Nope. The subject has nothing to do with a new update. Advertising from promotions@line6.com

This seems to be advertising - not really personal but annoying

FW 1.12: for good order's sake ;)
-
Hopefully not ;) Helix hasn't reached its potential of software developing yet - and look at the ideascale list for this version!

Go ahead and make a A/B recording so that you (and maybe we) can hear what's going on...

If you have already updated Helix or Helix Rack’s firmware to 1.12: 1. Install the 1.12 Editor update, available at http://line6.com/software/. Check the “Beta†box. If you have NOT already updated Helix/Helix Rack’s firmware to 1.12, please follow the instructions below: 1. Shut down all Line 6 software as well as any software that streams audio, including, but not limited to: iTunes, Spotify, DAWs, etc. 2. Use your CURRENT EXISTING Helix application to back up all of your presets and IRs. If you’re running Helix FW 1.06 or 1.06.5, your current Helix application version should be 1.04. If you’re running Helix FW 1.10, your current Helix application version should be 1.11. 3. Quit the CURRENT EXISTING Helix application and download and install the NEW Helix editor (1.12), available here: http://line6.com/software/ This also installs the newest version of Line 6 Updater (1.09). 4. If you’re using Helix Rack with Helix Control, turn off Helix Control. 5. Using the new Line 6 Updater (1.09), update Helix (or Helix Rack) to the newest firmware (1.12.0). If you’re using Helix Rack with Helix Control, after Helix Rack has been updated, connect and power on Helix Control, and it will update automatically. 6. Using the latest Helix editor (1.12), restore all user presets and IRs.

Helix as USB<>VDI Interface for JTV Variax Workbench HD Editor?
klangmaler replied to stevekc's topic in Helix
...is it still at the top?! -
Yep, use the editor and load the IRs to a shaft number. When you add an IR block, you have to dial that number. Furthermore, maybe some of these customtones may help: http://de.line6.com/customtone/search/?submitted=1&family=helix&search_term=acoustic

When it comes to MIDI, almost everything happened to me in the past :P What about the pitch shift midi effect in Ableton?
-
You're not sending notes, actually... To keep a long story short: This could happen, if the MIDI implementation (slightly) differs - in this case using Ableton (live?) and L6 Helix. There are thousands of products on the market that use MIDI - and often enough there are (even bigger) differences in using MIDI ...

Sorry, but that's exactly not what I intended (although a second trial sometimes isn't bad 'per se', of course ;) ), because even downloaded and bought presets are affected by this problem... Trying to summarize: Booting up the helix, messages like 'rebuilding preset' occur. They don't take long, so additional milliseconds shouldn't be the point. But: What and why must be something rebuild - and what does it mean if the next time Helix reboots and the messages are still there? Additionally, Honest Opinion reports crashes of the editor depending on 'rebuilded and saved' presets. So far L6 stated elsewhere, that I doubt that it is "simply caching"; I think that presets obviously have to be transformed ('rebuild'), so that they work with a new firmware fluently. So the 'problem' is highly likely (ta-dah!) the upgrade to the new firmware(s). I had a certain success with pressing FS 10&11 during bootup - Then everybody should get that message - and that's it ;)
