Line 6 generally tests with software Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) that are the latest and the last freely upgradeable versions. Line 6 does not test on 3rd party applications that are no longer supported by their own developers. While we use a wide variety of 3rd party recording applications during our software testing, it is simply not possible to test POD Farm's (or any other Line 6 software) compatibility with every DAW. We make every effort to be compatible with as many recording applications as is practical. Research performed by our Quality Assurance department, beta testers, and ultimately POD Farm users systematically help us to identify bugs and incompatibilities, and we continually strive to resolve these issues with incremental software releases and/or documentation in the form of release notes, online Knowledge Base items, and forum posts. POD Farm plug-ins are developed to conform to the standards established for RTAS, VST and AU and should be compatible with any DAW supporting these plug-in formats. It is important to note that the way that DAW manufacturers implement these standards varies, which, when combined with a given computer's unique configuration, may result in varying plug-in performance.

Currently, Line 6 does not test any of our products on Tablet or Netbook style PC's. While it may be possible to get the hardware and software to work together or separately, we cannot guarantee that your Line 6 USB device can be used as intended on these systems as they tend to have ultra-low-voltage processors that may not have the processing power that large processors have. Therefore, at this point, there is no support for Tablet or Netbook PC's.

M13 FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED: A MIDI interface that connects to your computer via USB (download the current Driver for it if you don't have it installed) 2 MIDI cables (or a MIDI interface such as the M-Audio Uno that comes with attached MIDI cables Note: Line 6 recommends a name brand USB to MIDI interface produced by an audio company that supports/updates their drivers. Good choices include: M-Audio, Edirol, E-Mu and MOTU. These interfaces have proven to be more robust and reliable when it comes to large MIDI transfers such as the M9 and M13 update.. For further information on MIDI connectivity and interfaces, please go over the following MIDI Document. A MIDI sequencer app such as Cubase or a sysex app -- if you don't have a sysex app installed, do a Google search for MIDI Ox (Windows) or Sysex Librarian (Mac) then download one or the other and install it. It sometimes takes 30 seconds to 1 minute to appear like the unit is receiving the update and takes about 8-10 minutes to complete. Terms Before we begin here are some terms to know POD Farm Application is a tone modeling application for all non-POD Line 6 USB recording devices . The application processing the audio from your device on the way to your recording software. Gearbox is the old version of POD Farm. Gearbox operates as a standalone application, standalone editor for POD XT/X3 devices, plugin, and GuitarPort Online client. Amp Farm is the first Line 6 modeling software. It is only available for Protools systems. It has been discontinued by AVID and will not be supported on Pro Tools 11 or higher. Toneport is the old product family name for Line 6's USB recording devices such as Toneport GX, Toneport UX1, Toneport UX2, Toneport UX8, Toneport KB37. POD Studio is the newer version of Line 6's USB recording devices and POD Farm software. This package contains POD Farm software and a USB recording device. The POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 is not a MIDI controller device whatsoever; the only two parameters that appear in the Audio-MIDI menu are for Footswitch 1 & 2 assignments only. A: The Bass POD Pro will have digital outs and digital clock in,along with XLR balanced outputs, a dry signal out and a line input. A: In order to establish communication between your Bass POD's MIDI In and Out and your computer, you will need a MIDI Interface, two standard MIDI cables and the cables necessary to connect the interface to your computer. Q: What editing software do I use to edit patches on my Bass POD? A: You'll need to download a copy of SoundDiver which is currently not supported by Line 6 but can be found in the Archived section of our Software Downloads Page. Q: How do I record my Bass POD into my computer? A: In order to record the audio signal of your Bass POD directly into your computer, you will first need the proper type of software that is capable of recording audio loaded into your computer. You will also need a sound card that has an audio input. If you have a Soundblaster type of card, you will need a cable that has two 1/4 inch mono plugs on one end and one 1/8 inch stereo plug. This cable can be found at most major music retailers. The two 1/4 inch mono jacks on this cable will need to be inserted into the Bass POD's Modeled and DI Outputs and the other end of the cable should be inserted into the audio input of your computer's sound card. Make sure your sound card and audio software are configured to receive audio input and you should be ready to record. If you are using another type of soundcard, like a unit that has an external break out box, you can plug directly into that box using a regular guitar cable of a balanced (TRS) cable. Be sure to check the documentation that came with the unit to configure it correctly. Q: How should I connect my Bass POD to my amplifier? A: The Bass Pod is not a power amp. You will need to go from the Bass Pod into a power amp and then into a cabinet, or insert the Bass Pod in the effects loop of your amp. The Bass Pod's outputs are line level outputs. If you want to go into the front you should consider purchasing a direct box (ebtech makes a fairly inexpensive one) that will drop your level down to an instrument level. This way the impedance levels will not be mismatched between your Bass Pod and Head. Another thing you might want to check would be the overall output level of your Bass Pod. It should be set between 12 and 2 o'clock. Q: Can I Time Align and blend the DI signal with the Amp Model? A:Yes. To blend the DI signal into the Amp Model output, press the MANUAL+CABS/EQ buttons simultaneously so that the CABS/EQ button is flashing slowly. Adjust Compress knob from min (all model@Amp Model output) to max (all DI@ Amp Model output). Press CABS/EQ to exit. This is storable in a preset. The Model and DI outputs are preset to be time aligned at 100Hz, but you can adjust this. To Time Align the Amp Model and DI outputs, press the MANUAL+CABS/EQ buttons simultaneously so that the CABS/EQ button is flashing slowly. Adjust Channel Volume from min (0ms delay) to max (8ms delay). Press CABS/EQ to exit. This is storable in a preset. When you're in this mode, all of the other knobs (amp tone controls, tweak) still function so it's easy to dial in a time aligned, blended DI signal with your main tone. Q: How do I change the Cab and Mic models on the Bass POD? A: CAB/A.I.R. - Press the CAB/A.I.R. button once to pick a Cab Model to pair with your amplifier, select the microphone used on the cabinet and even set the amount of "room" that the mic captures. Unlike the EFFECT ON/OFF buttons, this button is not an on/off type control. A single press of this button simply lets you change cabs and mics quickly. When the Cabinets are off, this button's light will be off as well. Q: Is the Bass POD a mono device? A: The short answer to this is yes, the Bass POD is mono in the sense that there is no left and right output of the effects. Instead, the Bass POD has an amp model out and a "direct" out because most bass players will usually record their bass going directly into the mixing console as well as going through their amp (which is mic'ed and then sent to the mixing console.) Some players do this in live situations when the PA can accommodate it. Because of this, we found having seperate "Amp" and "D.I." outputs would be more useful than stereo. Q: The Bass POD web page says there is a Cabinet Tuning Mode for matching the output of the Bass POD to different cabinet types when using the Bass POD as the front end of an amplifier. Is this true? A: Yes, this feature is not documented in the manual. You will need to power the Bass Pod up holding down the save button. Then you can choose between A,B,C, or D. The Bass Pod will default to a. Mode "A" assumes that POD is feeding a flat power amp and that your speakers are a closed back 4x12 cabinet. Mode "B" assumes that POD is feeding a flat power amp and that your speakers are an open back combo amp (1x12 or 2x12). Mode "C" is the default mode that assumes POD is in front of the Combo/head and your speakers are an open back combo amp. Mode "D" assumes that POD is feeding into the front of a Head and your speakers are a 4x12 closed back cabinet. Q: Is it possible to upgrade my POD 1 to a Bass POD? A: Unfortunately, there is no upgrade path between the Pod and Bass Pod.

