  1. It is most likely the power supply and not the HD500 itself. Try that before investing in a new unit unless you have lots of $$ to burn.
  2. Mine is just like the one shown in the pix. Internal threads. I had to chase the internal threads on mine with a tap to get it to screw on properly. The threads were crap.
  3. You need a 9VAC adapter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't get a DC adapter!!!!!!
  4. Which red light is flashing? One towards Variax? If so, then you are not getting a good live communication link to the Variax from the USB Dongle box. It's not a problem on the PC side.
  5. I need an Amplifi like I need another anal opening anyway. I will buy one to use as a small amp / Bluetooth speaker when it has PC support.
  6. Modeling would be off for sure but it would be in tune with standard tuning and it might not sound that bad. I have heard of issues where two piezo's were swapped but not issues where all of them were swapped. It would be easy to prove by moving the alt tuning of one at a time or turning the string volume down one at a time and seeing which string goes dead.
  7. Sounds to me like the piezo's could be wired wrong. (Flipped between High and Low strings)
  8. Give them time. They don't move quickly. I expect that other platforms will be supported for Amplifi. I will buy one when I can use a laptop with it. I have an Iphone but it's not the platform I want to use to edit stuff. Too damn small for my 63 year old eyes.
  9. It's supposed to simulate moving the mic position for acoustic models from what I have heard.
  10. Line6 has never said that an Android app would be forthcoming.
  11. That communicate comment was not made by anyone from Line6 so IMO it's worth zero.
  12. Come on. It's not that hard to convert these things for any decent programmer. I agree that the way they did it makes no sense at all. EQ should be in units that make sense.
  13. My 69S came set up as well as any of my other expensive guitars. (American Std Strat, Les Paul) I have had it for a year now and it plays great. I am not sure what can be wrong with the saddle that could not be adjusted by a good guitar tech.
  14. Probably not related. The model select knob problem is widespread. It can bottom out before switching. The cure is to put a small shim in the hole so that the shaft doesn't go in all the way. Easy fix.
  15. Feedback is GREATLY reduced during alternate tunings because as paulsteinway says the pitch from the amp does not match the pitch of the strings. Resonances are enhanced when they are excited at their resonant frequency. String's fundamental resonant frequency is not the same as what the DSP is generating during alternate tunings. This is a real disadvantage of alternate tunings done by DSP.
  16. Look carefully at the jacks on the JTV and HD500 for pin damage. It can happen. If no joy there, you will have to try to figure out which end is at fault for the failure to communicate by trying another JTV or another HD500.
  17. Price reductions often signal an overstock rather than a closeout. JTV price reductions and bargains have been going on for over a year now. I got my 69S a year ago for way less than the regular price. (Sweetwater Demo)
  18. First off, your guitar is just as good if they stop making that model! Don't worry about that. The JTV69 is very popular so I doubt that they would discontinue it. Every car you buy is discontinued at the end of the year and replaced by a new model. Any suggestion that JTV's are discontinued is pure speculation and I doubt that it's the case.
  19. No it doesn't matter. The TRS is only to supply power as well as transfer the guitar output. It's not stereo.
  20. It clearly should not do that. Try a different USB cable too. Something is hosing up your USB connection.
