Helix Lite Edit display started dimming after pulled up? This just began happening. Reaper running behind it is fine. v3 of edit

Just set window to not full screen and will stay undimmed. If full screen dims. No matter the USB slot on PC. I have absolute settings on NVidia for it to control settings as well not apps. Definitely some type of bug. I f the screen is full and dimmed if you hit notifications or settings Window in Win10 then undims.

Hey all, I just updated my Stomp, but have had major issues since. It has crashed multiple times, played for a bit, made some horrible noises when plugged into my MacBook and the display is incredibly glitched, not showing anything readable. It has colours, but looks like a foreign language. I've tried resetting it to no avail. Can anyone help?

I updated my Helix LT to 3.0 and since the update when exiting the six switch looper with a press of the mode switch, it doesn't return to the home view (with the signal chain), but instead goes into "footswitch edit" mode. So I have to push the mode and tap buttons together to get back to the home screen after hitting the mode switch to exit the looper.

Big bug I am noticing in HX edit. It is not showing the presets that are on the device properly and often shows an empty preset. Some display properly, alot do not. Only started happening since downloading latest HX edit software.

Same here : Selecting a new preset on HX Edit is inconsistent : sometime it switches to the selected preset, sometimes it stays on the former one and i might also happen that it switches on the Stomp, but not in HX edit, resulting in overwriting the selected one with the former when adjusting a parameter. Renaming is also inconsistent : sometimes renaming the right preset, sometimes an adjacent one...

 

Looking forward to V3.01... (any news on a bug-fixed version ?)

Just a quick fault that is on the 3.0 update. If you’re using Snapshots and you’re scrolling through the presets... say for example it goes

Bank 5...4....3....2...32! It totally misses out 1 and jumps to 32.

you can only get to 1 by going back up through your banks.... no biggy but it needs fixing.

You say you notice the issue in the updated HX Edit. Did you also update to the matching firmware?

like i said it ain't a big thing but it will need to be sorted.

IIRC, I have seen this reported previously and the response was to the along the lines of “it is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release”.

 

EDIT:

Found it - The reply said.

“This is a known bug that shows up if you’re using one of the preset views that shows 4 presets.”

I'm using the spillover mode in my helix lt and randomly when I switch patches, i get no volume. That patch displays properly but no sound. If a select the patch a second time, it comes back. This is intermittent and sometimes is all patches and sometimes every other one. I was really excited for this and have searched all over for a solution and have found nothing, so here I am.

Slow Filter Down does not change filter direction or impart any audible change. Filter always travels upward.

Look at the label on the second knob. I noticed it straight away after update and restoring presets it stayed (which it would). No errors in install. Went flawlessly.

Honestly as a MIDI hound I kinda like it. CC32 is bank, PC index, and CC69 is snap. I honestly can’t remember what’s normally above that knob?

I'm sure you didn't get a corrupt download (It likely wouldn't have tried to install if it was corrupt).

it'll be something probably for debugging that accidentally got left on in the release build of 3.01.0, probably.  This stuff happens.

 

If you can figure out what it does, then it probably still does the normal stuff (I presume).  Unless you have uncovered a super-power knob that does more than normal!

For anyone else who gets stuck here (found several other threads related), I was one of the folks who got stuck on "Firmware downloaded successfully" and then nothing when attempting to update to 3.01 from 3.0 via hx edit 3.0 (note, didn't hang my helix, just refused to start pushing the update down). The L6 solution worked just fine - make a backup; go grab the latest L6 updater standalone software; manually update; manually factory reset (sw 9+10 on helix floor, eg); restore backup in hx edit.

fwiw I'm not sure this is anything new. It was definitely there in 3.0 (don't recall what that screen looks like on 2.9x), but as a midi user, I kind of appreciate it & hope it sticks around. I also found it in a screenshot on a L6 wiki page:

Hi, can someone point me to the right topic/thread...

Since the 3.0 update I cannot use my capacitive buttons (maybe global update???), don't work........

I also have a second hand unit but was functioning perfect before the update.

I cannot post as relatively new member.

