  1. What is Helix HX? There is the Helix Rack, Helix Floor, and Helix FX. I though HX was the abbreviation for Helix, as in HXFX (Helix Effects).

    Reverbs

for a slapback type effect, predelay on reverb needs to be between 80-150ms. Slapback delay use the same time for the time parameter.
  3. My recommendation is to build ONE preset to cover your songs at church in the beginning. If this is your first modeler, I recommend setting up a preset that is same/similar to your previous rig. Once you have that nailed down, then you are in the same shape as you were before Helix. Then you can branch out to create more presets. One word of caution, creating a vast number of preset causes complications getting the volumes to "match" from song to song. I have one main preset that I use as my template. I have an amp, 3 overdrives, always on compressor, and a compressor that I turn on and off. I balanced the volumes of amp only and over drives with the amp, and compressor with the amp. Once I nailed down the amp/overdrive tones I am happy with, then I use that as a template for each song, adding time based effects or anything else as needed. We play 4 songs for our church services. I copy my template into the first 4 preset locations, then add delays, reverbs, and other effects as desired. Since doing that, I have actually kept 2 delays and 2 reverbs in my main template, just changing some parameters as necessary per song. Since I am using the same base preset template, there is no balancing volumes between presets.
  4. OOOhhhh, I did not know this. VERY handy info. I tend to use tremolo quite a bit.
  5. Any 212 cab suggestions you get will be subjective based upon personal preferences. It's just like asking a bunch of players about suggestions for a different guitar.

    Helix as Mixer

Backing tracks from laptop over USB IN 1/2. In Global Settings>INs OUTs set USB IN 1/2 destination to a pair of USB Outputs. That will get it to your DAW. So you can have: Guitar to USB 1/2 OUT Bass to USB 3/4 OUT backing tracks to USB 5/6 OUT
  7. I think there is a way to turn off Program Change messages when changing presets on Helix, but I am not sure where that resides in HXFX. I have HX Floor, not FX.
  8. I missed that part in your posts where it is the external pedal you are having issues with. If you have an issue with the Mission pedal, then you may want to reach out to them, not Line 6.
  9. Looks like there is already MIDI on the plus, perhaps for calling up presets. This is what the Line 6 website says: The Powercab 112 Plus not only responds to MIDI Program Change messages, it also supports Control Change messages, allowing complete remote control over various global functions and settings, as well as extensive preset editing capabilities.
  10. Yes, IR is a "block" that you put in the signal chain, then in that block you have to select which IR file it will be utilizing.
  11. I have the Floor model, and I did loosen the allen bolt a little within the first few days of getting the Helix. It was very stiff and if I remember correctly, the toe up position sometimes did not get to 100%.
  12. I first purchased my Helix Floor, then sold all the rest of my gear. Wifey was ok with that. I didn't have nearly the number of pedals you have, but now I have only a couple of external expression pedals, and am selling my last real amp this weekend. I was able to fully fund the Helix selling the pedals I had and one of my combo amps. I do have a couple of JBL EONs 610s that I play though at home.

    Power Cab 112

Wattage is not a gauge for "loudness". A 1000W powered speaker and a 100W Plexi Head (or 250W Powercab 112) are apples and oranges.
  14. If you have a few "must have" analog pedals, you have plenty of loops available in Helix to still use those. Sweetwater has a 30 day return policy, give it a try.
  15. What version of Updater are you using? Also, Line 6 has a support department that helps with issues. If you are using the most current version of Updater and have tried different USB ports on your PC, then open a support ticket so they can help you out. They don't browse this forum for support issues.
  16. Ok, now can we just get back to philosophical discussions about the tuner?
  17. Me personally I put the volume block after my compressors and overdrives, sometimes after my amp. If you put the volume block at the front of your signal chain, it is just like rolling off the volume pot on the guitar, so it's redundant.
  18. If you have a UPS/battery backup power supply, you can use that to see if it is power related. A UPS regulates the power to 120VAC no matter what the input voltage is (all the way down to 90VAC I believe).
  19. Line 6 switched over to a different company for their Forum. You guys just have to give Line 6 some time on little things like this. As we can see today they launched another new (and awsome) product. I am sure the "black bar thingy that everyone hates" was a little further down on the priority list.

    Power Cab 112

Prices are on par with higher end "FRFR" powered speakers like QSC, etc... Plus they have added features geared towards guitar use.
  21. In the search bar there is a dropdown on where you want to search. Maybe choose "forum" or something a little more broad.
  22. With the foot switch in the ON (illuminated) state, toggle each of your assigned blocks so that they are in the state you want them to be in with the foot switch on, then save the preset.
  23. Multiple parallel paths would be very cool in Helix...
  24. Open a support ticket with Line 6 so they can help you.
