That’s usually the way it works if you need to know something. Also, your attitude could do with being re-adjusted. You are on your own from here on in, Slick!

Hi, https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a418962611d636e7c51b/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D - English .pdf Pages 45 - 48 Covers the Command Centre and all it’s various functions - i.e. MIDI CC, Program Change, Note and MCC Commands. Plus QWERTY Hotkeys, Footswitch Snapshot, Looper and Instant Commands It’s doesn’t require a reference in the MIDI section, it’s listed on the Contents page in bold, black letters. The manual is your friend. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, To properly and fully uninstall “Boom2” you need to run the software provided by Global Delight. I have not used this app, but looking at the FAQ page on their website it seem that the driver for Boom2 takes over from whatever else is installed. It might have “removed” the Line 6 specific driver. In theory your Mac should revert to the Core Audio driver in the OS. It seems to me that this situation has been caused by the Global Delight app and in that event when you try to re-install the Line 6 driver it might be being blocked by the OS Security software, but you are possibly not seeing that. See the link that I posted in the reply to “perlan77” above. The same information about Mac Security has been listed in the FAQ section of the Boom2 pages. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, You didn’t say what version of OSX you’re running, but you may want to read this. Hope this helps makes sense.

Hi, “So it seems, that I am not the only one.” Hmm. Well, if that is the only other post that gives a total of 2. As the other post that you flagged is over 3 years old (and never had a single reply), it appears that the OP has never visited the forum since he last checked in way back January 2019. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for a reply. This place is a user group and is not routinely visited by Line 6 staff - see the second black banner “Why is Line 6 not responding” at the top of this page. The best thing to do in these circumstances is to raise a ticket with Customer Support, as the whole issue of USB is surrounded by some sort of Voodoo beyond the skills of people here. EDIT: The only solution provided here is, if you click on the question mark inside the black dot in the lower right hand corner, there is a link to USB Connection Issues. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Help Needed - want to play along to Backing Tracks
datacommando replied to beatty2387's topic in Helix
Hi, Nope don’t get this at all. ”I am wanting to use headphone out of the helix into the headphone port on my windows computer then play to backing tracks YT” I have no idea why you would think that the headphone out could possible send a signal to your PC’s headphone socket. It’s physically wrong. The PC headphone socket is a one way street - audio comes out, it cannot go in. You need to connect your Helix to your PC via a USB cable, then you set your PC to use the Helix as the audio interface. Then any audio from your computer plays back down USB channels 1 & 2, through the Helix and out to the Helix headphone out, plus whatever Power Cab monitor speakers are connected to the digital, XLR and 1/4” outs. I suggest that you read the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev F - English Pages 68-71, USB Audio https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf You might like to check this video about using you Helix as an audio interface. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
There hasn’t been much use in this thread either - it’s over four years since the OP made his last response. ;-)

Hi, If you create a preset in Helix Native that contains Snapshots, when you export the preset the Snapshots are also exported in the file. See the Helix Native Pilot's Guide - Rev O - English. Pages 37-39 You can access the guide from inside Native by clicking on the Question Mark icon in the lower left corner of the window between the Gear wheel Icon and the My Accountlog in button. How this helps/makes sense.

