Driver uninstall instructions for Helix drivers on Windows 7, or 8.
Line6Pete1 posted a article in HELIX/HX
Common issues that have been seen with Helix drivers 1.97 on Windows: 1. Driver signature issue that prevents Helix digital audio & ASIO from working on Windows 7, or 8. 2. Driver may cause the DAW Cakewalk to crash on Windows 10. 3. Variax guitar isn't being recognized by Workbench HD when connected via the Helix. Helix drivers 1.97 are commonly installed with newer versions of HX Edit. This is selected to installed by default. Solution: Try uninstalling the Helix driver 1.97 following these instructions with the Helix connected with USB: Once the driver is uninstalled, install driver 1.96 with this link, then restart your machine: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=10306 You may also want to reset your global settings on the Helix, Helix LT: Reset Globals: Hold footswitches 5 + 6 while powering on. -

I don't normally post to forums, but after experiencing issues with my UX2 with Windows 8 I found in the archived forums many other people were having the same problem (as recently as last month) with similar hardware. I was experiencing random audio dropouts on my PC. The audio would stop completely throughout all applications. The only way I could find to get it back was to restart my PC. I know it is not a hardware issue as I have a dual boot PC which runs both Windows 7 and windows 8. The UX2 always has always performed perfectly on Windows 7. Here is the solution which appears to have fixed the issue on my PC. I was experiencing the problem multiple times daily since installing windows 8, but haven't had it reoccur since I found this setting about a week ago. I've been pulling my hair out for months and was right on the edge of uninstalling Windows 8, but now it seems to be working great. I'm hoping this post can help others enjoy their line6 devices again. The solution: 1. open power options. 2. click "change plan settings" for the plan you are currently using 3. Click "change advanced power settings" 4. Under USB settings -->USB selective suspend setting --> setting, change to disabled (I have noticed the setting has changed itself back, but the problem hasn't reoccurred so maybe there's a bug in windows 8 in the power options. Maybe if yours is disabled by default, you could try enabling it) Sorry to make this post so long, but since the forums have been archived I couldn't reply directly in the thread where the problem was first mentioned. I hope this is a permanent solution and helps everyone. If it does maybe someone could shout me a copy of Podfarm2.5 Platinum...just kidding :P

Hello, hello. First posting on the forum, so yay. Too bad it's for an ugly, annoying issue: Using Windows 8.1, I'm consistently being stuck with a BSOD when recording / monitoring through Cubase. It happens at random, really. Sometimes I could be working for forty-five minutes to an hour or two, and other times I'll be slapped with that big, aggravating " :( " in a matter of minutes. The problem is always cited as "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED L6PODHD564.sys" Computer collects information to prevent data loss, blah blah blah... is supposed to restart automatically, but never does. I've looked around the web a bit before showing up, and apparently it's a driver conflict? There are known issues with Logitech webcams and the HD500 drivers, but having disconnected / disabled the webcam, I still run into frequent BSOD's. I've made sure all of my drivers are up-to-date, and I've checked all of m L6 stuff to make sure that it, too, is updated... but it's turning out to be pretty fruitless. And I am stumped. Anyone have anything that they could put forward to this? I realize that Cubase is really good at finding faults to crash on, and that Windows 8.1 is... pretty new, but my hope is that I'm overlooking a simple solution. Any help is appreciated! Note: I'm using a standard ACER Aspire E1-522-7843. Spec-sheet here: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/NX.M81AA.011

