Hello all, I'm wondering if there is a way in Pod Go to set up a Global effects loop parameter. In other words, instead of activating and placing the mono effects loop block in every preset by hand, is there a way to activate the effects loop to 'always be on' on all presets. thank you.

Hi, I am looking to keep the name of an FX loop which i have renamed in my preset (scribble strip) for future use. When i create another preset using that FX loop i have to rename the scribble strip for that FX loop ! Has anybody any suggestions or is this even possible to set it so i am not renaming the scribble strip every time i create a new preset ? Thanks Nick.

i drive two selfmade FRFR active monitors in a stereo setup via AES/EBU on the Helix floor. Still a week ago, everything worked fine. The monitors are powerd each by a Hypex Module PSC 2.400 wich has multiple inputs (analog + digital) wich are autoswitching. Yesterdy i wanted to play (OK - i call in playing) and there was nothing. No sound, no noise - just silence. Did'nt change anything as far as i know. Tried then first to reboot, other cables, changing sides - nothing again. Via Headphone, everything ist ok. Via XLR out, everything is ok. Every output block is set to multi and as said - i changed nothing. The only thing i did the last time was the update to 2.82 but i'm not even sure, if the digital out worked once after the update or not. After a while, i found the digital output configuration in the globals set to S/PDIF instead of AES/EBU. Changing to AES/EBU - and everything was fine. So just in case someone has similar problems - check the global setings ;) - they might have been changed with the update. P.S. Sorry for my bad engish :(

Hi guys I have been using the POD HD500X for recording in the studio and it has been great. I wanted to start using live, connected directly to the PA, sounds great as well in some try outs i have used it, but there is one major issue i have that might be a the reason to get rid of the HD500X, it is changing the parameters for a block in every preset separately every time i want a change. I have 4 basics presets a clean, clean with delay, distortion and distortion with delay which are in one bank, how ever I do have several specific presets for other songs (mostly filters added to the signal change of one of the original basic presets) and i store them in a different bank. I use two different amps for the clean and distortion channels Does anyone know if I can link the effects. My major issues is the amps and delays. depending on the gig and during sound check i want to be able to modify for example, the amps eq or volume and delay mix or feedback. Is there anything similar to global blocks that i can use? I want to for example reduce the bass on the distortion amp and change it in one preset that will also modify it the others presets linked to it. It has been too time consuming changing settings in 5-6 banks for one an issue i want to change through out the entire set. I know you can set individual or several blocks to be controlled by the FS1 - FS8 switches, but to me that defeats the purpose of the multieffects since i am still tap dancing. I currently use voodoo labs ground control and audio switcher to control stomp boxes, how ever it increased the amount of things to carry and set up way longer. I checked out AXE FX and it is possible, it is just out of my purchasing capabilities right now, and since I have the HD500X already I would like to give it a try. If any one knows if this is possible I would really appreciate it. Or of any other multi effects that can do it, it will check it out Thanks

I looked around the board and didn't see this mentioned so I'll ask it here. Can you set up a single effect to be used for the entire HX effects unit, that does not take one of the foot switches to activate? I always use a compressor and there is one in the HX Effects units that I like, and I would like that to be on all the time, regardless of the bank and/or patch that I am using. Right now I have to use one of the six buttons for the compressor on every patch, which kind of wastes a button. If I could assign a global effect, that is always on for every bank, that would be awesome since it would leave room for 6 other effects. Appreciate any help.

Hey guys, New Helix LT owner here (still withing return period), been hd500x user for years. Here is my problem. This is how I used to operate Hd500x: I would setup my presets (doesn't matter what's inside really), balance the levels to my liking, and then add a volume block at the end of each preset tied to expression pedal. This way I had sort of a master volume on my HD no matter which preset I am in. I knew that if I need to dial myself down, I will still be in balance volume-wise once I jump to another preset. Now with Helix, It seems to totally ignore the fact that I have set EXP1 and EXP2 position set to be Global, and when I switch between presets, it sets volume block pedal position to whatever it was when I saved it. IT DOESN'T apply the actual position of the pedal upon switching between presets. What do I do here? I MUST be able to control my overall unit level, and it just worked on HD500x. FYI, before I created any sounds on it, I went ahead and upgraded to 2.21 software, so all my patches are "native" 2.21. Am I missing something here? LOVE the unit, but this is becoming a showstopper. Giant volume jumps when going from preset to preset, not usable. Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have been looking for but can't find it. When in some venues the sound is just right but in other venues the sound sometimes needs a small tweak. Is there a global EQ that can make changes across all patches globally?

POD X3 had a very nice feature missing in Helix: You could select the global output so POD would decide if it would add the speaker simulation or not . How is that done in the Helix?

I took my HD500 in after upgrading it to 2.62 and measured the frequency responses of the Global EQ. I used an Audio Precision to generate a 100mV RMS signal into the Guitar input (set to Normal) and listen to the SPDIF output. I used a blank patch and panned Paths A/B to full L/R, respectively. Things aren't nearly as interesting as the FX EQs (plotted here for reference) because there are no % labels. Line 6 properly labeled the actual filter parameters and, based on my measurements, they did a pretty good job of getting them right. L/R balance is perfect. No surprises, although my measured Q was x2 what their label says. Not a big deal in my book. Still, attached here are half the graphs. Due to upload filesize limits I had to spread the plots out over two messages. The rest of the plots follow below.

Global EQ is used for compensating for the wide disparity in acoustic environments on tour or when traveling from studio to studio, and is applied to all setlists and presets. Global EQ features three fully parametric bands plus variable low and high cut filters. This feature is not available in the HD editor programs used via computer. To access Global EQ: Press and hold the VIEW button to open the Setup Menu. Using the four-way, cursor right until you see the Global EQ screen. Turn Knob 1 to select the desired EQ band (Low Cut, Low, Mid, High, High Cut) andturn Knobs 2, 3, and/or 4 to adjust the selected band. To bypass or enable Global EQ, press ENTER. NOTE—Due to L6 LINK’s flexible routing, Global EQ is not available at this output.

If I change the input to MIC and then change the patch, the HD500 reverts back to the guitar input. Seems that the input is set per-patch and not globallt. This sucks big time for me as I would like to quickly test a bunch of presets with my mic and currently there is no way to do this other than go to the I/O page for each and every patch! Is there a way to enable the MIC globally? Thanks!

On the POD HD500, you *must* reset the global setup options which includes resetting the Setlist names and pedal calibration by: 1. Disconnecting the USB cable connection between HD500 and host computer. 2. Power off the POD HD500. 3. Power on the POD HD500 while holding the LEFT ARROW (button while plugging in the power supply to the POD. If you do not do this, one of the tell-tale symptoms that may surface after a Monkey Flash Memory update is that the HD500 will be stuck in a continuous re-boot/power cycling state (you'll keep seeing the Logo and the unit keeps re-starting itself). Sometimes this may not occur, but a secondary telltale sign that a user has not performed a Global Settings reset is the USB communication between the HD500 and HD500 Edit software will be extremely slow/sluggish. ***PLEASE NOTE: Please also make sure to re-calibrate the onboard expression pedal of the HD500 after performing the Global Settings reset. Instructions: How to calibrate the POD HD500 Expression Pedal.