Helix USB won't connect to Windows 10 or HX Edit
datacommando replied to rockmancentral's topic in Helix
Hi, Not sure if this is relevant to your situation, but there has been previous discussions regarding Windows and HX Edit failing to launch. Check this link to see if you are suffering from the Disk ‘0’, SD Card problem. Also this thread, Hope this helps/makes sense. -
It certainly does if you read, study, and follow the information given in the release notes in the link which I posted earlier above. Especially the section which states: Anything else I should know? Yes. We STRONGLY recommend performing a factory reset AFTER UPDATING your Helix/HX firmware to 3.11 and THEN RESTORING YOUR BACKUP. (Backing up is part of the update process). Here's how to perform a factory reset. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FIRST, AS A FACTORY RESET WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Helix Floor/LT: While holding footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), turn on Helix Floor/LT Helix Rack: While holding knobs 5 & 6 (2 furthest right knobs below the screen), turn on Helix Rack HX Effects: While holding footswitches 6 & TAP (2 farthest right switches on the bottom row), turn on HX Effects HX Stomp: While holding footswitches 2 & 3, turn on HX Stomp HX Stomp XL: While holding footswitches C & D, turn on HX Stomp Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi Dan, That’s just the way it works, it’s more of a sketch pad for ideas. If you really need to store loops for later playback you need an external looper unit with that capability. I own 3 different models of looper for exactly that purpose, depending on what I want to achieve in a given situation. That’s why Helix has the facility to use Send/Return and FX loops built in. Simply patch in you specialist looper of choice. For example: BOSS RC-30 Loop Station has 99 memory slots. Ditto X4 can store loops and backing tracks using a computer. Ammoon Stereo Looper - ultra cheap looper capable of storing 10 Loops up to 10minutes in length There are just a few options. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi Brian, Don’t Panic - It is very rare that a glitch in the firmware will actually turn your device into an paperweight. You mentioned that you were updating your Helix LT to the latest v3.11 firmware, but didn’t say what version was already installed. The reason I mention this is because, IIRC, the “boot failure” is actually part of the 2.8 update process, when the main system core was modified. It seems to me this happens when trying to update from firmware versions prior to the core change. See link below. O.K. Let’s try this to see if we can “kickstart” your hardware into update mode. Remove all Line 6 software from your computer especially the Windows drivers and then restart your computer. Make sure to turn off the power to your Helix. Unplug the USB cable from the computer and Helix. Hold down FS6 & FS12 and the turn power on and when Helix logo appears, quickly release both foot switches. Leave it powered up. Download the and install latest HX Edit v.3.11(with all the drivers included) Reconnect the USB cable to Helix and computer - Do not use a Hub. Find and launch the Line 6 Updater and re-install the v.3.11 firmware file Hope this helps/makes sense. No guarantees are given or implied, you do this at your own risk. If it doesn’t work, raise a ticket with Customer Support. Hope this helps/makes sense.

What are these buttons? Logic Pro or HX Native?
datacommando replied to JoeyAce's topic in Helix Native
Hi, As noted by “soundog” in the post above, they are extra buttons included in the Logic Pro plug-in window. To find out more about them and also how to switch the function off in a plug-in window header, check this link. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/logicpro/lgcpbc21a1fd/mac Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, Read, study, and follow the information given in the release notes in this link and it should be a trouble free experience. As you are coming from a “tube amp purist” background, please be aware that you will not be getting the trouser flapping effect of standing in front of a smoking Marshall stack on stage. It is more like listening to a fully produced guitar tone while sitting in the control room of a really well equipped recording studio. Prepare to be amazed and remember “All Presets Suck” (quote from Digital Igloo - Eric Klein, Chief Product Design Architect, YGG/Line6/Ampeg). Prepare to create your own for the best possible result. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, If you are in the U.K.the authorised repair shop is: http://www.eandm.co E&M Electronic Services Ltd, Unit 28, 56 Goulds Close, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, MK1 1EQ Give them a call to see what the procedure should be - your warranty has probably expired now. Hope this help/ makes sense.

Hi, What you have encountered is an over zealous “Gatekeeper” that is inbuilt to the Mac OS. Read this, which will save me having to type out the same old thing one more time. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491 You don't really need to use the Line 6 Utility unless you have a failed update. Follow the advice give by "silverhead" in his post above and you should be golden. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Good point, how will it benefit the victim, other than to know that it has be reported as stolen? As you point out, the "new" owner could well be unaware of the theft and has unfortunately become a hapless dupe in this situation. If a person buys a "pre-owned" item in good faith and then has the police knocking at the door, it could become more than a little awkward. I suppose it has been done with good intention.