For all of those who, like me, are waiting for the native Windows Amplifi Remote App: there is a way to run the Android version on windows and /or OS X systems. :) Install the latest version of VirtualBox and the matching extension package (Free) and create a virtual machine running the latest version of Android that is available as x86 ISO package. Than use you google account to get the Amplifi app from Google Play and you are all done. There is one glitch: it might be that this is not working with your built in Bluetooth hardware and in that case you have to disable it and use a USB bluetooth dongle. (To get ANdroid running I mainly followed the recipe given in this blog: http://www.fixedbyvonnie.com/2014/02/install-android-4-4-kitkat-windows-using-virtualbox/ Thanks Vonnie!) I currently have it running on a windows 8.1 tablet (EP121) and PC. I was running the app uptil now on my Minix TV Box. Allthough it was rather cool to have the largest guitar tuner in the world on my 40" TV Screen, the none-portability of my TV is less practical. But for you who did not think of it directly (like me): there is a good chance that your TV Box runs Android and you canb simply ionstall the app on it. I am also testing on a MacBook Air.(Here disabling the internal BlueTooth needs some hard core tweaking as Apple has drifted far away form it's open approach of the legendary Apple i and II for which they even supplied the source code of the bios in the manual). And once more: dear LINE 6 People. Surprise us with a native windows app. You will not only make your windows eco system users very happy! Not only that, but you also will be rewarded soon with a huge possible increase in fanbase as your Windows 10 App will work on Windows Tablets, Windows Desktops, WIndows Phones (from cheapest of $70 to the Apple 6 rivals costing half of what Apple charges), Windows TV Boxes, WIndows Remote Controls, Windows Foot Pedals and WIndows Washing Machines for all I care, as the windows 10 kernel will be the SAME for all these devices. This also means that Windows Apps can and will not be ignored anymore by the global app makers (including you) as up til now. So I hope that you are already on it and, in trademark Line 6 style, will surprise us unanounced with a native Windows app next week. And if not: please get moving!

Hi, Had to get a faster computer, bought one with Windows 8. Installed latest Pod Farm (2.5.6) and now I can't get hardly any of my favorite effects, amps etc. In version 2.0 I was able to get a ton of presets, apms, effects and so forth, and now it is a pretty slim selection. Even when selecting from the drop down menu to get presets, most of them fail to load. Error Code 800a002. I"ve even tried to install the tones from a backup, but I still get the same error. Is there a solution for this , or is this the new Pod Farm? CG

Hi guys, after 3 intensive days trying to update my device I finally found the solution. I´m windows 10 (64bits) user, so I´m trying all the previous windows versions, 32 and 64 bits and the only verson that works was Windows 8 32 bits version, so I made all the Updates easily. So the problem was... I don´t have a machine with Windows 8 32 bits, so I did an installation of Oracle Virtual Machine and emulate the system (check youtube videos tutorials, it´s easy to use). After install the Oracle VM, inside Windos 8 (32bits) I was able to made ALL the updates, work like a charm! Good luck!

Sorry I having this minor annoying problem that slowly becoming a huge deal When changing the Driver Format in Pod Farm from 16 bit/44k Hz to 24 bit/48 Hz the driver will change automatically back to it default setting when accessing any problem related to the microphone example audacity, OBS maybe even sony vegas. Windows 8 is the cause to this problem. How do I know? People who are running the same setup but in windows 7 are able change the Driver Format and have no problems. The Damage I received from this I bought Windows 7 OEM CD and it crash my second computer and it won't work now (Also lost my files) When Streaming through OBS to Twitch the audio is static unless change through drivers format but when closing OBS or loading another problem during stream the microphone goes back to static Please people of Line 6 can you please take a look at this problem and fix it. [ I run a UX2 through Pod Farm 2.5.7 with the latest drivers]

I've created a new user accoint on my Windows 8 machine. Now when I try to run Pod Farm 2.5 it says that it is not authorised. This was already authorised when I was logged in as the Main account/Administrator. How do I reauthorise without losing another authorisation from my L6 account. I believe there's a limited amount of times that you can reauthorise L6 software so I only want to reauthorise as a last resort. I am guessing that the authorisation file is being stored somewhere that only the main account user can access. Whenever I install software I always choose the option to "allow all users to use this software". I had the same problem with Ableton Live, but they allow Live to be installed on as many computers as you own so reauthorising there was not an issue.

