  1. Are you on version 2.20 Editor as well? Sometimes if you are using an older editor, it gets quirky. Sounds like you are not on the current editor. I am running 2.20 and don't have any crackles or pops, and many others out there don't either. Sometimes if you have "trails" on in a delay or reverb, kicking in a drive or high gain amp while the delay or reverb is still trailing may result in a crack or pop. Sometimes the vintage digital delay will do something similar if the headroom parameter is not cranked up a bit.
  2. I've used a Mac for months with no issues without the driver.
  3. About the same price as an AxeFX II XL...$2400 or so... :) Actually, I have everything I need with the HX Floor unit. Just waiting for some reverb updates in the future. B)
  4. Google translate: By Making 4 Cables Connection and Sets the Stereo Cable to Can Change Channel on Amplifier Using the EXT AMP helix output, how do I configure the pedal so that a change of patch Do I also change the Amplifier Channel? I just got it and I'm doing a toy job to understand it too because there is no manual in Italian. Who can help me? Thank you.
  5. I leave my Helix and powered monitors on, but switch on/off power at my UPS. It won't hurt anything, even if you switch on/off a power strip to the Helix.
  6. It would be impossible to make channel switching work on EVERY amp out there. So many amps do it differently. Helix has switching that works on a lot of amps, but not all.
  7. cycle power on Helix and monitors and see if it comes back. Also, check fuses in monitors if they have fuses.
  8. Are you using the vintage digital delay in your presets?
  9. Always have an identical backup unit that can be switched out in a few seconds when your paycheck depends on it.
  10. I've been using the deluxe comp exclusively for a few weeks now. Seems very transparent to me and not very squishy even at 20:1. It just normalizes things really well. I haven't tried it in the middle/end of the signal chain though. I may give that a try.
  11. You may need to do a firmware update to the latest firmware. It takes care of a "sleep mode" issue of the transmitter not going into sleep mode and draining the battery prematurely. There were some other bugs that it fixed too, but I can remember what those were.
  12. DI keeps reminding us periodically that on board cab ARE IRs, they just have more built in functionality (mic placement, room reflections, etc...) that standard IR files.
  13. In the past I was making a preset per song. Now I have narrowed it down to just a few different presets built around a particular amp/cab model. All the presets are basically the same with a different core tone from different amp/cab. I sprinkle in a few effects as necessary. So, I just pick the appropriate core tone preset for the song and play away.
  14. The drive/distortion models in Helix are SO much better than the M series. And the Helix stacking a LOT of effects without a glitch.
  15. ...and you won't break anything in the modeled world. The worst that can happen is that it sounds like crap.
  16. I do this all the time with snapshots, not stomp mode. You can change up to 64 parameters (theoretically) with a single snapshot.
  17. There will always be a lag when loading a new preset. That's just the nature of digital hardware and software. It is the same as loading a new page in your browser. It will never be instantaneous. Snapshots still has a lag, it's just short enough where you really don't notice. Even with the shot lag between presets, certainly you can find a 250ms gap during a song live to switch presets if you absolutely have the need.
  18. Well that's pretty much uncalled for. There was no criticism in any of the above posts. There are a LOT of people that ask questions on here that are indeed answered by looking through the manual as well as getting a new user on the same page in terms of terminology. I doubt lashing out will get you much help. \ Blessings...
  19. Start a support ticket with Line 6.
  20. Watch these videos too. You may pick up a few pointers. http://line6.com/helix/resources.html
  21. Post a pic of your preset, that will help. I have a feeling that you are trying to connect path 1 and path 2 so it is a "super serial" workflow.
  22. I keep going to Mesa Mk IV Channel 2 for my Strat sound, especially on neck and neck/mid pickups. Very versatile amp model cleans up very well, and can get some great mid-gain punch. Hiwatt and Matchless for cleans for sure. DrZ Rte 66 on my Tele for quite a few.
  23. Great idea. Just have the preset remember what mode it was in when it was last saved.

Global Settings>Ins/Outs>click over to screen two>set your 1/4" or XLR outputs appropriately. If using XLR, set it to Mic.
  25. Does it pop if you turn your volume pot on your guitar all the way down before switching off the tuner? If you are getting noise through your pickups, it may be enough to open a noise gate and hit your high gain amp model, creating a pop. If that's the case, you may need the gate on the input signal of the preset, as well as a hard gate after your amp model or cab.
