which Snapshot I'm on. I'm pretty sure when I did that in the past I had the light turning on white, did something change with one of the updates? Currently I'm on 3.71.

I'm using a Helix LT on version 3.6. I'm trying top configure footswitches 1 and 7 to select certain snap shots. All the assignments are setup correctly based on tutorials I've seen online (see screen shot for example). This is not impacting the functionality of my footswitches at all. When I press footswitches 1 or 7, they cycle through my 8 snapshots rather than selecting the specific snapshot as programmed in command center. Global settings for footswitches are also shown below, with I've played with a bunch, no setting seems to allow me to actually impact footswitch behaviour with command center. I've tried setting this on both the device and using HX Edit. Any ideas?

Hey, Helix floor user with PC112+ and PC212+ stacked, connected using L6link. My presets are setup like a regular pedal board. I have effects, drives, delays, etc tied to stomp buttons in stomp mode and use the snapshot mode to change reverb, delay levels, combine some drives, and turn on or off certain effects (e.g. Rotary, etc.). I am in 10 stomp mode. My main presets are setup the same except with different amps. So each preset can do just about everything I want, clean to dirty to spacey just depending on which guitar or how much dirt I need. I just started playing with the command center. I found that in snapshot mode, I had a clean and dirty snapshots, but sometimes needed a boost for the lead. So in command center, I assign a button for clean and a button for dirty snapshots in the stomp mode. I already had a boost button in stomp mode. This works fine. So, for my question. Is it possible to have one button go between the clean and dirty snapshot. For example, I click it once and it goes to clean. the next time I click it, it goes to dirty snapshot. Is that possible. It seems like you can set it up to go to one snapshot "on press" and then another on "release"... however you have to keep it pressed down to stay in that snapshot. I also think you can make it go to a different preset, so I guess I could clone two presets and have one in clean and one in dirty, but that would jump to a preset and there would be a pause in sound. Another interesting thing I found was I had button 7 set in stomp mode to change the drive and the volume of the amp. I also had a snapshot for button 7. When I used command center to assign snapshot 7 to button 7, it's like it added the snapshot to the button. It showed "multiple (3)" on button 7 scribble strip. I could also press button 7 and switch between the stomp settings (amp values) and the snapshot. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Sorry for the long post, however thanks for your responses!

Hi everyone! Hope you´re doing well! I play my guitar and sing in my band and therefore I have my effects pedals on the left side and switch them with my left foot. I want the HX Stomp to be on the left side of my other pedals, so I need to put the Tap/Tuner to FS1 in order to have the rest of the switches in a row (FS2, FS3, Wah, Fuzz etc...) Is there any way to customize the tap/tuner to be on FS1 instead of FS3? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi there, everyone. I hope you all are healthy and had a good winter holiday and a smooth transition into 2022 ! I recently bought a HX Stomp. I use footswitch number 3 as Stomp 3 (set up in "Global settings") so footswitch 3 doesn't do tap tempo or access the tuner. For some presets I'd like to have footswitch 3 work as tap tempo for the delay time. I set up my delay time to 1/1 notes. In the Command center I set footswitch 3 to send MIDI CC , set the CC# to 64 and the value to 127. Still the delay time doesn't react to the tap tempo. If someone could tell me what I'm missing/doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Regards, Tobias

Hi folks. New Helix LT user here. I am having an issue with Command Center specifically configuring midi note on messages, to control the looping functions of my Elektron Octatrack. I have setup 2 switches in Command Center, both momentary. The first sends midi note 62 (D4), the second sends midi note 64(E4). It works, but for some reason one or both switches keep reverting back to midi note C1. I keep recreating the patch, saving it, but it keeps happening. Any ideas? Very frustrating, as if it would just retain my configured notes, it would work perfectly. The only thing I am not sure of is the capacative touch switches. Is it possible that I am touching the switch and moving the expression pedal to a value of zero and this is changing the setting? I have tried to recreate this scenario and can't. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, this kind of a complex statement but trying to build a YouTube preset. I have the footswitches running basic Play/Pause, Rewind, Fullscreen on snapshot one as momentary presses. Is it possible on snapshot 2 to have the footswitch configuration change to Drive, Fuzz, Chorus as toggles. I have tried editing it in the command center but the foot switches seem to be only one setting in snap shots. I'm using a Boss-MS3 to send MIDI commands to switch between snapshots. Just not able to get the footswitches to have different functions between snapshots.