Hi, I recently switched from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 8.1 x64 and I can't get my UX1 to work. Using the newest driver for Win8, not even regular playback is functional since every sound is very distorted and played slowly. Now I know that 8.1 is not officially released yet (got it earlier from my university though) but since there was a beta and RTM version for software developers, I assumed that there was enough time to update the drivers. Has anybody made the same experiences? Is there an official statement about 8.1 and new drivers? Thanks and Regards

I recently got a new laptop. On my old laptop my studio Ux1 worked perfectly. But on my new one, when listening though the Ux1 headphone jack, the sound was completely distorted. And not just guitar, all the other sounds (volume test noise, iTunes, etc.) were distorted beyond recognition. Old laptop was windows 7, new one is windows 8. Could this have something to do with it? Also old one was Acer, new one is HP. Could there be some sort of default setting I need to change? Please let me know. I am using the same program for each (Reason Limited).

Hello, I'm a previous user of GuitarPort / GearBox on a Windows XP with a SB X-Fi Titanium sound card. I experienced no issues with this setup and have used it for years. I recently purchased a new PC running Win8 and decided to give the UX1 a try. I'm using the same SB X-Fi soundcard, but I'm experiencing latency issues on the new setup, as follows: guitar->UX1->USB. The X-Fi is in Audio Creation mode. Though the latency is relatively small, it makes playing far too difficult. Also, in POD Farm, when I try to switch the Hardware from ToneDirect to Creative (ASIO), the PC freezes. If anyone has any insight, I'd greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks

Hello, sorry for my poor English, it's not my native language. I have Core2Duo, 4GB RAM, Windows 8 x64, latest drivers, no USB hubs etc... and Core i5, 8GB RAM, Windows 8, x64 (notebook) and both have the same problem. USB link hangs periodically, sound stops, media players freezing (but ASIO driver still works!). If i replug the cable, windows device manager detect hd500 but device state is "The drivers for this device are not installed", only restart helps. It happens only when i use Google Chrome (or any other browser) and watching online video. This problem is not observed with other audio interfaces or built-in audio. I tried earlier versions of Adobe Flash and Line6 Drivers - this does not work. Problem can be solved only by removing Adobe Flash Player and disabling built-in player in Chrome, but it is not a good solution. Any ideas? Thx UPD: the problem has returned. Still no sound loss in video games and other software (ASIO driver works fine even after Windows Audio hangs), but in the web browsers it is still there, when playing online video or audio (now in HTML5 mode).

I am trying to set up my podx3 live and I am having some issues. I have the dowload monkey and all drivers are up to date. I plugged my pod into the usb port but I am not getting any sound. I am using windows 8 and I am still trying to figure it out, so maybe there is some kind of config I am missing. I am using the built in sound card, Realtek High Def Audio, and have 2 KRK speakers running into the headphone jack. As far as playing media, I get sound from the computer just fine. Also, I am going to be recording using Sonarx2, so any suggestions setting that up with the pod would be greatly appreciatted.

Hey all, Took a while to solve this so I thought I'd post for anyone else hunting. Persistent clicking with UX2 on Win8 x64 (AMD A10 + discrete gfx, SSD & 16G). The system runs plenty fast enough, so I was surprised to be getting drop-outs & clicks in all playback apps, especially on basic activity like switching app focus. Tried adding ASIO driver to Foobar2000 & adjusting buffers, latency and bitrates in the Line6 control panel and everything with no success. Culprit in the end: the UX2 was plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Plugging in to a USB 2.0 port fixed the problem. Unsure if a particular controller was the problem (Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 has both native AND A85X chipset and Etron EJ168 controllers). Bought a board with extra USB3 ports thinking I was doing myself a favour -- only 2 USB2 ports on the back panel -- jeez. LOL Anyway, fixed -- hope this maybe helps someone.
