  1. Love Korean made guitars myself. ESPs mainly, I have a few of the older ones MII and a Mirage and the LTDs out of Korea are really really close in quality (the higher series ones mind you). I screwed this one together using some headphones - never touched the EQ and it is volume knob responsive for the grit. Hopefully it will be closer to what you were looking for. It does give that good mellow drive on a neck pickup around the 12th. Just a generic SD JB clone in the bridge and a SD Jazz clone in the neck so nothing unusual pick up wise. Mr-Mac.l6t
  2. Hmmm odd one my man, have you tried manually installing the driver and then see if Monkey picks it up?
  3. Well you have a great setup my man, so I'll grab something with a humbucker and just go to the headphones to keep things simple. There is a football game on tonight so I can noodle around while watching that (US Football btw). ;)
  4. Nothing can be more frustrating than chasing a tone by throwing $$ at it. Lots of great effects units out there for sure. For S&Gs why don't you list your XT setup. Guitar/pickup->XT->(amp?/powered speaker?). I want to say that the AC30 had some pretty nice breakup and you could dial in the gain.
  5. Oh TBH my man I am in the States and its been quite a while since I bought the packs. I know this problem has popped up before - last year and I think it was a matter of selecting the country you are in (probably so they can add fees) :) I'll take a look around when I get a chance. EDIT: Damn - that was a f-ing maze. Go to the top on this page "Support" in there should be a link to get a phone # near whatever country you need or shoot an email at them.
  6. I hear ya. Technology for amp modeling is like that, more flexibility = more options = more tweaking. I do have the Pod Pro and an XT Pro too. The XT Pro is the same as the XT Bean but has more outs. Now the Pod Pro, based off the Pod 2.0, is a great sounding unit IMO and does generic tones well - I look at it as more of a multi FX unit than a modeler at this point in the evolution of modeling. BTW you have set the output mode to Studio Direct for the XT right?
  7. Some teles do have some pretty hot single coils in them. If I get a chance over the next few days I'll dig out an XT and screw around with it. It does high gain metal real well so just edge of break up there. But do try some of the other cabs. Freddie is my 2nd fave King after Albert :)
  8. Well jumping from a Spider II head to a Spider Valve or HD150 to an XT is going to be different but The XT can do a break up bluesy tone. Sometimes you have to switch cab models around too. I had this old vid booked marked from years ago and it might help you:
  9. That's a good idea PG gave you. If (or should I say when) you get the model packs you will already have the firmware installed (& global eq too btw).
  10. Depending on your OS choose the matching one too. 9/10 there should be no issues but if there are the solutions can generally be found in a forum thread. So no kicking anything! :)
  11. Went to hit the eq/boost for the solo of Big City (Scorps) and started the puppy off with a nice clean chorus tone - oopsy!
  12. Grab the Ole Lady and a bunch of straws. Tell her its practice. :) or try a different room. :)
  13. I don't think L6 has ever accepted PayPal - you have to use some type of Credit Card. I think even a pre-paid one would work.
  14. That might be it Alex = I gotta read better. :) I missed the part that it goes back to normal. Hopefully that will solve it.
  15. Its a toughie to say regarding the Spider being cranked I have heard that as well but opinions vary. L6 uses some pretty nice speakers IMO. As loud as that puppy gets it will most likely be mic'ed on stage so you just need it for stage volume (and what the soundguy can feed to you).
  16. Hey there, the Roadrunner pedalboard/bag fits perfect and the L6 one is real good too. Just be sure NOT to get the L6 one for the FBV you need the one that fits the XTL/X3L/HD - its wider.

    x3 dual tones

What do you mean by "original software"? If you did the reset, and firmware shuffle it should be at factory settings. Now if you mean somehow "roll back" the hands of father time and get your lost presets back? No, not unless you saved a copy of them.
  18. The Valve King is pretty f-ing sweet my man. A TS in front of that with a strat is a winner. A lot depends on the price and how much you want to invest. Tube amps do require periodic maintenance and the Spiders are not everyone's cup of tea. Besides if needs be I think the Valve King has an FX loop you can put a modeler into so you can abuse the tube power section. \m/
  19. Next thing I would try is another power supply. If you don't have one borrow or see if a local store will let you use their PS in the store while you jam. All in all if its not software, its most likely hardware. So if nothing else helps its probably time to contact L6 and put in a support ticket.
  20. All good advice. Just try to remember the signal chain you see in HDEdit is what would be on the ground if you had a box of pedals and a room of amps. It can get quite overwhelming and can cause a patch scramble tossing things together. Start simple just an amp and maybe an overdrive. See how the different cabs and mics shift the tone. Build up from there. Most importantly stop once in a while and just jam. -B
  21. Your gripes regarding Custom Tone are a repeat of every generation Pod Owner. Just wait until the same bad patch gets uploaded and uploaded (and uploaded) as if the next generation fixed it. Madness I say.................. :)
  22. I would contact Line 6 via a support ticket - link up top "Support". They will have a record of your PF and Exp. Pack purchases and make sure they are linked to your account. License Manager is what tells everything is "good" and if that isn't doing the trick then something is off. -B
  23. I would take a look at the manual. IIRC the SIV 15 has the FBV port so you can switch the 4 channels but only to what you have saved them as. I think that was what you were asking.
  24. Not even a whisper, but there are a slew of amps like you said. Now an IR pack would do wonders for the currently available models. :)