Hello, NEED HELP...PLEASE! I have an HX Effects and I am using Command Center to program a button inside a preset to flip between snapshot 1 and snapshot 2. I have the button programed on PRESS/RELEASE so that when I PRESS it goes to snapshot 2 and REALEASE it goes to snapshot 1. I currently have it set as follows, and when press the button it LATCHES to snapshot 2, then when I want I press the button again it RELEASE and it goes to snapshot 1, this is what I am looking for! The issue is, I set this up in one preset, and when I went to another preset to repeat this process the button is only momentarily switched, NOT latching. What did I do right the first time that I am messing up on repeat?

Hey guys! Abolutely loving 3.0 so far. I have a MIDI related question that hopefully somebody can help me with. I am running my HX Stomp with a Specular Tempus and am having some problems getting it to communicate. The tap tempo is working fine from the Stomp but is it possible to programme it to do this: - Snapshot 1 in my stomp uses patch A in Tempus - Snapshot 2 in my stomp also uses patch A in Tempus - Snapshot 3 in my stomp switches to patch B in Tempus I don't want to change bank on the tempus - I just want it to change to patch B from A when I hit footswitch 3 (snapshot 3) and vice versa. I seem to have tried everything including the new command center but can't seem to get it to work. Is this doable?

Hi, I'm using my HX Stomp with 3.11.0 While I was programming my looper with command centre, I found if I chose action as "Press/Hold" the looper actually triggers when on Release instead of Press. Does anyone find themselves struggling with the same problem? I would love to use my "Press/Hold" but I can't even get the timing right because it's not on "Press".

Hi, actually I'm very fond of Command Center and its flexible abilities. Though I have one issue: I have two presets between I like to switch. I have dedicated FS5 via command center to switch to the other preset (In Preset 000 FS5 switches to 001 an in Preset 001 it switches to 000) This works fine, but not the first time after startup of HX Stomp. Just nothing happens when I press the FS5 switch. When I change the preset manually for once, everything is working..... This happens on Firmware 3.10 I consider that as a bug but maybe somebody has an idea? Thanks, Marco

There's no right or wrong answer here because I'm not having a "technical" problem. I'm just having trouble making up my mind. I simply would like to hear discussion from others what options they are using in the global settings for the snapshot/stomp modes/8or10 switch number, and "WHY/HOW" using it that way suits your own purpose/needs. Especially interested in how the latest Command Center update factors in to those choices if you are, in fact, making use of it. What about those who use the "looper" - does that have an effect on your global setting preferences? Unless somebody has already done a good, and broad, YouTube video on this subject - I really think this could be a head-slapping "could-a had a V8" thread for a LOT of people! If there's already been multiple threads on this kindly direct me to one of them - thanks in advance!

Is the new command center capable of assigning a button to be a momentary switch? I've been looking for infinite reverb (e.g. Big Sky) out of the Helix for years. I could swear that someone told me I could create a momentary button, assign a reverb to it, and hold forever as long as the button is pressed. I can't find the post and I can't see how to do it. Is this even possible? Thanks.

I have the Helix set up to send midi program changes to my Bias Amp to switch amps per snapshot. Problem is, when I switch presets on the HX EFX, I still have to go in and hit a snapshot to send the program change. I would like to change the amp when I change presets. Is there any way to send a PC message on preset change?

Somebody Sticky This! According to the manuals, this doesn't work using Instant Commands "At This Time". I called support to see if that's been fixed, since the manuals are so old, and the tech didn't know. So I broke out the old Radio Shack Multi-tester. It seems to work on both Presets and Snapshots using Instant Commands. EDIT: OK, just called support again, and they're (different tech) telling me that it works on Floor and Rack, but not on HXFX. EDIT REDUX: CONFIRMED - External Amp Switching with Instant Commands on HX FX WORKS! Thank you C4TH! SOMEBODY STICKY THIS!

