Français. Deutsch. What instruments and pickups can I plug into my Relay transmitter? Relay digital wireless systems basically just replace your instrument cable so basically you can plug anything into the transmitter that you could have plugged into your amp (as long as you don't exceed an input level of 6V p-p at the input). Examples: Instrument with piezo pickup - If you are currently happy with the sound you get from plugging from your instrument into your amp, then your rig will work just fine substituting Relay for your cable. The input of the Relay transmitter has a very high input impedance (1.3 Mohm) so as not to load down your instrument. This is equal to or even higher than most preamps specifically intended for piezo pickups. Stereo pickups with Y-Cord - Could also be standard pickups combined with a bridge saddle pickup. Again, if you are happy with the sound you get using this configuration then Relay will not get in the way of your sound. Or you could run each pickup to it's own individual Relay system which could then be split into stereo. Active instruments w/ preamps - If your instrument has an active preamp and is powered with a single 9v battery you will have no problems using Relay. If you have a double 9v preamp it is theoritically possible to clip the input of the transmitter but unlikely in the real world. Should this actually happen you can remedy it by backing off a bit on the master volume control, adding a pad to the cable or removing one of the batteries. The extra headroom offered by these systems is only a benefit if it fits in with the system gain structure (unless you are using it to purposly clip the input of your amp). Remember, unused headroom is wasted. Where should I plug Relay into my chain? Relay replaces the cable from your instrument to wherever the other end of that cable was plugged into. Plug your instrument into the transmitter and plug the output from the receiver into wherever that cable was before. Generally speaking, you are un-tethering yourself from the first piece in your chain. You don't have to worry about gain or level matching as Relay is a "unity" device. That means you get the same level (voltage) at the output jack of the receiver as you are getting from the output of your instrument. Nothing changes ... Relay's output level is neither louder nor softer than the original. The output from the "tuner" out is exactly the same as the main output in level and impedance. Only difference is the pressing the "mute" button on a G50/90 transmitter shuts off the main out but leaves the tuner output active. The XLR and 1/4" outputs on the G90 are also identical and are provided to give the user more versitility in connecting to other gear. What IS different? Depending on how you've set the cable modeling, you could be sending a lot more "highs" into your system than ever before. This could result in more apparent noise or hiss. It would be the same as if you had connected your instrument into your system with a 1-foot cable (which is pretty difficult to do unless you are a contortionist guitarist!). Adjusting to the proper cable model should remedy this situation. On the other hand, if you are using an acoustic guitar leaving the model off will sound like the freshest set of strings you've ever played. Relay: Digital Wireless: Was schließe ich an und wie? Aktive Instrumente mit Vorverstärkern: Wenn Ihr Instrument einen aktiven Vorverstärker hat und durch eine einzelne 9V Batterie angetrieben wird, werden Sie keinerlei Probleme mit Relay haben. Wen nSie aber einen Vorverstärker mit doppelter 9V Batterie haben, ist es theoretisch möglich den Eingang des Transmitters zu übersteuern. Sollte dies passieren können Sie das Problem lösen indem Sie das Master Volume ein wenig herunterdrehen, dem Ausgang ein Padding geben oder eine der Batterien entfernen. Die zusätzliche Freiheit bei hohen Frequenzen bei solchen Systemen ist nur dann von Vorteil, wenn es mit dem Gain des Sytems zusammenpasst. (Außer natürlich, Sie verwenden es um absichtlich das Singal zu übersteuern.) Denken Sie daran, dass nicht benutze Freiheit bei hohen Frequenzen verschwendet ist. Die XLR und 6.35mm Ausgänge des G90 sind identisch und sind vorhanden um dem Benutzer mehr Flexibilität für die Verbindung seiner Ausrüstung zu verleihen. Was ist anders? A: JTV guitars use a lithium-ion battery similar to that of a camcorder. A fully charged battery can deliver at least 12 hours of continuous performance. There is a four light battery life indicator on the battery compartment on the back of the JTV guitars that can be viewed by pressing the round flush black button next to the lights. 4 LEDs = 9+ hours 3 LEDs = 6+ hours 2 LEDs = 3+ hours 1 LED = less than 3 hours 1 LED blinking = less than 1 hour, recharge battery Note: Using a non-Line 6 JTV battery will void your warranty and may damage your JTV. Q: How can I power my JTV without a battery? A: There are 2 ways to supply power to the Variax without a battery. When connected to VDI Digital Input equipped hardware, such as a POD X3 Live, power is supplied via this connection. Or, use the optional XPS-DI direct box/power supply and TRS cable. With this box you can power the Variax and it also works as an A/B box to send your signal out of a DI to go direct to a board or acoustic amplifier with certain models. When powering the JTV guitar with either TRS or VDI connection, it is suggested to remove the battery from the guitar. Q: How long does it take to fully charge a dead battery for the JTV guitars? A: It takes about 12 hours to fully charge a dead JTV battery, but leaving it to charge overnight is a good time to do this. You can get a 4-6 hour play time by charging the JTV battery for 30-45 minutes. Q: What does the indicator light mean on the JTV battery charger? A: A solid RED light on the charger indicates that the battery is charging. A blinking RED light means that either the batter is fully charged, or the battery was inserted improperly into the charger and needs to be re-seated properly. If you know the battery needs charging and you get a blinking