  1. Yes, I totally agree. Have you ever tried playing Frank's music? I played in Zappatika until last Year (clash of ego's). Now I just formed a new band called "Absolutely Frank" It'll take a while before we're ready to go on stage but it's so much fun and fulfilling to play his music. Mind you, we don't play the most complicated stuff, we'll leave that to people like Dweezil.
  2. Moo-aaah! Great story! Do you go out to the desk directly or have the TS10s miced?
  3. You certainly have some Vaibes going on there! Awesome work!
  4. What exactly do you mean with Sweep at 40? Is that the min/max values of the expression pedal, with the max value at 40?
  5. You can then turn off the cappacitive button function for live performance
  6. Yes thank you, very creative use of the two monsters! I Just use L6 Line with everything turned off on the DT25. At the moment I'm using a Full amp with cab model and it sounds great. It's clear there are many different and very interesting options but that's nothing new with Line 6 gear B)
  7. Probably my lack of basic understanding but could you please explain? You disable the DT XLR and then route it back into the Helix? What exactly do you route back to what in the Helix?
  8. Ah, that makes kind of sense. Thanks! It would be a little less confusing if Line6 LINK wasn't mentioned behind the Digital output then) Still, thinking about it some more I'm still confused. You say Line 6 Link takes over when Helix sees a DT25. What does Line 6 take over? It doesn't take over my signal going to XLR, so how exactly does it work?
  9. I have a strange problem. I made a preset as seen on the picture: The signal paths are as follows: Path 1A is a seperate path to be usaed for a microphone so I can put some effects on my voice. Path 1B is for guitar and continues to path 2A. Pathe 2A splits after the amp to path 2B with a Y-split. Path 2B Contains some post amp effects. I do this to have a signal without the delays going to the output as wel as a singnal with delays. This makes my guitar playing more articulate, not completely being delayed. Both 2A and 2B ar set to Digital output because I send to my DT25 through Line6 Link. The problem (bug?): If I change the output to something else I can't return to Digital. Somehow the digital output is not available, eventhough it's selected allready. Why is this? Am I doing something wrong? Is it a bug?
  10. So why does the Variax manual say "6. Analog Output - Plug in a standard 1/4 inch guitar cable here"? Isn't a standard guitrar cable TS?
  11. Yeah, takes a few weeks. I think they make them after you order them. They also make custum cases, that look the same.
  12. In the variax manual it says to use a standard guitar cable. What will using a TRS cable (isn't that also used for stereo?) do to make it safe to use together with VDI? It's probably my poor knowledge of these things, but I don't get it.
  13. Yeah, it should be solvable. I will try something when I have the time.
  14. It's fine quality and fits like a glove. Only thing I found is that because of the foam undrneath the Helix it's a bit harder to push the toe switch of the expression pedal.
  15. Great fix, thanks! I don't have a problem yet with my 89F but will seriously consider this aproach to avoid any in the future. Or is this problem not existing on a 89F? It hink they have Graphtek piezo's similar to the Ghost Bridge, don't they?
  16. The advances in thechnology doesn't alter what is morally acceptable at all. the only thing that changes is the risk of being caught and that might be more aceptable to many people. It doesn't make it right though. If you find in morally unacceptable to steal music, then it's just as wrong to steal a record from the store as to download the mussic ilegally. It's the fact that a smaller chance of getting caught makes it easier to do it and people will steal even though they know it's wrong. Making it easy to steal doesn;t suddenly make it ok. Don't get me wrong, I'm guilty myself but I have to admit it never really felt totally allright to download music and this thing has got me thinking. It's a little late but there you go, I'm a f##ked up human being, like most. I'm just a little less f##ked up than the ones who actually beleive it's ok to steal if there's little to no chance of getting caught. I think I might have to change my ways to be able to look at myself in the mirror.
  17. No one is questioning the law here. Yes, it's good the consumer gets protected. The point here is that people who actually do like and want the amp abuse the law by buying it with no intention of keeping it but to make a profile so they can have the amp tone anyway. that seems kind of wrong. It's a bit like killing a guy by accident in a self defense situation or premeditated murder, quite different things. With the first you can actually walk free, while the second will get you the electric chair in some states.
  18. That's turning it around isn't it? The amp companies are not going to survive because the modelers need something to model. That would mean the modeling companies need to keep them alive and that's not what they are doing of course. Of course there will allways be some really old amp to model, that's not the point. It's about these companies turning out new amps. Don''t get me wrong I have played modelers for many years from Zoom, Boss and Line6 and use a Helix now and really love it. But you have to admit the guy makes some valid points about the ethics. Something to think about.
  19. DT25 works fine for me! Love the way it sounds. Deactivated the on board modeling and speaker/mic sims for use with Helix though.
  20. I have put up the idea at ideascale: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Add-Input-Z-to-VDI-Variax-Input/804039-23508?submitted=1
  21. Really? You must admit that the reason for having a global eq absolutely fits the use of Line6 Link. It was the same on the HD500. It felt a bit like being cheated to me. I use the high tech more convenient and versatile Line6 Link to connect to the DT (Dream Rig). Then a great new feature get added, the global eq, but I can't use it. Oh well, I'm really not the type to complain. I'm happy with what I have and every improvement is bonus! I just live with the shortcomings if any. I was curious for an explanation though. I expected something technical.
  22. I get it for USB but why isn't there any global EQ for Line6 Link? That's used to connect to an amp in live situations so there it would be very useful
