Looks like tap dance lessons!! If / when line 6 implements a scene mode, your problems will be hopefully be solved.

I've tried the Helix pitch shifters and the Digitech drop. Digitech drop wins. On lower power chords the Helix does fine but on higher strings, there are artifacts that you get when harmonics between the two strings aren't perfect. Thesee harmonics sound very unnatural in the Helix. The Drop handles imperfections better.

Install the optional Helix chimney. Use butane to model the tea light candle.

Mission pedal only for Helix Rack version. I think pedal has two out and the rack unit has additional jack for toe switch.

I went with this...... gator g-mix 12x24. http://line6.com/support/topic/16319-found-a-helix-case/ look at evilbert420's post with pics then I bought a cheap harbor freight "metal" case for cables (audio and power and extention cords), di, mics, etc. Also I hate wrapping a cord in any form besides a circle, it makes bends that don't lay flat.

I agree, the Helix is very fast when using the units interface. I hope the editor has the ability to click a parameter and type in a number. Great for those big parameter changes that seem to take 100 turns of the knob. I do put the Helix on my desk, but it sits too flat so a seated position is too low, too much glare off screen at angle. And a sheet music stand is to unstable. With the time they seem to be spending on it, they are hopefully taking all of our concerns to heart.

I know calibration is automatic, but I wish there was a calibration function. I have an expression that goes 0 to about 98 or so, unless I press hard. And 90 % of the sweep is at the last centimeter of travel. Log vs linear make no difference. I know its most likely due to pot sweep inside. Bring on manual calibrations. It would be nice to set the ends and middle.

Went thru the site. Awesome! I especially liked the wiki references. Cool to see who used the amp and in the songs they were in. A good reference for tone. Great job. Bookmark bar worthy!!

I haven't tried, but duncann above used chapstick. No liquid to run and wax stays put. Is there any reason not to use chapstick. I was thinking unflavored. Or will it go rancid?

I agree but it's nice to show the "other" guitar player thier level, if you know what i mean.

Plus if I find I fall in love with a certain amp in the Helix, I may be inclined to buy the real amp.

Watched them. He sort of defended line 6. I see it as Line 6 went in and modeled the components of the amps, in a sense, no different then Joyo, Bulgera, Behringer, etc. Kemper takes the actual tone generated from the amp and copies it. The crappy part I see is people buying the amps, profiling them, then returning the amp.

http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Seperate-global-eq-s-1-4-xlr/804057-23508 Here's one too. Adding headphone, or heck even all outs would be great.

Is there cable or sat tv near your setup. My cable TV line had like 40 volts bleeding to my stereo. Weird things happen to me it seems like the power in that room or something on that circuit is bleeding some voltage to ground or neutral.

Interesting. I made patches on my mackie MR8's and my TS110A's, when I went into our pa. The sound was way too thin. Opposite outcome. Feb 26 we play at a place I remember being bass heavy, we'll see what it sounds like. Sorry about your experience. You can't say you didn't try.

Who would like a Line6 FRFR Cab specially for Helix?
Joepeggio replied to Paolo_Maina's topic in Helix
Or this? Although a bit overkill for a stage level, guitar amp look a like FRFR http://line6.com/firehawk/firehawk-1500/ -
We hope they implement the splitting of the pre and amp sections of the full amp. Many were hoping to also mix and match various amps for some unique tones. Maybe not for the same reasons brought up here but same outcome.

I think I've read some where that if you set 1/4 to instrument and no effects active, volume knob full up is unity. Try it out and let us know.

PROCEDURE FOR ASSIGNING MULTIPLE BLOCKS TO A FOOTSWITCH
Joepeggio replied to HonestOpinion's topic in Helix
Save save save. In fact save after every 1 or 2 assigned. Just a quick double press of the "save" button.- 15 replies

Sucks to have audio issues. My helix is dead quite. Interesting things happen when different equipment is connected. When I connected to the board, I used get a weird noise. I found it was the bass amp DI to the board. They didn't play well together. Isolated one of them and silence. JamzOR, maybe and hopefully you can find another Helix nearby and test it out to see if it's all Helixies or if you got a bad one.

This is something that has been brought up. There was and still is talk about having a seperate amp block along with the current pre and cab options. With the past bugs line 6 was dealing with and the strong desire to get a desktop editor out, some of the line 6 folks mentioned how those were priorities. This idea may come, but i agree they need to address the current apple OS issues, the editor, and some bugs first. But good to keep it alive!!! Here is an ideascale for it. Vote it up! http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HELIX-Allow-the-power-amp-to-be-used-as-a-separate-block/727260-23508

Cool. Don't let the Cinci fool you, I'm in Kentucky! Independence.

You need to turn on the input monitoring in logic. On the track. I think its an "I" button. Not able to look now.

I have the same problem. What i do is up the output block or you can go put a few gain blocks at end of chain for recording (stereo). I try to keep unity gain in my patches. I play a raw guitar and go from their. Too low for recording without a boost. The 1/4 and xlr are post d/a converter and have gain stages and options. I assume spdif is pre d/a so no analog staging. I dont know how hard it is to tell the digital info in realtime to be louder. I know the dsp's have the power to do it but i think the spdif is post dsp. I wouldnt want to waste dsp on spdif. I presume not as simple as a volume knob and keeping digital without converting twice.
