No - they are not transferable. Best you can do is try to manually recreate them using the HD500 Edit program and the Firehawk app simultaneously.
-
The usage instructions are on the web page. Make sure you have downloaded the correct version. If you have, and it's not working, maybe someone else here can help you out. I can't.

It might just be a failed external power supply - the cord/box that connects your POD to the power outlet. If possible try a different one, but make sure it is fully compatible with this: http://store.line6.com/accessories/power/dc-3g-power-supply.html

No JTV Set-up Info from Line6
silverhead replied to Guitarkyller's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Anyone can learn to set up their own guitars. It takes a bit of knowledge and practice, not a lot. Any experienced guitar tech can set up any guitar to a player's taste; there are some personal variables involved including preferred string gauge and playing style (hard or light touch). There are essentially three things involved: setting neck relief using the truss rod, setting action using bridge height, and setting intonation using saddle placement. A Google search will tell you all you need to know about standard 'specs' for neck relief and how to set/measure it. It depends primarily on string gauge and fret size/height. The JTV spec is gauge 10 strings. JTV59 frets are Jumbo size, but I had mine replaced with standard size because the jumbo fret height was causing intonation problems with my heavier touch. Action is a highly prersonal preference. My observation with JTV guitars is that I need to set the action a bit higher than I normally like in order to ensure that there is absolutely no fret buzz. The JTV piezos do not like fret buzz, especially on clean or acoustic tones. Setting intonation requires a good tuner, not manufacturer specs. I encourage any experienced guitarist to learn how to do their own setups. It's really not hard or intimidating. You just need a little practice. -
Jtv-59 Selector Switch Not Working
silverhead replied to ltmsc's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
If you have one of the early JTV-59 units you may have a faulty switch that Line 6 will repair under warranty. In any case you should open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 to resolve this. -
JTV connectivity to use Workbench question
silverhead replied to Topaz's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
All you need is the VDI connection to the HD500X. Workbench will communicate with the JTV and you don't need the battery. -
Yes you can update via the app and its Bluetooth connection to the Firehawk. However it takes much longer because of the relatively low speed of Bluetooth.

Firehawk FX/app does not support older model Variax 500/700 300/600
silverhead replied to kimdrawlings's topic in Firehawk
I am using a Variax 300 with the Firehawk. The Firehawk app successfully controls the Variax 300 model selection and stores/recalls it with the preset. However, the Firehawk app does not detect or respond to manual changes to the model selection made on the guitar. I expect this will be addressed in a future firmware update but no guarantees. -
Can you Save the Down Arrow position in Signal Flow View?
silverhead replied to mike-w's topic in POD HD
I don't think the user has any specific control over that. If so I've never heard of it. If the current arrow position is not automatically saved with the preset and restored on recall (and I presume you've tested that) then I don't think there's anything you can do about it. -
Thanks for the clarification Tony. Sorry for my misinformation. I presume the release notes for the firmware update will clarify whether or not a factory reset is required after the update. So users should carefully read the release notes to know whether or not they need to back up all presets before updating (although it is good practice to do so anyway).

A firmware update with Firehawk will replace existing presets on the device. Back up all your presets to My Tones before updating.

Recording levels on M20d
silverhead replied to TheLonz's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Each of the 10 mics has its own input channel, right? And phantom power is on? Correspondingly, each channel has its own trim setting. Are each of these sufficiently high? Sounds to me, with output levels as high as you mention, that the individual input trim settings may be too low. -
Recording levels on M20d
silverhead replied to TheLonz's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
You should not need to set the outputs high; just adjust the trim levels. The recorded signal for each channel is tapped just after the trim, and no channel processing is applied. Each channel is recorded dry to the SD card. The mixed wet stereo output signal is also recorded with all channels processing applied, but 'they' shouldn't need that. They should be able to transpose the dry channel signals to their laptop from the SD card and then do whatever processing they want, if any, using whatever software tools they want. You could probably advise them on simple solutions for that. Sounds like a simple software mixer with some EQ and reverb would suffice. There are probably free versions of these available. Then set your outputs low enough that your in-room amp/speakers can sound good. . -
I know that Line 6 is aware of this. We'll have to wait and see whether and when they may be able to address it in an update. But in any case, for live play it is best to not use the app. Prepare your presets and song list in advance then use the footswitches to navigate to the appropriate preset for the song, based on your lyrics and chord charts. Running the app will always create a longer lag when switching presets due to the need to keep the device synced with the app. This is true even when not switching your attention to another app in the iPad.

firehawk fx remote app is out. what do you think?
silverhead replied to devilinside82's topic in Firehawk
You need to connect the Variax to the Firehawk using the VDI connection. That's how the modeling is controlled. Bluetooth is used to send info from the app to the Firehawk, but the modeling info can't be transmitted from the Firehawk to the Variax without the VDI I connection. -
The Edit program makes this a lot easier. You just drag and drop presets. CTRL drag/drop copies a preset; basic drag/drop relocates presets. Experiment to discover the difference. Like Charlie said - don't forget to SEND SETLIST to the HD device when finished.
-
Use this preset as the basic structure. Modify as desired but don't change the overall structure. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/215659/

You could install iTunes on your PC, then upload your PC-based song library into iTunes. Once it's there, in 'the cloud', you should be able to access it on your iPad.
-
Did you perform a global parameters reset? You need to do that too after the firmware update. Also best to recalibrate the pedal.
-
Run Line 6 Monkey with the HD Pro connected. Check to see whether you need to update the USB firmware.

I haven't personally experimented with this and I don't think it is documented. So I guess what you are finding is the way it is.
