    the XT and the HD use completely different power supplies.. the XT is AC and the HD is DC so i don't think you'd find one to power both....

    doesn't matter... if you pull the switch the amp will internally use the full model, regardless of which one is selected in the pod.

    it can be used in conjunction WITH the UX1, but the sounds would come from your computer via other software.

    haha... you don't say.... my point was only that if you dont want something specific in the firmware, you're only asking for a higher version number.... or perhaps you want a firmware that makes your colored backlights go blinky blinky with the music?

    change the levels and resave them.... the trick is leave the master alone... use the channel/drive to set the volume and then save... once they are leveled as you like...(some would be intentionally louder for leads or quieter for other passages) then the master will raise and lower them all to the relative level.

    pretty inaccurate too... you do realize that you are switching to full amp models and not preamps+real tube amp that's the difference between full mode and low volume mode... granted it sounds pretty good anyway... but there is a difference :)

    was just giving another side to the coin dude.. nothing wrong with the way you use it... i have the DT50 and probably use mine much the same way... just throwing that knowledge out there... wasn't meant to be a direct quote only a paraphrase to put the knowledge drop in context.

    I'd also suggest that your request is invalid without mention of what the supposed update would address.... because i'm sure that the line6 monkey himself could change the version number and release an "update"

    either way aggregating the soundcard moves it outside of ASIO compliance (although mac's use coreaudio and not ASIO typically) the whole point or goal of an ASIO driver and why you need all the inputs on a single device... is because the internal timing needs to be controlled by a singular hardware clock to avoid variance... (jitter\wow\flutter\latency\etc) it's really not worth pursuing... what is worth pursuing is finding a new single device that suits your needs. there are some devices that can cascade and use multiple devices synced to a single clock.. think UAD Apollo... (or 3000$ per 16input... but more than a simple interface it can do some UAD hardware DSP processing) anyway... that would be far out of my reach money wise... what are you trying to do that needs so many outputs?

    uninstall ASIO4ALL it's a crap hack that's unneeded... unless you are attempting to use both devices at once, because real ASIO does not support that... not to mention your results would be miserable... the windows mixer won't who all the ins and outs of the interface... try opening your DAW and setting the input on a track. also don't use audacity... (which may be why you have ASIO4ALL installed)

    It shouldn't work at all... I would think it'd be risky to use it since neither of your devices has an amp or is designed to push a 4x12.

    you're right, the DT and the HD use the same preamps... I also think that although billy was getting "good sounds at any volume" with his DT50... he's missing the point of a genuine tube amp rather than a model... if you aren't pushing the tubes to their limit you aren't quite getting the real deal.... that's why people pay hundreds of dollars for attentuators rather than just turning the volume down.... and it's also why a cranked/pushed DT25 might be a better option than a cranked/pushed DT50 for many... because the DT50 is too loud for many situations when properly cranked.

    I think your drivers need uninstalled and reinstalled. the screenshot above only shows the digital out as available and as default.. so unless you have something hooked up to your SPDIF out you wouldn't hear anything. it should show a "speakers" option like the line6 device in my screenshot.

    the registration should have no bearing on the drivers.. although he should remove it from his account and you should add it to yours just to be correct in that area. have you inspected the physical USB port? having tried multiple computers, it seems like an issue with the pod.

    i believe the answer is yes you can control gearbox via midi... and pod farm 2, but not pod farm 1. I've not tested it personally, but seem to recall an upset user who didn't want to pay for pod farm 2 to get the midi functionality he had in gearbox.

    have you gone into the windows mixer and selected the toneport as the default audio device?

    there are no licenses available for the hd500 at this time, so there is no risk there.... and downloads are freely available as well... I buy/sell/trade on craigslist all the time... for the most part fairly successfully.... if the deals right i'd have no problem with used, from craigslist or elsewhere. the original receipt is pretty much the warranty... you have that in your hand and you can get warranty service for the remainder of the warranty.

    I don't have a specific answer, but the answer that I'd heard was that they tightened up the specifications. even if they told me what specifically changed i'd have gave them a blank stare and said.. "so it's ok now" and that would have been that. :)

    is it the plugin you can't locate? because the plugin was not included in the redface UX2, if you have that one.

    the HD500 effects are from the M13, it came after the vetta i believe and are well regarded... like everything else it has it's critics... but i think it's alot better than the X-series effects, which might have been closer to the vetta effects.
