Line 6 Updater places the Helix in update mode automatically. There's no need to do it manually.

Sounds like you have a few things mixed up... First of all, if you're wanting to use the 4CM, the cable connections should be as follows: Guitar --> HD500X Guitar in, HD500X FX Send --> Amp Front Input, Amp FX Send to HD500X FX Return, HD500X 1/4" out --> Amp FX Return. Also, you need to have the mix control on the HD500X's FX loop set to 100%. You want everything to be a serial connection without any dry-thru.

Snapshots automatically recall the bypass states of all blocks in your snapshot (well, automatically depending on whether you have the Snapshot Edits parameter set to Discard or Recall. If you have it set to Discard, you'd have to re-save your snapshot/preset for the bypass states to be remembered.) You don't have to have to have bypass assignments for blocks unless you need to have the ability to toggle their bypass states individually on the fly.

It’s a known issue...

If these are the last items on their respective effects type lists (I believe they may be), they will disappear if there’s not enough DSP to load them in the preset. This came up before with the Cosmos Echo...

Yes, using just the left output of either the XLR or 1/4" output pairs will sum the signal to mono automatically. There's an easy way to test if it's working correctly. Just hard pan something to the right and make sure it shows up in the summed output.
-
I'm not sure I understand the question. There's already a mono version of the Double Take effect, and the only chorus that's not available as a mono version is the Trinity Chorus, iirc...
-
Yes, and there mono versions of the new reverbs.
-
I’m not saying the new reverbs will do everything the BigSky does. The BigSky has 12 reverb machines. But I think the new HX reverbs are definitely right up there in quality as the BigSky. Personally, I’ve never really used the BigSky up to its full potential... I only use a few of the machines.

For those of you who might need a little help with the 2.30 update:

Did you run the HX Edit installation package that installls the drivers, HX Edit and Updater? Make sure you don’t have the editor open as the same time as Line 6 Updater.- 26 replies

I imagine what's happening is Setlist 2 is sending out PC messages with a bank change message the GR-55 doesn't respond to.
-
Under Global Settings>MIDI Tempo, there is a setting called "MIDI PC Send" that determines whether the Helix sends the default PC message associated with each preset when you change presets. You want to set that to off.
-
Just right click on the parameter to bring up the controller menu for the parameter you want to un-assign and select “noneâ€. Not quite as fast, but still pretty fast.

To answer the original question, yes, the USB port on the G10 has been revised since the original release. Frank Ritchotte, Line 6's Senior Director of Operations, did mention on Facebook that they reinforced the input on newer units to make it somewhat stronger. If you have a G10 with a broken USB port, I would recommend opening a support ticket even if you are past the warranty period. Line 6 usually doesn't leave people hanging in these types of situations.
-
Added in 2.30... Helix FW: Global Settings > MIDI/Tempo > Duplicate PC Send—Before 2.30, Helix would purposely omit MIDI PC messages with an identical value as the previous PC message. You may now choose to send duplicate PC messages

No, it's not possible on the HD series... The amp and cab are always together, so the only way to approximate what you want to do is use two amp/cab blocks, like you said. This sort of thing is possible on the Helix, fwiw.

I think the DT blows the Katana away as far as the overall tone and feel... I know the Katana seems to be a hot item right now, and I guess for an inexpensive amp, it's OK. When I played through it, I thought it was very stiff and, well, just very solid state sounding. For the same price range, I prefer the Spider V. At least with the Spider V, you can access and edit every amp and every effect from the front panel if you want. With the Katana, the effects sections is limited, and there's no indication as to what the different effects are on the knobs on the front panel. As far as modeling matching the responsiveness of the DT25's tube power section, I think the higher end modeling units can... Not sure if the more entry level amps are quite there yet.

OK, you’ll need to open up a support ticket then. You should still be under warranty. I don’t know if you purchased the extended warranty they started offering, but one of the options with that had Line 6 providing you a replacement unit while you’re unit is getting fixed.

That’s not unexpected behavior. The Mode switch is toggling between Preset and Stomp Mode. You have Preset Mode set to 4 Stomps/4 Snaps. You have assignments for the 4 bottom footswitches in stomp mode, but none for the top 4. So when you go into Stomp Mode, those bottom four are just blank. It’s possible something else is happening, and I’m misunderstanding. Any chance you can put a video up?
-
The Mode switch is taking you into Stomp mode and you don't have anything assigned to the bottom stomps. This is the expected behavior. I'm not exactly sure what behavior you're expecting from the Mode switch, but what you're describing isn't unexpected.

There should be no more latency with running direct than running in the 4CM. If anything, the 4CM would have a little more latency because you’d have an additional layer of A/D conversion. If you’re experiencing latency going direct, it would be from something else in your signal other than the Helix.

Go to Global Settings>EXP Pedals and other Knobs 3 and 4, you can select the behavior of EXP1 and EXP2, respectively. You can set them to Per Snapshot, Per Preset or Global. From pg 54 on the manual: Determines whether expression pedal positions are recalled per snapshot, per preset, or applied globally. If you want a Volume Pedal or Wah to maintain its position when switching presets, set this to "Global."

This piece doesn't really have any "mad synth lines", but I created this with my Minilogue connected to my Helix awhile ago. I connected the Minilogue to the Helix via MIDI and sent MIDI Note messages to the Minilogue with the Helix footswitches. I had an arpeggiator running on the Minilogue to fill the sound out. I believe I ran the audio from the ML through the Helix as well here and added a little delay and reverb. The guitar and the synth were played and recorded simultaneously. It was more a proof of concept than anything. https://soundcloud.com/phil-miller-20/minilogue-helix

That's really the key... Once you start re-amping mulitple tracks, the time savings start to increase exponentially. With traditional re-amping, you have to let the song play through the whole way for every track you're re-amping. With re-amping in the plug-in, you can re-amp all the tracks at the same time, and you don't actually have to play through the whole song at all to get the re-amped tracks. You can just render everything down all at once.

UX1 No sound output through onboard realtek
phil_m replied to maiyak's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
The UX1 is a soundcard... So that's kind of the whole point. If you're using the POD Farm 2.5 plug-in, you can use it with any hardware you want though. What version of POD Farm are you using?
