  1. What sort of trouble are you having? Please be specific.
  2. Like actdmusic said - looks like a firmware reinstall is necessary. Make sure to back things up first so you will be able to restore your setups and presets later.
  3. I'm not at my equipment today, but if I remember correctly there is a factory preset that comes with the HD500 that simulates a 12-string using a 6-string. I believe it's in the Bass-Aco-Voc setlist but can't be sure. What I am sure of is that, after listening to it, my reaction was - well, maybe useful in a pinch but not enough like a 12-string to fool anybody.
  4. The setlists are installed with the firmware. You will need to update/reinstall the firmware to get them back. Before reinstalling, make sure you back up any presets/setlist you wish to restore later. During installation, when prompted, choose to replace your existing presets. After installation be sure to reset the global parameters and recalibrate the pedal.
  5. That could help, but I think it depends on whether the issue is caused by your hand contacting the saddles, or the more vertical string vibrations as phil has suggested. I'm inclined to agree with phil that it's the string vibration itself causing the issue - not hand contact. Seems to me that finger picking near the bridge will cause the string to vibrate in a more up/down direction in the saddle rather than across as normal strumming does.
  6. How it sounds (i.e. good or not) depends a lot on what you want to do with the hookup. Are you planning to process the sound from your keys, or do you just want to pass the Keyboard output through the HD Desktop, mixed with your guitar and/or vocals, to something like a mixer or PA?
  7. Just one cautionary note: this setup might take some time to get used to. I wouldn't commit myself to using it in a live situation so quickly. I would plan to use my current setup until I had more time to familiarize myself with the new system and get some good gig-ready tones. That may not happen immediately.
  8. Congratulations! You're going to love it. Just make sure you clear your calendar when it arrives - you won't be going anywhere for a day or two. :P
  9. Yes - but you need to set up your preset carefully to keep the signal paths completely separate. Here's a preset I made some time ago that you can use as an example of how to set the signal paths: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/215659/ Adjust the two paths to your taste in terms of amp/FX processing.
  10. First, you need to be using a dynamic mic. The HD500 does not provide the phantom power that a condenser microphone needs. On the Input Options page, you need to rotate the associated black knob beneath the display to change the parameter settings. Make sure the Inputs Setup is set to PRESET (knob/parameter #4). Then make sure one of the Input Sources (knobs 1 and 2) is set to MIC. Then adjust the Mic Trim knob beside the Mic XLR input until you can hear the microphone input. Then assign your desired amp/FX to the signal path(s).
  11. Every HD500 preset has 2 selectable Input sources. See Setup page 3 - Input Options. Here is the Spanish manual. You should read it. http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434d14bd350917285c8f91/application/pdf/POD%20HD500%20Advanced%20Guide%20v2.10%20-%20Spanish%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf
  12. After reflashing the firmware (which I believe you did to resolve the flashing logo issue) you should also reset the global parameters. http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-2222
  13. Make sure your HD500 preset is set to use MIC as an input. Adjust the Mic Trim knob on the rear panel of your HD500.
  14. The patch he uses is pretty simple and you could probably create a very similar one quickly. He identifies the 3 FX he's using (EQ pre-mixer, limiter and reverb post) and even talks about their settings. A good starting point, at least.
  15. Ideascale would be the best place to report the manual error, and to suggest a change in behaviour.
  16. There's nothing wrong with respectfully expressing opinions, as you have done here. I've never seen a user here chastised for that. I have seen users chastised for personal attacks against other users.
  17. I had a similar thing happen - restoring a backup was hanging with the same message. I cycled the power anyway, and the restoration automatically began from the beginning again. This time it was successful. During the re-installation I was careful not to touch the M20D at all - especially connect/disconnect cables - and not to play any connected instruments.
  18. But you DO need to buy a VDI cable (Variax Digital Interface) to connect the HD500 to your Variax. https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/line6/10Expand.aspx?ProductCode=98-030-0004
  19. Did the presets you replaced use the HD500 Mixer to increase volume? If so, have you duplicated this in the newly-created presets?
  20. Yes, a VDI cable connected to your HD500x will power a Variax, and it will allow provide digital control over your Variax from HD500x stored presets. A seperate cable/power kit for Variax is also available too allow you to avoid needing batteries. This is not connected to your HD500 and offers no digital control.

    Hd500

What device are you using? The title says HD500 but you posted in the thread for earlier, more basic PODs. Assuming it is the HD500, try powering up while holding down the left nav key. Then run Line 6 Monkey to reinstall your firmware.
  23. The manual says: To access the setup pages, press and hold the TAP footswitch then press the MODEL SELECT knob. ... hold (don't release) the TAP switch while pressing Model Select.......
