cdkane
Just wondering, now that the POD HD can accept model packs is it likely we may see more in future or will this 3 be it?
TheRealZap
I imagine if these ones are successful anything is possible. don't think you'll get any sort of official confirmation though. that and i think they pretty much cleaned up all the most requested amps.... so a new pack that people would buy would contain what new amp models? They do pretty much have them all, but there are a few more I'd like to see done in HD: Marshall 2555 Silver Jubilee w/Marshall 4x12 w/Vintage 30's Mesa/Boogie MK IIC+ Fender Super Reverb Demeter TGA-

ofirdr78
any Markbass for Bass, Randall satan, Randall warhead, Schecter Hellwin, Hughes and Kettner CoreBlade any Diezel (like the pod farm has - the Deity one), but HD,
kronda
I hope for a new FX model pack, something like FX Junkie for XT but given the range that HD has already I'm not sure if there is enough interesting FX within the reach of HD DSP (as I don't expect polyphonic whammy etc.). In terms of amps I probably wouldn't care for more. Anyway I'd rather have multichannel (wet+dry) USB recording and POD HD Farm VST...

cruisinon2
Just wondering, now that the POD HD can accept model packs is it likely we may see more in future or will this 3 be it? In all fairness to L6, I think we should give everyone a chance to finish b1tching about the current model packs packs before we start demanding more stuff to whine about... :P

gunpointmetal
A boutique pack would be kind of cool. I'd rather see some more advanced cab models or effects add-ons, as I think they've covered all the bases in the amp section (well, maybe more for bass for recording purposes). The whole wet/dry via USB thing would be the balls, as well.

No one expects Line 6 to put a new pack out next week. Any good company love hearing what their customers think...good or bad.
radatats
yeah, we've been down this road before. Already done other threads on cabs, IR's effects... I agree we already have enough amps but always glad to get new ones. However, a pack with just new cabs and mics or a pack with just effects like new, updated distortions and overdrives would be a great addition.
Charlie_Watt
More options is always better! I would think that Line6 would be working on this if they think it will sell more hardware.
MartinDorr
My gut feel is that L6 is working on an HD line or HD500X successor. While really nice to get our hands on, I think the model packs are just a bridge stilling our hunger for 'more'. I expect FireHawk-like user IF with HD modelling and increased DSP power coming up next.
JTSC777
The Dumble in my first generation Flextone amp was the bomb! I kept that amp for years because of that one killer model. I would gladly pay $49.99 just for that one.
kronda
However, a pack with just new cabs and mics or a pack with just effects like new, updated distortions and overdrives would be a great addition. Well, since the FX in HD are M-class which means quite old, I'd guess that's what Line6 could be working on next - new FX models. The question is whether any remodelled "HD" FX would be offered for the current HD hardware or whether that would require a new unit (both from the technical-DSP point of view or a business one). We'll see ;)

pianoguyy
I don't see too many more models coming. A few more, but not a litany of choices. I do, however, see more models being available for newer units. I can't imagine that the current pods were built with enough spare hard drive space to allow for too many more models. Plus, think about it, how many amps throughout the history of amps have a distinctive and iconic tonality that we would even want them. What are they going to do, sell Marshall MG models? Samick makes some amps, maybe we can clone them. I know, Kalamazoo! Eventually, they will have all of the main and secondary amps. Anything more than that is a waste of time. Maybe you don't need them all and could just load a custom list of the ones you use. Another great idea was to be able to mix and match pre and power sections like you can with the DT. That would pretty much eliminate the need to ever add another amp to the list as the possibilities would be endless.
leesteel
It would be an added value to be able to remove amps, cabs and fx we are not using. There are several amps that I will never use.

JTSC777
I still have a 2.0 kidney bean and the Dumble and the original Pete Anderson Deluxe are in there.I must try it with a power amp and cab! I have never used it much. My son has recorded extensively with it.

silverhead
My gut feel is that L6 is working on an HD line or HD500X successor.... I find that hard to disagree with.... At any point in time, historically and into the future, Line 6 (and every other product-based company) is either: - working on a next gen product, as you say, or... - working on going out of business. mcbeddall
There will be something out this year I reckon, on Facebook they said something like "2015 has been a massive year so far for line 6 and we only just got started" that was posted after namm and all the Firehawk/variax/wireless announcements

Not always...some companies (which I won't bother to name so as not to offend...but they run the gamut from guitars to motorcycles and everything in between), thrive on the relentless pursuit (and comically agressive marketing) of "tradition"...mothball scent available for a modest fee. It's a wonderful excuse for not bothering to try anything new, and a terrific way to keep overhead low, if you don't have to hire and R&D department. Dshow
I already have too many amp models in my HD500 without the packs ;-). Only use 3-5 of them. But always good to have some options. I'd rather like to see a successor of the HD500(x) too
Charlie_Watt
Options are always good. I don't use that many amp models but I would opt for more options to use. Never know when I might find one I really like. For now I am a Fender model guy. I also own several fender tube amp clones that I built. IMO, the pod sounds just about as good as the real deal when you tweak on it.

sidroe
Just an idea but I would like to see something along the lines of the Custom Shop in Amplitube where I can buy individual amps, FX, or cabs so I don't get stuck with four or five amps in the pack that will never be used!
