You should let them know that it didn't fix it. Like I said earlier, I don't now, nor have I ever, had joystick problems, though apparently I'm just lucky? Other than the 2.8.1 update (or could've been 2.8) setting that encoder global to Selection, I've had no problems. Do let us know what they say when you tell them it's not fixed.

I just tested this because I couldn't remember for sure. WAH is assigned by default to EXP1 with Toe Switch enabled. VOLUME is assigned by default to EXP2 with Toe Switch enabled If ONLY the VOLUME Block is assigned, then the Toe Switch toggles the VOLUME Block ON/OFF. When toggled OFF, volume defaults to 100%. If VOLUME AND WAH are assigned, the Toe Switch toggles between WAH and VOLUME active states, but the VOLUME defaults to 100% when the WAH is active. Yes, confusing, which is why I always forget if I haven'y been creating presets in a while. To make it more confusing, it's possible to wind up with the Toe Switch functional, but the Expression pedal inactive. In which case, clear both blocks and start over!

What happens when you activate the Toe Switch (by pressing hard at toe down position)?
-
That is correct. The Stomp does not have Command Center. The ONLY MIDI it can send natively are the default PC#s of the Presets. That's 0-107. (36*3-1=107)
-
Preset 01A = PC#000 Preset 01B = PC#001 IF your device recognizes PC#s 000-127, then 01A = PC#000 IF your device recognizes PC#s 001-128 then 01B = PC#001 MOST devices that recognize PC#s 001-128 see PC#000 as PC#001 SOME devices have an offset function to force this. You'll need to RTM for your device to find out about this.
-
Indeed, most of them are. (sad)
-
That's probably what causes my rebuilds, the occasional Customtone preset that I DL.
-
Also, be aware that the stomp sends PC#s 0-107. If your device recognizes 1-128, then Stomp 0 = device 1. Pass thru values aren't affected.
-
As long as I've had it (2016) I have noticed that, from time to time and for no apparent reason, it'll rebuild the presets. However, it never did that on every reboot.
-
Maybe. Your problem sounds different. I'm just saying that with that setting on Model, my joystick works the same way it always did.
-
Bets on whether OP will ever be back? Troll or simply angry illiterate? Actually, doesn't that sound like a certain prominent politician? "yoiu are so bad Really so bad.....so sad" You don't think.....couldn't be.....

And the switches won't select the blocks, rotating the top knob (between View and Action) does that (if you first press VIEW).

OK, I'm confused. I'm on 2.81. I usually use HXEdit to create and mod presets. I guess I hadn't used the joystick for anything other than moving from one block to another to expose parameters since I don't really know when! So I just went over to my floor and tried it - all it would do was move from one block to another, pressing it wouldn't take me to the model list! Then I went to Globals and at the end of the Preferences section there's a Joystick Encoder setting - I never noticed this before. Is this new? It presents a choice between Model and Selection. It was on Selection. I switched it to Model and all was as it should be, same as it ever was. Using the arrows switches blocks, pressing it takes you to the Model list, turning it selects the next Model in the list. Pressing Actions and using the arrows moves the block. IOW, everything works the way it should. Am I misunderstanding the problem?
-
When you called them back and told them that you still had the issue, what did they say?
-
Is this how your buttons are set up? I'm using the Floor model, but it's the settings that matter. Also, are you using snapshots?
-
Did you do the update by first installing HXEdit 2.81? If not, do that (follow the directions!) then repeat the update. If that fails, do a factory REset (not PREset, and assuming you've backed up your presets). If all else fails, call Support.

BRAVO! ROCK ON! If it wasn't too complicated, what was the solution?
-
The thing is that MANY people, including me, have had ZERO problems with the 2.81 update. MANY people who HAVE had problems, it turned out that they either hadn't followed the directions, or had other problems with their individual computer hardware and configurations. I just looked up your previous problem. It seems you have an aversion to working with Tech Support, where you'd have the best likelihood of finding solutions to your problems. I fail to see the logic. That said, maybe Helix just isn't for you. Best of luck with whatever you replace it with, but most likely you'll just discover a whole new set of problems. Good Luck!

ADD: The only time the CANCEL button lights is if you hit one of the Up/Down buttons. This causes the Scribble Strips to flash until you make a selection or hit CANCEL. If that's not how it's working, you've definitely got a problem for Support.
-
Configured like that (and every other way), everything works as it should. When I press AND HOLD both left-hand (Up/DOWN) switches (1+7), it toggles between Preset/Stomp/Snap as it should. Sounds like you may have a problem for Support. I know you had another problem, though I can't remember offhand what it was. Could be you've just got a bad box.
-
Nope, just you. I tested what I said in my reply before I sent it. Try re-installing 2.81 and make sure you follow the directions exactly. If it's still a problem, call Support (or open a ticket).

I've tried every possible combination of Switch settings in Globals, and can't duplicate your problem. How are your Switch settings configured? Preset Mode = Stomp Mode = Snapshot Mode =
-
If I understand what you're saying - with Stomp mode set to 8 switches, and Preset mode set to Stomp/Snap, the Stomp switches don't appear? Or they appear but can't be activated (don't work)? Set up like that (Preset Mode=Stomp/Snap), you're going to see Stomp switches 2-5 (top row of Stomp Mode). If, in Stomp Mode, you don't have switches 2-5 assigned, then you won't see any Stomp switches in Preset Mode. Likewise, if you've got Preset Mode set to Snap/Stomp, you'll see Stomp switches 8-11. If those switches aren't assigned in Stomp Mode, you won't see any Stomps in Preset Mode. As far as the switches working, if they're assigned and visible in whatever configuration you're using, they should work.

Not seeing this on either floor or stomp, even with 3 stereo fx - simple delay, 63 spring and LA2. As datacommando says try installing 2.81 and see if it clears your glitch.
