no, the pod HD line is the only one that allows the editors to open without the unit attached.
-
good catch, the bass pod xt live is a whole different thing.
-
there are lots of model packs... i believe the FX models are in the effects junkie model pack.
-
you probably just need to calibrate the pedal from here: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd500-hd500x/pod-hd500xhd500-pedal-calibration-r161?st=0#comment_0

it's normal... the perception of sound at different volume vs different monitoring etc... there is no absolute translation... you just need to tweak the tone for it's ultimate purpose... meaning you may have a setlist for live vs recording vs practice etc....
-
won't work for crap.... monophonic... will start farting out if you try to play more than one note.
-
Yeah, works great... just go through the SPDIF menu in the pod and set your sample rate or accept the defaults.... should work either way.
-
you'll need to use 2 channels, in from the us1800, but you can select them as a single stereo channel in your DAW/ what i do (i have the same interface) is go in with the SPDIF, which i've set to dry in the setup menu, and also go into the rear 11/12 or 13/14 inputs on the us1800 you can of course just go with a single SPDIF cable wet and be done with it..... this is just so that i can record both wet and dry... you may not have the desire, just gives me options post recording... besides re-performing.
-
for simplicities sake i'd just plug the regular 1/4" outs into the other interface. just much easier to deal with a single interface. you could do it the other way but then you'd have to move your outputs too... not worth the hassle in my opinion.

yeah, as long as the pod isn't your interface. what i do is set the SPDIF to dry and go out digitally into my other interface, then i also take the standard outs into the interface as well so that i can record both wet and dry... but your interface may not have SPDIF, and you may not be trying to do the same thing.... anyway sounds like you're on the right track.

Plugin Gearbox For Os X 10.9.2
TheRealZap replied to ferrero's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Chas is correct, however if you have a gearbox plugin license you can get the upgrade to pod farm 1.x for free... however, many DAWS such as logic on the mac, only work with 64bit plugins now... so you'd need to upgrade to pod farm 2.5x -
I tried to help you many times, each time met with you basically telling me that i was wrong... now that you find that i may have been right all along... i'm the a-hole. let me personally invite you to stick around... lots more to learn and music to be made... I've been on these forums for nearly a decade... and although not always right... i do tend to know what i'm talking about (assuming i've understood the question). again you're welcome to stick around, make friends and interact with the community as a whole... if you choose not to, then best of luck going forward, you have some nice gear and i hope you enjoy it. Thanks

you need to plug into the guitar input.... NEVER plug "in" to an output. the dry out is to plug into another interface... always plug "an out to an in" and "an in to an out" engaging the tuner should give you the dry input into your DAW. the only other way is over SPDIF via another interface... or perhaps just selecting one of the "new tones" that come from the factory.

Run Like Hell - Hd500 > Dt50112 W' Telecaster
TheRealZap replied to PDKTDK's topic in Tone Discussion
you can't.... spider jam is spider III tones (probably pod 2 generation modeling) and this is pod HD (a few generations newer) and DT50 (same) not that you can't dial in something usable... but it would be uphill to find "that" tone. -
a horrible disadvantage as a mess of cabling and complication you don't need... a limit to a single topology, no access to many of the internal power amp settings, etc. when Line6LINK will work brilliantly if you'd spend less time insisting that it won't and more time figuring out where you're going wrong. although people like what they like... you're just over complicating it in my opinion. if you can't get a good tone with that setup over L6LINK then you aren't turning the right knobs or changing the right settings. would you just stick with a single thread on your journey.... it's all related to the same thing, and you open up a new thread every day hoping to get different answers.

technically any midi interface should be up to the task, we're just relaying that the most hassle free and most successful one is the m-audio UNO. you can always try other ones.. i've had mixed success with the cheap 5$ ebay one... i've had much greater success with the m-audio UNO.

What Is That Metalic Tool Plugged On The Back Of My Pod X3 Live?
TheRealZap replied to lamouche's topic in POD X3
It's likely an allen wrench for adjusting the tension on the expression pedal, but there is no picture. -
Can't Connect To Line 6 Server

any chance you're internet is satellite based? Line6 servers don't play nice with satellite internet. -
Need Real Answers Before A Jtv69 Purchase!
TheRealZap replied to linea06's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
i think he wants hotter pickups in the 89, and models to match... not that i agree... or have any value on that type of pickups... not my scene... and i can dial in 4000 different types of distortions elsewhere in my tone. -
hold down left direction key and power up/plug in... you likely had a patch from an older firmware... it happens sometimes.

Need Real Answers Before A Jtv69 Purchase!
TheRealZap replied to linea06's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
he was referring to the pickups on the 89, sounding different, than the modeled pickups on the 89 of the 89 if that makes sense. -
you won't see any new tones... some new features, and fixes etc... i think even the startup splash screen will be different.... if you're up to the latest, start trying the USB again. if the ESN is unknown or all 0's then it's not going to authorize purchased packs... since these are factory packs, i dont recall if they are preauthorized or still need the ESN to work. but flashing to the latest eliminates alot of possible issues.

Dt25 With Podhd500x - Sounds Better With Amps Bypassed
TheRealZap replied to GazzaBloom's topic in DT50 / DT25
there's about 3 years worth of help in the forums, and plenty of guys that are willing to help judging from this thread.... i just don't take it on anymore... because frustrated individuals like yourself, spend alot of time telling me i'm wrong etc... it surely sucks to be the new kid on the block, and everyone starts somewhere... it's not you really... it's just i'm not going to take this on to fully solve for you.... i've chimed in on the thread here and there to point you in the right direction... best of luck. -

TheRealZap replied to mrgruby's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
check the control panel applet, line6 audio midi... there are some settings there that may help.