Any setting that 100% will enable touch/capacative function ON, let me know if you can.

I updated from FW 3.00 to FW 3.01,... now my helix floor cannot control my PowerCab plus 112 anymore ...

I can hear the audio signal, but the parameters of the output block do not change anything on the PC+ anymore.

The powercab plus is up to date (FW2.001) , I tried to change the cable, but the problem persist.

Any idea ?

 

 

Edit : --> I restored the factory settings (power up while pressing buttons 9 & 10), then restored a backup, and now it seems to work again.

HX stomp 3.00, preset 068 with industrial fuzz, deluxe phaser, searching set up. Clear all blocks, footswitches are still there for blocks that don't exist...

HX Stomp 3.01, Favorites won't load because of "DSP Overload", although I can load the exact same effects/amps if I don't try to add them from the favorites. It happens even on empty presets, so I really have a hard time believing it is actually because of DSP overload.

Updated to 3.01 HX Stomp version like other people here, I lost my main custom presets with split A/B cabs.

The splits were odds after update (screen 1 below) and modifications (screenshot 2) were not saved , then after few trys deleted.

Presets then does not have sounds anymore or cannot be edited or are deleted...

Cant believe this mess... So disappointing!

You need to download and install HX Edit 3.0. You didn’t lose anything.

Bug or a "feature"…?

 

With Poly Pitch block active, it's not being bypassed if I have set my Stomp's global preferences to DSP Bypass type, and activate the latter.

Haven't encountered this with any other block so far, including Poly Capo or Poly Wham.

 

Firmware 3.01.0, no other issues that I'm aware of.

Thank you for your feedback. In fact, I did loose some presets due to wrong backup timing... but manage to recreate them.

Will read more carefully next time and do my backups prior upgrade.

Hola!  Después de la actualización 3.0 se presentó un problema en mi Helix Floor, la actualización se hizo sin problemas pero luego de estar usando la Helix una hora, se puso en rojo el nivel de entrada de la guitarra que se muestra en la pantalla de la Helix y el audio se fue, tocaba la guitarra pero no sonaba, luego se sentía como que quería retornar la señal pero de pronto se apagó y comenzó a parpadear los led, apagué la Helix y luego lo prendí y seguía parpadeando los led y no arrancaba. Al día siguiente encendió sin problemas y la pude usar pero luego de un rato comenzó otra vez el mismo problema. luego de unos días pude hacer la actualización 3.01, pensé que con esa actualización se corregiría el problema pero de igual modo después de un rato ocurrió la misma falla. Después de un día lo prendí y realicé nueavamente la actualización a 3.01, previamente lo resetee, la actualización a 3.01 se realizó sin problemas, cabe indicar que la primera actualización a 3.01 lo hice a través del Edit siguiendo los pasos de instrucción de Line6 y la segunda vez que actualicé a 3.01 lo hice del Updater y se actualizó sin problemas, sin embargo después de un rato de uso nuevamente se pusó en rojo la señal de entrada de la guitarra y se fue el audio y se apagó y parpadeaban los led, adjunto video.

El 18 de enero de este año mi Helix Floor tuvo una falla similar, generé un ticket y me derivaron con el distribuidor para que lo revise el técnico, el técnico lo revisó y después de varios intentos pudo solucionarlo pero como verán se ha vuelto ha presentar después de la actualización de 3.0.

 

La verdad me preocupa esta falla recurrente en mi equipo, ya generé un ticket a Line6 y estoy a la espera de la respuesta, en caso conozcan esta falla por favor su ayuda para solucionar este inconveniente.

Vaya putada, Ernesto :( Tiene pinta de que solo el técnico podrá ayudarte como la otra vez, porque parece un problema serio. Yo pediría que me cambiarán la unidad, siendo algo tan frecuente y tan grave. No sé si por aquí alguien podrá ayudarte, y de hecho la mayoría son extranjeros, con lo que seguramente no entiendan tu post :(

 

Mucho ánimo y suerte con esa avería. Ojalá te lo puedan solucionar pronto.