Hello together, i come from Germany and my english is not so good. I have Issues with the Midi Implementation with the Helix and my JVM 410 HJS Head. In Preset and Stomp Mode I can teach Midi Commands from Helix to my JVM. Good so far. But in Snapshot Mode i can't teach the Helix to change CC# Commands. I instruct the Instant Button to learn the CC# Commands for my JVM. So well, the Value are working and move but the CC# Commands parameters do not move. Its still the same on all Snapshots. Presetmode not working fine because of interruption by switching Presets. I need the Snapshot Mode, definitely. I hope somebody can help me

My Helix crashes when I try to load a snapshot that has Midi Notes commands set up in the Command Center. I am running Firmware 2.82. Has anyone been able to find a solution? Here are some more specific details and examples:: If I am in snapshot one's Command Center and assign a foot switch to a Midi Note On command, I can load snapshot two just fine. I then can then make changes to the Midi Note On command(s) in snapshot two Then when I try to load snapshot one again, my Helix crashes, the screen is dark, and I have to reboot. The Helix would have a lot more value to me if I could use the same Midi Note Commands assigned to the same foot switches in all my snapshots for a preset. As it stands now, I have the Midi Note Commands set up only in snapshot one. I would appreciate your experience, insight, and suggestions!

Hey guys and especially Helix gurus! :) I have Helix LT and I am thinking about using it to control Ableton live for well, live playing :) the idea is to have couple scenes in Ableton representing different parts of the song and jumping between them using Helix. After messing around with couple approaches, it seems that for what I want to do something like this would work: 1. top four footswithes will be used to send notes to Ableton for Play, scene up, scene down, stop. 2. bottom four foot switches will be my basic stomps within a snapshot, so I can still turn stuff on and off - probably drive, delay, reverb and something. I was able to set it up, but my issue is with command center settings constantly switching the values of the notes to one value particularly, thus making it ineffective for changing the scenes in Ableton. It looks like it is caused by snapshots being in recall mode. In discard mode they stay set correctly, but that defeats the purpose of having stomp boxes in a snapshot, because in discard mode it always goes back to whatever it was saved with and that is not ideal for what I usually do. So I do not understand what I am doing wrong or why when in recall mode the command center settings constantly change when switching the snapshots. Can someone explain that to me? I am not very MIDI knowledgeable and I am also new to Ableton, but if I could make it work this way, it would be great :) thanks for help!

So with this new update and snapshots I have been messing with midi implementation of the command center to send multiple messages at the same time to my strymon pedals(mobius, timeline, and bigsky) and my effects gizmo, an effects switcher. After messing with it for quite a while I think I have figured how to switch everything. And thought I would share it. But had a question with tap tempo I have it set up as follows: Mobius--Midi Ch2 Timeline--Midi Ch3 Big Sky--Midi Ch4 Effects Gizmo--Midi Ch5 I have an instant command in the command center for each of these they all use the the same basic set up: Command: Bank/Prog Midi Ch: XX (this is which ever midi channel is listed above) Bank CC00: 0 (this can also be 1 or 2 on the strymons for presets 128-299) Bank CC32: off Program:(this changes per snapshot, this message corresponds to which preset the strymon/E.G. has) With this I am able to switch to any preset I have set up on all the devices all at once. I have two quick questions though, I have the mobius and Timeline set up on two different midi channels so that I could be able to use bypass on each one seperately, because of this I have run into two different issues. Firstly the bypass command for the strymons need to use Command: Midi CC Midi Ch: XX CC: 102 Value: 0 I've noticed that changing snapshots only lets you change the Value parameter, and the CC# stays the same no matter what on the MIDI CC commands. Is this a bug or is the helix not capable of doing this? Also the timeline and the mobius both use tap tempo controls but because they are on different midi channels I can currently only assign one or the other to the tap tempo footswitch. Is there a way around this that anyone knows about?

Hello! I have a Helix LT, updated to latest version, 2.21 and I'm using it to send MIDI notes to my Sub 37. I've set them up in the Command Center and it works well most of the time. I've got the display set in Stomp mode so I can see the Notes each button is programmed to. These icons light up when depressed, and go dark when I lift off. However, sometimes throughout the night, they get stuck "on" . and clicking on them has no effect. I have to changes presets back and forth to get these to reset properly. Please advise! Sid.