RED light when it is put into the charger, please re-seat the battery in the charger. New HD Acoustic Models Q: When were the new HD acoustic models added to the JTV guitars? A: The new HD acoustic models were added in firmware 1.81 and are included in all newer firmware versions of the JTV guitars after that. Q: What does the Tone knob do on the newer HD acoustic models on the JTV guitars? A: The Tone knob on the new HD acoustic models is used to adjust the amount of body resonance for the model, but it was also specially programmed to have the top 10% of the Tone knob completely remove this resonance (at the 90-100% position) for those that prefer to remove that sound from the new acoustic models to closely resemble the flat nature of the older acoustic models from previous Variax guitars. Alternate Tuning Knob Q: How does the Alternate Tuning Knob on the JTV guitars work? A: The Alternate Tuning Knob on the JTV guitars can be used to any of the preset tunings that are saved to the knob. This knob has 12 settings including two labeled 'Model' and 'Standard' Set to 'Model,' the Alternate Tuning Knob lets you access the alternate tunings you created using the Variax Workbench software. These tunings are stored on your Variax's Model knob. Set to 'Standard,' the Alternate Tuning knob overrides saved tunings to set every model to standard EADGBE tuning. The Alt Tune knob's remaining 10 settings are hand-picked for each stle of James Tyler Variax guitar. Q: How do I reset the tunings? A: The on-board factory tuning reset feature was removed starting with HD firmware (2.x and higher). That procedure was to plug in while holding down the model knob. To reset the tunings in firmware 2.0+, they have to be loaded from the Workbench HD program. A: First, ensure that you have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the Workbench interface from the Line 6 Downloads page. Then, ensure that the battery of the James Tyler Variax is charged and inserted into the guitar. Connect the Variax Workbench interface to the computer via USB, and also connect the James Tyler Variax guitar to the Workbench interface via the included VDI/Network cable. Lastly, connect a 1/4" cable into the guitar's output jack to power on the guitar (as the Workbench interface DOES NOT provide power to the guitar, this 'dummy' plug is necessary for the interface to recognize the JTV). Es dauert 12 Stunden um die Batterie vollständig aufzuladen. Sie können aber schon nach 30 bis 45 Minuten für 4-6 Stunden spielen. Was bedeutet die Lampe auf dem Ladegerät? Wenn das Licht durchgehend ROT leuchtet, dann heißt das, dass die Batterie nachlädt. Ein blinkendes rotes Licht heißt, dass die Batterie entweder voll geladen ist oder, dass die Batterie falsch eingesetzt worden ist. Wenn Sie aber wissen, dass die Batterie nicht voll geladen ist und das Licht blinkt, dann sollten Sie die Batterie neu ins Ladegerät einsetzen. Windows Completely uninstall POD Farm 2.50, then, download and install POD Farm 2.55 from the Line 6 downloads page. [*]Mac Completely uninstall POD Farm 2.50 following the removal instructions below in problem 2. Then, download and install POD Farm 2.55 from the Line 6 downloads page. 2. If you are experiencing the following symptoms on a Mac computer: POD Farm 2.5x standalone and/or plug-in not authorized on Mac. POD Farm 2.5x crashes in standalone mode when Changing presets. Pro Tools crash when instantiating POD Farm 2.5x plug-in to a track or changing presets in plug-in. POD Farm 2.5x plug-in settings are not retained in Pro Tools project after saving, closing, then, re-opening project. Using Windows Update to install/update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable so that POD Farm 2.5 can have access to the libraries it needs to run correctly usually fixes the problem. 5. Incorrect Graphics/GUI in POD Farm 2.5x plug-in If you are using a Custom Plug-in folder location for your DAW, make sure to delete the old POD Farm 2 and POD Farm Elements plug-in files from that location, and move the new POD Farm 2.55 plug-in files to that same location. Similar to online services such as iTunes or Google Play Store, the Line 6 License Manager allows you to authorize & manage all of your purchased Line 6 software licenses so that they function simultaneously with multiple computers and/or Line 6 devices. For instance, you can have a Mac computer, a Windows computer, a POD XT, and a TonePort, and be able to use your purchased licenses on all of them once the devices are properly authorized. This goes for new license purchases as well as purchases made in the past. Additionally, the Line 6 License Manager provides online access to your line6.com User Account, allowing you to reference your purchase history, register your gear, manage account options and more! The License Manager replaces Line 6 Monkey as the tool to use to manage licenses. Line 6 Monkey continues to be used as an updating tool for Line 6 devices. What devices work with the License Manager? A compatible device can be a Mac or Windows computer, or any supported Line 6 USB device that is connected. How do I add my recently purchased software to my device? If you recently purchased software on your Line 6 account, and License Manager shows that your computer or Line 6 hardware is already authorized but does not show the new software in the 'Add-Ons' list, de-authorize the device(s) you want to use with the new software. Afterwards, authorize the device(s) to use the new software. I authorized my device(s), but I don't see anything under "Add-Ons". Are my licenses gone??? Your licenses are attached to your account until you gift them to another account. Click on the "Scan for Devices" button if they don't appear after authorizing, or restart the app. Can I use the License Manager to activate or manage RiffWorks or iLok licenses? The License Manager will manage the Line 6 version of RiffWorks, but not RiffWorks Standard, which requires a SonomaKey from Sonoma Wireworks. iLok licenses are deposited from your Line 6 account to your www.iLok.com account, but License