1. Input settings on User Bank 13 (A, B, C, D) are set incorrectly. Tone 1 is set to GTR 1 + Variax and Tone 2 is set to Mic 1. Because the XLR and 1/4" inputs on the X3 Pro on the same channel cannot be used at the same time, this will not work. The work around here is to re-save each patch in Bank 13 with the input setting on Tone 2 set to Mic 2. 2. Audio from the Tuner does not mute when connected digitally to audio interface. Before we get into defining "Platinum", it's important to know that POD Farm comes in two distinct flavors: 1. As a plug in tied to a Line 6 device OR 2. As a plug in tied to an iLok key The difference between POD Farm and POD Farm Platinum, regardless of which type of device the license is tied to, is simply the number of amp, cab, and FX models available in the plug-in. POD Farm includes a limited number of models PLUS any models your Line 6 device contains from buying model packs, while POD Farm Platinum includes ALL Line6 models ever made to date. Start Windows Explorer 2. Click on My Computer 3. Select/Highlight The SD-Card Reader/Drive that contains the SD-Card 4. Right Mouse Click and select Format from the pop-up menu 5. Make certain the File System displays: FAT (Default) and not FAT 32 6. File Allocation Unit Size = Default 7. Press Start to begin Format (follow on-screen instructions) Note: On WinXP system there are only the options for formatting FAT and FAT 32 On Vista system there are the options for: FAT, FAT 32, NTFS, and exFAT
