  1. There's also a parameter in global settings called Snapshot Edits (Global Settings -> Prefernces). Use that to specify whether you want your Snapshot edits to be retained or discarded as you move between snapshots within a preset.
  2. Yes - the human ear has evolved into a very sensitive sensor!
  3. HX Effects. No amp modeling but all the HX and M13-class FX with midi control of the DT amp. Also supports 4CM for full flexibility of pre- and post-amp FX placement.
  4. Have you assigned the string volume parameter to the Snapshot controller?
  5. When resolved, could you please update us on the exact problem/solution? Might be helpful in case this happens to someone else. Thanks in advance.
  6. I would just wait a while. The authorization is pending - perhaps because the de-authorization has not yet been completed in the background ether. Be patient. If not OK soon it may require some manual intervention on Line 6's part. Bad timing given the holidays? Contact Line 6 Support.
  7. The ribbon connector failure is certainly possible. In any event I think it's hardware. I would open a support ticket.
  8. I've never experienced that. If it's power related as you suspect you might try using a power surge protector (if you're not already) between the M20d and the house power outlet. You could also try another power cord connecting to the M20d. This might tell you whether there's a problem with the house power, the cord, or whether it is indeed inside the M20d. If it's a problem with the M20d it's likely hardware and will need repair.
  9. These options are found in Global Settings -> Footswitches. You can't really force the device to 'use only Stomp Mode Switches'. In other words you can't disable the MODE switch - the other modes are always available through that. I'm not sure but perhaps the display state that is active when you power down remains active next time you power up. In that case you can simply power down while in Stomp Mode with the 8 or 10 Stomps selection. That way you can choose to never use the Mode switch which means you can 'use only Stomp Mode Switches'.
  10. If you do buy the HX Stomp I would not buy a regular guitar amp to go with it. I would buy a good FRFR speaker (PA speaker or studio monitors depending on whether or not you plan to play outside your recording studio). There's lots of info about this on various threads in this forum but the bottom line is: a regular guitar amp and an amp modeller have to fight with each other in terms of who's in charge of the preamp and cab sounds. Duplicating the model with the physical rarely sounds good. It's more complicated to get good sounds with that setup. Not recommended for a modeling beginner.
  11. You don't need to use HX Edit to back up, but you do need to begin by downloading and installing HX Edit. Otherwise you may not have the compatible version of Line 6 Updater and whatever (if any) drivers you need for the Mac environment. Try again, beginning with instructions for firmware prior to 2.71 or earlier. Follow the instructions exactly (except for the actual backup part if you wish). If you can't get it working open a support ticket.
  12. I agree with the above. You mention recording and the Spider V amps come with the Cubase LE recording program so that's an advantage too. But mostly it's just a much simpler all-in-one intro to amp/FX modelling. You can always step up to Helix later if you want but with Helix you will also need other equipment and it's hard to decide what other stuff is best until you've gained some experience. These Spider amps will hold good resale value. Compare the specs of the various models to choose what's best for you. Personally I think the V60 is a great mid-range featur-rich product if your budget allows. It has a 10-inch speaker with plenty of power if you ever want to join a band, a built-in looper that will give you hours of fun and practice, and built-in wireless receiver if you ever want to go cord-free.
  13. You can test this out for yourself using the free trial period of Helix Native. It has a hardware compatibility mode that will let you compare the supported preset structures and limitations. Download some full Helix presets and examine them in Helix Native set to Helix compatibility mode. Then experiment to see to what extent they are compatible, or can be recreated, with HX Stomp mode.
  14. The Firehawk FX is still a good choice, imo, for those like you who value simplicity and mobility. It still does today what it was designed to do several years ago. There will almost certainly be no further firmware updates but it is still supported in terms of getting help in case of hardware failures. I don't know exactly what bugs you are referring to but I wouldn't count on fixes at this point. I have owned a Firehawk FX for several years and have not had any Bluetooth issues other than occasionally having to forget/reconnect the device. However I know that many users do have issues. I suspect it sometimes has to do with local factors such as other Bluetooth devices in the vicinity, and there's no predicting how your environment will perform. Also, remember that this is a user support forum. The people who come here are generally those who encounter problems. You don't hear from those who are perfectly happy and satisfied. I think if you were to count the number of people here who are reporting problems, and imagine how many Firehawk FX devices have been sold worldwide, the ratio of users with problems is pretty low. That's not to minimize the issues but just to say that the likelihood that you will have serious problems is quite low imo. (I'm talking about actual serious bugs - not design preferences.) I say go for it. Since you're already leaning towards it there's a much better chance that you will be happy than disappointed.
  15. Make sure the UX2 is selected as your audio device in both Windows and OBS.
  16. .... It was a PERFECT phone call......

    2013 HD500X

No, there have been no hardware changes to the POD HD500X. There are many reasons, including the guitar, that downloaded patches don't sound the same as the creator's recording.
  18. Ha ha... This reminds me of a Christmas gift I gave my Dad when I was about 10. It was a baseball glove - size small. I tried it on and it fit perfectly. But my dad was over 6' tall. I really enjoyed that glove!
  19. Cheaper than a Helix and much more versatile for guitars. https://line6.com/variax-modeling-guitars/variax-standard/
  20. I also get no lag when switching snapshots with your preset. I do notice something a bit unusual and want to make sure you're doing it intentionally. Your Output blocks in Path 1 are both routed to Path 2A. Your Path 2A Input block is also assigned to Guitar. That means your incoming guitar signal is being processed twice - once through both Paths 1 and 2, and again only through Path 2. If that's not intentional try setting the Input block of Path 2A to None.
  21. Make sure you are using Pod Farm version 1 (not 2.x). That is the version that your Pod X3 entitles you to.
  22. I'd be cautious about doing that, especially publicly. I've seen Ownhammer representatives on this forum. That would be a clear violation of their IP rights I expect, unless you have some relationship with Ownhammer that we don't know about that entitles you to do this legally.
  23. This is a user forum. To contact Line 6 support you should open a support ticket (see Support tab at top of this page).