From Frank Ritchotte - posted on Facebook - sadly not here, but here ya go! Line 6 Helix Family User Group OFFICIAL and ORIGINAL “Hey everybody. We know you hate gear theft and so do we. Our CS team have worked with our IT group to add a “Mark as stolen” button in your account. If your gear is stolen you can activate this feature and if a support or any CS call comes in we will be flagged right away. We will then inform you. This feature is live now Click the edit’ icon for any registered product. It now includes an option to “mark as stolen” Thank you! Frank-“ So now you know! Edit: Strangely enough I can’t find the “Edit Icon”, but I haven’t had anything stolen yet.

Hi, You only said that the unit does not contain the 4CM presets, but you didn’t mention if the other factory default presets are in there and fully functional. If your unit is gleaming new straight out out the box the factory presets should all be there. Usually when weird stuff happens, and you cannot find things that should be there, a factory reset will put it back to normal. If you’re absolutely certain that Presets are not there (and possibly all named “New Preset”) you could do a factory reset by holding down the footswitches labelled C & D while powering up. If you have created some of your own presets already make sure to back them up first using HX Edit or they will be erased. You can load them back in later. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, From what you have said in your post, it looks like you are attempting to update your Helix floor from v3.01 to 3.11, but you are unable to create a back up using the new HX Edit 3.11 software. If that is the case, then I would suggest that you revert your copy of HX Edit back to v3.01 and perform the backup using that version. Once you know that you definitely have a fail safe and functional backup copy of all your stuff, then you can proceed to update your hardware to the latest version whilst ignore the prompt to make a back up. I’m not entirely sure this “automated” firmware update process has ironed out all the “teething troubles” yet. Hope this helps/makes sense. Edit: My Helix floor is hooked up to my 32 Gb iMac 27” Retina 5k on High Sierra and I have never encountered any of the issues that regularly get posted here. I must live on a ley line or be very lucky.

Hi, This might seem obvious, but as a new user it’s advisable to familiarise yourself with the basic operation of your new toy. The HX Stomp 3.0 Owner’s Manual is a good place to start and you will find “How can you change banks without using your hands” - it is designed to be a floor based unit. You will also find how to use Snapshots and Control Centre that allow you to change multiple parameters and effects inside a single preset. Furthermore, HX Edit is free software that works as a (Windows/Mac) computer based editor and librarian system for your hardware. This allows you to create and/or edit presets using a graphical interface while connected to your Stomp via USB. Check these links. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a418962611d636e7c51b/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D - English .pdf Don’t like reading - here are the basics videos. plus Of course there is always Jason and his real in depth videos. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Can't get Helix Native to start after log in
datacommando replied to JamesM105496's topic in Helix Native
Hi, Sadly, we have no idea if Line 6 is helping anyone with this, as this is just a user group offering peer to peer assistance. Staff from Line 6 don’t monitor these forums and very rarely visit here as you can probably tell by the fact that Digital Igloo (Line 6 Product Manager - Eric Klein) last updated the Release Notes for Native 1.50 in January 2018 and we are now at v.3.11 almost 4 years later. If you do get a solution for this from Support, please post the response here, as it may assist others. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, again. Hoping for a different answer will not change the facts and make your Mission Aero EP-25-PRO pedal suddenly work with your HX Effects. The OP stated that Mission had explained, “Unfortunately, HX Effects does on support external footswitches.” The post from “phil_m” above also confirms what I had previously pointed out in the other thread you started, where you asked about this. “On the HX Effects, the jacks can be set up to be expression inputs or amp relay outputs.” Hoping isn’t going to change the way the physical unit functions. Hope this helps/makes sense.

A couple other options that they suggested to a guy who appeared particularly outraged about the lack expression pedal input: "As we already mentioned in previous answers to you, you have at least 3 different ways to connect an expression pedal. Either via Control Chain, USB MIDI, TRS MIDI or DIN MIDI (using a TRS to DIN adapter)." Then they also say in another post: "Here at MOD Devices we pride ourselves on doing things that nobody else does, in a way nobody else does." Well, that's certainly true! I don't think I will bother with any of their stuff and just stick to what I know. :-)
