If you want to use the speakers connected to your PC then you don't need a USB cable at all. Just connect the XT analog outputs to your computer's mic/sound input(s). I don't recommend this setup because it uses your computer's internal soundcard which is almost certainly a lower quality than the XT, and may not even accept stereo input. You will also be able to record this way. Everything will be of poor sound quality - both input and output. It's like buying a good surround sound system for your home theater, and then choosing to listen to it using the $2.00 earbuds you got during your last airline flight. But you can certainly do it that way if you want. The better method, for both recording and playback, is to use the USB cable and let your XT be your computer's soundcard. A standard USB Printer cable is what you want. The one in your link looks like it.

Any Ideas How To Fix This Problem?
silverhead replied to Pawelus1231's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
I believe the OSX 9.1 update resolved some audio issues. Are you running 9.1? -
I suspect he means a tone vs. a semi-tone - in other words a 2-fret pitch alteration. Try using the Pitch Glide FX (under Filter models). Assign the expression pedal as its controller, and set the min/max range according to the desired pitch alteration range. For instance, if you want to use the pedal to raise the pitch by a full tone, set min to 0 and max to +2.

Why they chose that? Nobody here knows; again, you'd have to ask Line 6 directly.

Best Sound Pod Xt With L3t And M20d?
silverhead replied to Profett's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Not for the XT, but the general POD preset will do. I think it's named POD HD500. Use it. -
Stagesource And Hd500
silverhead replied to AlanRoll's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
The HD500 controls the L2t mode setting when connected via L6 Link, although the setting is not visible in the HD500 device or HD500 Edit. However, when you SAVE and HD500 preset it also saves the current mode setting of the connected Stagesource speaker. What you should do, for each preset, is manually set the L2t mode to your preference and then save the HD500 preset. This will store the setting in the HD500 and recall it each time you recall the preset. -
Pod Farm 2.56 With Behringer Xenyx X2442
silverhead replied to Stalmeseto's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
How are you monitoring the sound? You should have your speakers/monitors connected to the mixer's outputs. You won't hear the sound through your computer speakers because the mixer becomes your soundcard, and Pod Farm (and Reaper) sends the audio to your mixer. -
Pocket Pod Headphone Recommendations
silverhead replied to RADNYD's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Also, make sure you Pocket Pod master volume is set to max. You can adjust this at powerup by holding down a certain pair of buttons. I can't remember exactly which buttons to hold down while powering up but the manual describes it. Powering up this way gives you access to a number of global parameters, including master volume. -
Best Sound Pod Xt With L3t And M20d?
silverhead replied to Profett's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
... and use Reference/PA mode in the L3t. -
I believe the currently selected L2t speaker mode is saved with the HD500 patch when the patch is saved. So if you switch your HD500 preset and it resets your L2t to Reference/PA mode, try manually changing the L2t mode to Electric Guitar, and then save the HD500 preset. Then test by switching the HD500 to a different preset and then back again to the preset you just saved. Is the L2t in Electric Guitar mode? I believe it should be.

Mag Vs. Model Volume

Fair enough. I was referring only to the sound differences with my statement about it being personal taste.- 17 replies

Mag Vs. Model Volume
silverhead replied to msttomservo's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I see. So what you mean is that less than half the people who responded to a poll in this support forum (which generally attracts users looking for support) have rolled back. This says nothing about the number of users who do not visit this forum. Also, the title of the poll itself skews the results because it specifically targets those who have rolled back. The surprising part is that they were outnumbered, and the number of 'experts' you say represents 'a big part' of those users is actually a very small portion (there aren't anywhere near 62 experts, and only three of us actually participated in this poll). I, and other experts, are not given any task here. But I do like to challenge unsupported negative views and overly dramatic language when I see it. What you feel is 'pretty obvious' is not at all so to me. If I am sometimes perceived as being positively biased for challenging negativity, then so be it. The v2 release boils down to personal taste. Some don't like it, and can remain at v1.9. More do like it. Everyone has their preferred version.- 17 replies

Mag Vs. Model Volume
silverhead replied to msttomservo's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Wow. I'd be interested in seeing the data behind that statement. Seriously - let's try to keep things realistic. It's true that some users, including yourself, prefer v1.9. You have stayed with that version and are happier. Nothing wrong with that. I happen to prefer v2.0. We're both happy. Where's the 'fiasco'?- 17 replies

You use HD500x Edit to backup presets and setlists. In the Edit program, use the File menu. The File 'Save' submenus offer options for an individual preset, an individual setlist, or the entire bundle (all presets/setlists).

The FBV MKII short board supports the EX-1 external expression pedal. Line 6 does not mention, or support, any other external pedal for use with the MKII. If any other pedal works, that would be an unexpected bonus. Sorry, but I can't understand why you would expect your unsupported pedal to work, or think that Line 6 should do anything to help you make your unsupported pedal work. I suspect other users aren't chiming in because they don't expect unsupported products to be supported.

From the linked post I see this: NOTE: If POD is face down on its front, Front Length = Lower 2 holes and Rear Length = Upper 2 holes. I presume 'screw length' refers to the length of the screw for the respective two screw holes.

How To Translate Good Headphone Sounds To The Stage?
silverhead replied to gitaryzt1985's topic in POD HD
Many people maintain two setlists - one for using headphones and another for PA output. There's no secret - just a lot of experimentation until you understand how to tweak a preset built using your headphones to sound best/similar when using your church's PA. The required tweaking will be different based on your specific headphones and the specific PA. That's because each device (headphones and PA) have different characteristics and hence the resulting sounds they produce are different. One thing you can do (in addition to the above advice) is try to minimize the tonal differences of the devices by selecting headphones that match the frequency characteristics of your church PA as closely as possible. That typically means a very good quality set of studio headphones, with a high ohm rating as recommended by Line 6. But, while this will minimize the amount of tweaking required, there will still be tweaking to do. You might as well keep your existing headphones (assuming they are reasonable quality) and learn what adjustments you need to make. Then build and maintain your two setlists. -

The FX Loop can be added, or not, to any preset just like any FX model. It can be positioned anywhere in the signal chain, wherever you wish.

There is no setting in the HD500 to turn the headphones on/off. If you can hear the device through its analog outputs (e.g. to your amp) you should also hear it through the PHONES jack. Make sure all channel volume/level settings in the HD500 preset are appropriate (e.g. no Path muting in the mixer). Then slowly turn up the Master HD500 volume knob. If you can't hear anything, and you are 100% certain aboput your headphones, then your HD500 need servicing. As a last resort you could try reinstalling the HD500 firmware; there's a very small chance that your firmware has become corrupted and this is the only symptom. Make sure you back up your presets/setlists first.

Overall, Is There A Line6 Product Quality Issue?
silverhead replied to smrybacki's topic in Line 6 Lounge
I am moving this thread from the Pod HD area to the Lounge area of the forum. This thread is not product specific, and it is not something that requires support, so I believe the Lounge is the proper spot for the comments and personal opinions. -
There is no special switch to activate the headphones - the HD500 output is always routed to the PHONES output jack on the rear of the device. If you are not hearing anything there is either a hardware problem within the HD500 (unlikely unless you have other evidence of it) or there is something wrong with your headphones and/or any cables and adapters you are using with them. What type of headphones are you using (provide product and model names)? Can you verify that these headphones are working with other equipment?

Pod X3 Pro As Usb Interface.....how Do I Monitor Guitar Through Mix?
silverhead replied to DeAllen's topic in POD X3
Check the Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices control panel item. I believe there is a slider that allows you to adjust the relative volumes.
