  1. That's exactly what I need to do.Today I found the old Bespeco keyboard volume pedal I used to use. Currently it have one microphone cable (3 wires) coming out from the pedal with a TRS 1/4" male jack at its end. I will need a couple of 1/4" sockets for it... but I will let my friend have a look at it before I start the mod.
  2. Looking on YouTube about volume pedals, I saw this video that illustrates the differences types and sound examples when in PRE or POST effects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SQ-G75_pk0
  3. I understand. I have just been on the phone to a friend of mine and band member, he knows allot about electronics. He is going to have a look on a volume pedal which I did use (a long time ago) with a keyboard. I know that it is not good for the job as it is now but if it could be converted with a few £, then I could make a good use of it. Maybe using a couple of audio rated volume potentiometer in it? I will consider this before spending more money. I like to save up for an Helix at some point.
  4. OK. Thanks, good point. I don't know the difference between the different types but I am going to read about this now.
  5. Ahhh! That's more likely! :) Has anyone tried this? If yes, What pedal would be best for the job? Time to start searching for one. Thanks!
  6. Yes, controlling the volume of the amp (in this case, the TS-212) would be the simplest method, my problem is that I can't move easily (back problem). Maybe a remote feature to adjust the amp/monitor should be considered by the amp manufactures, for this requirement.
  7. Thanks for your input! Very helpfull. At the moment I tend to use a controller setting for the amp's volume to be assigned to the controller pedal 2 rather than using a volume fx block. I will be making a copy of the set and adjust accordingly but I can see the pod running out of memory. Some patches (allot of them ) have no available fx blocks. I have to consider using a different approach... for example, using a higher gain amp to remove an overdrive This is going to take a loooong time to sort it out.
  8. Hi all. Is there a way to send separate (fixed) independent volume control to the sound engineer for the front of house? I want to be able to slightly adjust the volume for my on monitoring, using the foot controller, without affecting the FOH. I have tried to adjust all of the volume levels of the set list but some patches are still too loud when played at gigg levels. The equipment I use will be a JTV-69, in to the HD500, XLR L and R to the FOH, 1/4" out to one Alto TS-212. Thanks.
  9. How about using an Alto TS210 ? Great sound, small, light and powerful. 10" speaker, 2 channel in, 1 MIX output, 600W RMS power, 1100W Peak. I use the 12" version, TS212. Only 13.5Kg. and I love it!
  10. Maybe you need to try ASIO4ALL...? It may work. Google it for more info. Good luck
  11. As there is a workaround it, I rather leave it as it is... Ii line6 would give me a fixed price, I would consider it fixed. Earlier today I removed the main board and inspected it for visual fault, mainly looking for signs of burned components, leaking or bulgi capacitors, dry soldering and broken tracks. I could not see any of these signs present.
  12. No change if the battery is removed. It happens in any patches or set list. As I mentioned above, the proble is not with the HD500, but with the Guitar. Used different cables too, so that can be taken out from the equation too.
  13. My JTV69 freezes the HD500 ON POWERING UP when connected via VDI. If I insert a TRS Jack in the guitar at the same time the VDI cable is connected and power up, then everything works as normal. I can then remove the jack off the guitar and all is good. The other way to start up is to first switch on the HD500, then to plug in the JTV 69 via the VDI cable. I am wondering if someone has solved this problem. My hope would be that maybe it's to do with one of the capacitors on the board of the JTV as if that's the case, I could be replacing it myself. I know it is to do with the JTV an not the HD500, because I tried it with a friend's JTV Standard and the HD500 worked fine. Can someone please comment on this? Hopefully a tech guy? Thanks.
  14. Do check the 2 saddle screws. If not equally adjusted it may give sound problem. One may be slightly loose, making the saddle vibrate on certain note frequency. Hope this helps.
  15. Have you tried to alter the HUM setting in the amp? I had this problem and the editing worked.
  16. This is a tricky one... Confirm that the power adapter is delivering the required voltage and mAh. I have had other electronic device causing a malfunction on the power adapter's load (not enough mAh). Ideally you want to try another power supply before assuming the fault being with the HD500/X.
  17. There is a setting within the pod ASIO driver in Reaper's Audio settings that will allow you to switch the HD500 Audio Monitor to OFF, which it will output only the processed reaper sound. Remember that you will be getting some audio latency though, the amount of latency is dependent to what hardware and software you are using. I would have given you a step by step instructions but I am not near my computer. Hope this helps you.
  18. As already said, there are many variables... I was struggling to get a nice acoustic sounds, I was using different valve and transistor amps, out of which my home stereo system performed the best by far. Now I have purchases an Alto TS212 and WOW! What a difference! Just amazing sound quality. The small tweekes made on the Vintage Pre EQ are so much noticeable that can completely transform the guitar models. Now I can clearly hear the changes when dialing the Tone pot, the body acoustics is much more noticeable. I have to try the rest of the model tomorrow. I think that choosing the right amp for a particular guitar model is key in getting the maggiority of the "authenticity", whatever that might mean to you. The JTV is a versatile guitar... Not the best from my collection but it is my main guitar, in fact I haven't used the rest for months now.
  19. Try rebooting the computer and have another go at it. Just today, my HD EDIT wouldn't load the patches, Mokey wouldn't detect the HD500 and it was showing problem for the driver and firmware. I found out while switching the computer off, that Windows was trying to update, disabling the USB PORT Once REBOOTED, it worked just fine. Hope it is a similar situation for your problem.
  20. You must remember that if you do use a Variax guitar, while editing on the pod, you can easily see the asterisk (*) by the side of the patch. This can and will show if you touch ANY variable controls, like the volume or tone pots, the pickup blade switch or the foot controller or switches on the HD500. In my experience, this makes you feel the need to Re-Save the patch. Undoubtedly though, there are bugs on the Edit software. I have had plenty of occasions were the volume changes after switching ON the next patch and returning back to the previous. One thing that resets it to the original saved patch, is to alter the mixer volume/s and then double clicking on it/them (the mixer sliders). Hope this partly helps you.
