  1. Yes, you can do this. But you will be dealing with running modeled into modeling. Not to say you can’t tweak out good tones. To use the FX100 with an amp it is typically preferred to go straight to the power amp, which you can’t do with because the Spider has no effects loop. Also, the FX100 will not integrate with your amp as a controller. The tones and effects are already integrated nicely for the amp. Have you installed the FX Infusion 2.0? IMHO the FX100 is better suited for jamming/recording with headphones, monitors, PA’s… I personally wouln't view as an upgrade to your Spider. But if you can demo it and it sounds good to you, that's all the really matters!!
  2. I wonder how it would handle chords. It would be interesting to try. From their demo video it does not seem to force the vocals to a chromatic note as the singer bends or "sildes" to different pitches.
  3. I wish they would add more Bass Amps from the Bass Expansion pack.
  4. It's strange, I don't feel old enough to be a grandpa, I definitely don't act old enough!!
  5. True story, ask my granddaughter!! Although her answer right now will likely be an impression of a monkey.
  6. Have you you tried the Mic Gain controls on the UX2? If it’s already maxed out you could call up (or create) a simple voice patch in POD Farm and adjust the volume in the patch, for example the volume on a preamp model. Yo might also be able to open the mixer in Windows (assuming Windows) and turn down the volume of your browser.
  7. Sounds like this is an upgrade to a Hardware Enabled license. If that is the case, then yes, you still need the DI as a dongle. You could try running the Line6 License Manager and authorizing your Computer to see if you have access to the models without the DI plugged in. Sometimes it gets a bit squirrelly with promotions that were offered before Line6 offered a Hardware Independent version of PF 2.5.
  8. Official announcement from Line6. http://line6.com/support/forum-70/announcement-70-ios-9-compatibility-statement/ In the meantime, do you have access to an Android device to hold you over?
  9. I get some of the noise that I think you are referring to with those patches, only tried one guitar so far. But I don't think anything is wrong with you're UX. You could try normalize your dry track in your DAW to see if it sounds ok. But I think what you're hearing is mostly a combination of the gates and compressors exaggerated my the hi gains in your chains, with possibly a bit of interference, a wireless router, or ??? On my system if I focus in on the noise floor I can hear all kinds of "computer chatter".
  10. In no way am I meaning to pile on frustrated users here, only offering up another perspective. In Analytical Chemistry, companies easily spend $100,000 to $500,000 on one instrument. The software that comes with it is typically supported thru the life cycle of the current OS it runs on at the time of purchase. Even though they release patches as new updates and SP's come out for the OS, it is well communicated not to install them until they have a stable patch, let alone jump to the next OS. So what typically happens is that OS isn't touched, or at least that is what the group that uses these instruments would like. But of course to remain on the network, updates are automatically pushed out for security reasons, even though most IT departments will not support these types of 3rd tier software. An alternative is to purchase a non supported, non networked, essentially crippled, computer running a $500,000 instrument. :o (I wonder. is this a frigging circus or something??) When a new OS comes out you typically have to purchase new software if you want to run on that OS, this can easily be $1,000 to $3,000 (or more depending on the system(s)). Multiply that situation by how ever many of these types of instruments you have. What the!!?? We drop that kinda dough on just one instrument and we need to purchase new software for each OS? And Analytically Chemistry is but one genre in the Life Sciences field. Talk about a money pitt!! End of said perspective (and a bit of a personal rant).
  11. Glad you got it sorted. There was a thread in the past (I think) where a user reported some weirdness if preset A in bank 1 was modified before anything else, but it may have been for the TT or one of the AMPLIFi amps.
  12. Does this happen with a particular bank or any bank?
  13. No problem. btw, the reason some models work in PF2 is because it is the free trial version.
  14. So can the newest version of Monkey see the UX now? If so, do you have green ticks for drivers and POD farm? In Reaper you need to select Line6 ASIO as your device and enable inputs 1 thru 4. In POD Farm you configure the 4 sends, the screens a slightly different between PF1 and PF2. A typical workflow would be to capture wet and dry tones simultaneously then apply the plug-in to the dry track post processing.
  15. Can you post a screenshot of what the settings, or better yet the actually preset file?
  16. I'll take a look later at the presets later tonite, but on the cheap pc speakers I have access to now, nothing sounds too out of the ordinary. When you say DI, how are you capturing these files, the dry tone from the UX2 via USB?
  17. The old GearBox Gold Bundle should have all the tones in PF1, the deal was pre PF2. If you upgrade to PF2 standard, you should have access to all the tones you had available in the Gold Bundle. What I am not 100% certain of, is if the DI-Gold Package was the same as the bundle. Either way, if you purchase the POD Farm 2 standard, you have 30 days to get your money back, just do not purchase the i-Lok version, it is nonrefundable.
  18. What I am asking, is can you download the newest Line6 Monkey directly from the site? Also, do you know what version Monkey you have? POD Farm does no recording. Is this an older red-faced unit?
  19. Are you able to download The Line6 Monkey directly from the Downloads page?
  20. +1 to Silverhead & BillBe If you purchase the Hardware Independent License you will also have access to any other model packs you previous purchased. POD Farm 2.5 Platinum will give you access to all the packs. So depending on whatr packs you already have you might want to consider the price differences.
  21. Do you have any amp sims in your signal path in POD Farm 2? Did you run the License Manager?
  22. Are you selecting Mic as your inout in either the Line6 Audio-MIDI control panel or POD Farm?
  23. That's exactly what I was thinking!!