Manager is not used to do this. Is an Internet connection required to purchase licenses and authorize devices? Yes, purchasing of licenses requires an Internet connection. After the purchase, License Manager must connect to your Line 6 account so you can authorize your device(s) for use with your purchased license. How do I deauthorize a device? To deauthorize an authorized device, select the device within Line 6 License Manager and click the Deauthorize button. When deauthorizing a Line 6 USB device, you may also be presented with an extra step to Remove the licenses from the device. If you are presented with this screen, just click Remove and wait for the Line 6 Server to properly configure your device. If anything happens to my Line 6 device, or my hard drive crashes, do I lose my licenses? No, your model packs will be safe. They are tied to your Line 6 account, not your Line 6 devices or the software installation on your computer. Your Line6.com user account maintains a record of all model pack purchases. In the event that your device needs repairs or replacement, Line 6 Customer Support will be able to deauthorize the faulty device as needed. I can't use my licenses anymore. What happened? Please understand that only the account that purchased the licenses will be able to access the licenses, regardless of who has the device containing the licenses. If you can't access this account, you won't be able to access the licenses contained within it. For instance, if someone bought a used POD XT that was authorized with a Metal Shop license, and at some point the buyer deauthorized the POD XT or authorized any other license, the Metal Shop license that was on the POD XT would be removed. The buyer would no longer be able to use Metal Shop because the buyer's account was not used to make the Metal Shop purchase. The seller would have to gift the model pack to the buyer's account (see how to gift below). Another case is a father using his Line 6 account to buy a model pack for his daughter. He'd have to gift the purchase to her Line 6 account for her to have access to the model pack. Another scenario involves licenses purchased online. Line 6 is the only authorized seller of licenses for use with Line 6 devices. If you purchased Line 6 licenses from anywhere other than the Line 6 website, the licenses were originally purchased using a Line 6 user account other than your own and the licenses have reverted to that account. The account owner would have to gift the store order to you in order for you to use the licenses you purchased from that individual. Line 6 plays no part in this situation. What if I sell my device? What happens to my licenses? If you intended to sell your licenses with the device, then you can gift the relevant store order(s) to the buyer. If you didn't intend to sell your licenses with the device, when the buyer runs the License Manager and logs in, it will prompt him to authorize the hardware, which will remove the device authorization from your account and restore the licenses for use with your account. How do I gift a store order? Use the License Manager to first deauthorize all of your devices. Next, log in to your Line 6 account, visit the Purchase History page, and click the Details link for the order. Click the link/button labeled "gift", then enter the destination Line 6 account username and click confirm. The order will still show in your account history, but you will not have access to the license(s) from the order, be able to return it, or be able to gift it again. The giftee's account will display the order on the Purchase History page, but not be able to return or gift it. The account holder will have access to all the license(s) in the order. After deauthorizing your devices and completing the gifting process, you can re-authorize your devices to use with any remaining licenses. NOTE: Model Packs purchased as part of an email promotion cannot be gifted. How do I return my purchased license? Line 6 will gladly provide a full refund of any Line 6 License order within fifteen (15) days of the order date. After 15 days, returns will not be accepted and no refunds will be issued. Please note: All Software purchased in a single transaction must be returned together. A refund for less than the full original order amount cannot be issued. Contact our staff at www.Line6.com/company/contact to initiate a refund. You must first have fully deauthorized all of your devices using License Manager before the return process can begin. License Manager says that there is no connection to the internet even though I am connected and able to access the internet normally. What's wrong? There are a number of issues that can cause Line 6 License Manager to not be able to connect with the Line 6 servers. The biggest offenders are pop-up blockers and surfing anonymizers. Please disable these tools if they are active during your session. Which server port does License Manager access and how does it need to be configured? Your server connections need to have port 80 or 443 outbound. Another option is to use a proxy server. What are the system requirements for the Line 6 License Manager? On the POD HD500, you *must* reset the global setup options which includes resetting the Setlist names and pedal calibration by: 1. Disconnecting the USB cable connection between HD500 and host computer. 2. Power off the POD HD500. 3. Power on the POD HD500 while holding the LEFT ARROW (button while plugging in the power supply to the POD. If you do not do this, one of the tell-tale symptoms that may surface after a Monkey Flash Memory update is that the HD500 will be stuck in a continuous re-boot/power cycling state (you'll keep seeing the Logo and the unit keeps re-starting itself). There is a known compatibility issue with current Line 6 drivers and the AMD USB Filter driver that comes preinstalled on several AMD computers including HP and Compaq. This issue materializes in the form of constant blue screens when connecting a Line 6 device via USB to these computers. Uninstalling this USB Filter driver will resolve this issue.
