Fire up the Line 6 Monkey and see if every thing gets the green ticks for everything being up to date, like the driver so the UX1 can connect.

POD xt Power supply verification
BillBee replied to jaymo99's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
My XT uses the PX-2/2g. 9v AC 2000 ma. I can't comment on the other one but it should list the specs. If it matches the above it "might" be one of the early adaptors. But it shouldn't get super hot. -
I have good luck with DeOxit contact cleaner. Give the switch a squirt, work the button a bit give it one more and hopefully that will be it for a while. One of the reasons I am hoping the Bean will come back with midi ports.

Have you tried the HD Edit for the HD300? Go to the top of the page Support->Downloads.

Off hand check to make sure you are using the EXP-2 setting and check the cable - its a standard 1/4.

Line 6 Edit issues
BillBee replied to guitaristdharris's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Try using Gearbox my man. But for L6 Edit make sure you have Java updated - IIRC that caused some issues in the past. -
i want to have more amps with the pod farm 2
BillBee replied to phenix9's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
No, not really if you really want them. Some examples: I have packed my lunch for work and brought my own coffee to save money and it added up. A member here sold his old model pack license at a really good price. There have been the triple pack sales. Once in a while you can find PF being sold on fleabay (but be careful). If there is a will there is a way. -B -
He is talking about the EQ on the "mixing board". AFAIK X3s never had a "global" eq. So its a per patch job. You could try enabling the fx loop for all your patches and put in an external eq pedal. The loop placement is pretty basic in the X3L and its been a while since I used it so you will have to trial and error your way a bit. That all assumes you are going XLR out to FOH. I suppose you could just go 1/4" to EQ to a DI to FOH too. Hope that points you in the right direction. -B

Gotcha Alex! My djent is weak but my "b" is not flubby! :D
-
I am not familiar with the band but for my 7 String I usually run a compressor to keep the bottom end from going all flubby.
-
Hmmmm -> high patch volume = good, low patch volume = bad. Plug a set of headphones into the HD and what do you hear? Probably the sound the patch was made to sound like (good or bad). I am thinking you are using the HD's signal to drive the Vox's pre which would sound pretty good - like a giant expensive Tubescreamer. Just thinking. B

Xt Live Into Effects Loop Of Marshall Vst 100
BillBee replied to nenic's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Necro thread! \m/ Hey there, I have a VS100 head and have ran the XT Live the same way, it does sound great through a closed back 2x12. Run Studio Direct then try the other output modes to see what gets you close to what you like. Fine tune with the EQ. Its a Valvestate that you want to run an XTL into - what kind of integrity are you hoping to save? Yes, the VS can sound good if a decent guitar w/decent pickups is played decently into it. Plugging an XTL "can" sound great "if" you put the time in and build some quality patches. Tip: Customtone is not the solution - learn to build your own tones. -B -
Its GAS my man - symptoms include short attention spans and high expectations. :D Though some of those Code 50 tones sound real good. But its all good in the end - buy it. try it, don't like it, flip it. With the competition driving the market you may even get a Pod Andriod Editor one day. :)

Awesome! Step 1: Ask Nico. :D -B
-
Yeah I think something fairly fundamental has been missed in the setup. :)
-
Step 1) It should auto detect the mic for the effect so set it to something different like "same". IIRC setting input 2 to mic forces it to be a well a mic and won't allow the effect to be used. Step 2) There are some old threads here that cover it better but use a google search like: hd500 vocoder as it seems to dig up the "oldies". Step 3) I Never use the vocoder myself but you could always change the patch as an easy method though there probably is as assign you can give it. Enough steps? :)

Go to the top of the page - Support-> Downloads. Put in product and OS then choose the latest and greatest. Don't use a usb hub, try other usb ports, try a different usb cable - those are the next things to look at.

floor pod plus midi
BillBee replied to russellhossain's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
The FPP is not a audio interface like the other Pods. The midi/usb is for the editor and probably for midi control (though I haven't tried that). It lacks a usb port. You could probably get a separate interface and run it into that though. -
Ha ha ha Matty - almost got me going!! I deleted and typed a rant 3 times. :) But yep local scenes can be a meat grinder. Rock On! B

This is a really good thread on the 4CM setting the loop levels and the functions: http://line6.com/support/topic/2040-pod-hd-500-the-fx-loop-attenuates-the-signal-at-the-send-jack/ Its just too big to boil down but its a good read as it is dealing with the gain structure you described. Hope that helps you. -B

Well the RP1K I think is AC and the HD DC - I wonder if that is doing it. So what PG sez seems to be in the right direction IMO though you probably already plug everything in the same outlet. Love those Randall Heads too - RG100ES here - gain gain gain. :)
-
Hey Matty, One dude here uses an external EQ in the FX loop to do the Global EQs job (though I suppose you could slap it at the end too). There are some pretty small 6 band ones out there if you really have the need to tweak. Soundmen are good and bad too so its a tosser. If you get every thing cool running to the board they should just run your channel flat but there are always the exceptions out there. :)
-
Well add it to the "wish" list my man there are a bunch of items, no % for EQs, resizable, etc.... One thing you can do is make patch templates so when you want to use a frequently used setting just copy that patch into the slot and adjust as needed. Line 6 Ideascale is the place to go for suggestions and if I could paste a link for you I would. :)

Which Bandit? The 65, Sliver Stripe or the trans tube Shefield. :D Now let the pigeons loose!

Hey my man!I got this a while ago and saved it. It might have been off of TGP and could be based of off PF's findings even: Crazy I had to borrow a co-workers laptop to quote and paste :D Hope that helps. -B Parametric EQ : - You can set a frequency, the width of the range to boost/cut, and the amount of boost/cut. It also has bass/treble controls, but you cannot control their frequency or shape. If you need parametric EQ features for more than one frequency, you can use more than one parametric EQ effect in your chain. You could probably use 8 if you really wanted. Parametric EQ measures Frequency in terms of % instead of Hz in the theory. - One of the best evaluation up to date I could found is the following: - 0% : 45Hz ; 5% : 75Hz ; 10% : 105Hz ; 15% ; 135Hz ; 20% : 175Hz ; 25% : 220Hz ; 30% : 315Hz ; 35% : 395Hz ; 40% : 540Hz ; 45% : 700Hz 50% : 880 Hz ; 55% : 1150Hz ; 60% : 1400Hz ; 65% : 1670Hz ; 70% : 2000Hz ; 75% : 2300 Hz ; 80% : 2750Hz ; 85% : 3150Hz ; 90% : 3600Hz 95% : 4000Hz ; 100% 4500Hz - "Lows" cuts/boosts all frequencies below 200Hz ; shelf EQ - "Highs" cuts/boosts all frequencies above 1500 Hz ; shelf EQ - small Q : large width of frequencies cut/boost - Large Q : small width of frequencies cut/boost 15% : to use if the tone is too bass heavy. 45% : mids about 600-800Hz ; to be used with a fairly small Q value 55-60% : must be boost to have more presence of the upper mids (1-1.6 Khz). 80-85% : upper high mids ; don't boost to hard after that point (nasal sound) In principle, frequencies above 5000 Hz are not very present with guitar loudspeakers. - Mid focus EQ : -Only boost frequencies, not cut. - gain is cranked up by defaut. It must be set back loww to avoid clipping. Studio EQ : - Typical use : Roll off the high and low ends (it is not really a bandpass) Low freq : 5-10% (75Hz-105Hz) / Low gain : -1 ; -3 db High freq : 95% (4000 Hz) / -1 / -4 db
