  1. hey i need some help in figuring out whats going on with my amp. i bought it recently from a pawn shop and i am determined in ressurecting it to full function. if oyu can shoot me a reply or email me @ hiand006@gmail.com. here is a video of my problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYB03I1zPxg
  2. I have the Spider valve 112MKii combo and the Express pedal. I have had a hell of a time figuring how to set up this stuff. anyhow, the express pedal works fine,(stores only 4 sounds/wah and volume) but when I hook it up to my computer, it goes blank.(the pedal) I have all of the drivers installed, and collaborated the pedal, I just want to get MKii EDIT to work, but the computer does not recognize the amp because the fbv express turns off when I plug in the USB cable from the pedal to the usb port on the computer. can I bypass this and use MKii EDIT directly somehow? any ideas??
  3. Hello everyone. I currently use a Pod HD Desktop and love it, but this post isn't exactly about such. I enjoy its features but am saddened by the lack of midi inputs, virtual or physical and was wondering if I could rig it up to one of the Fbv boards (most likely the express). My intention would to use a daw to send midi signals to the fbv, then have that switch between patches in my Pod as necessary for my live show. I know the mkii fbv boards have a single midi input, so I was wondering if it could be used this way or not. Essentially, if you don't understand what I'm trying to accomplish, the guy in this video is doing the same thing, just using physical midi output from a computer interface into a physical midi input on his pod. I would be doing the same, except Daw's midi tracks > Fbv > Pod. Is this possible? Thanks in advance ^_^
  4. yes, your eyes are working well: a car/scooter passed over my FBV Shortboard and I'd like to try repairing it. I would basically need a new chassis and, probably, some ICs. but the chassis is worst... Could somebody help/suggest me? thanx
  5. Hi, first post. I looked around but didn't see this question anywhere. I've been using a Line 6 Spider 2 2x12 combo amp with an FBV shortboard. I just bought a Line 6 Spider 2 half stack, which has identical controls to the combo. If I were to use the shortboard with the half stack, would it still keep the settings that were stored from the combo and transfer those to the new amp? Thanks for any help you can give me! Skot
  6. Hi, I have a Spider Valve 112 and a floorboard plugged in. The pedalboard has decided to stop working. I have tried the floor board in another amp exactly the same and also my pod and it fires up ok. Im assuming this means I have a faulty connection at the amp end. Anyone know the voltages I should be getting down the pins of the FBV connection? Heres what I got...white/orange - 0v, orange - 9v, white/green - 0v, blue - 0v, white blue - 9v, green - 3.2v, white/brown - 3.2v and brown 0v. Is a faulty socket a likely cause or could this be software related? Just checked output on pins on the pod and its 8.2v on every pin. (the pedal works fine on this) I appreciate any help in this matter. Cheers
  7. First, connect the FBV via USB to the computer and use the FBV Control software. In the File>Open menu, select the ‘Gearbox’ preset for the FBV. This will store on the FBV automatically. Close FBV Control. Then, start Gearbox with the FBV still connected to the computer. Go to the Edit>Preferences window, and in the ‘MIDI/Control’ tab, select USB Audio Device for MIDI Input. Hit Apply and then, OK. The FBV will now control certain parameters of the program including Wah/Volume sweep and toggling. If you would like to change the behavior of the switches, you should than exit Gearbox and go back to FBV Control once again to assign MIDI CC Toggle messages that correspond with what they want to control in the program. You can reference the chart for Gearbox MIDI CC messages starting on page 2.14 of the following Gearbox MIDI CC Reference Guide: http://line6.com/data/6/0a060b316ac34f0593546810e/application/pdf/MIDI%20Continuous%20Controller%20Reference%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20F%20).pdf
  8. I have an FBV Shortboard that I purchased with my Flextone III Plus. It works fine; but as of a week ago, the LED display has been going out randomly. It will come back but I never know when. I'm thinking that I might have a loose connection somewhere. I take it everywhere and all the loading/unloading might have jostled something loose. Anyone experience this before?
  9. Hello All, I need help, I want to know can I midi map my floorboard to an electronic rack in ableton live and if so can anyone tell me how. PLEAAASE!
  10. Any possibility that plugging the Pocket POD into my Mac, via USB AND plugging FBV Shortboard MkII into my Mac, via USB, would allow me to control parameters of the PocketPOD from the FBV?
  11. I have a FBV express mkII with my POD x3, and was wondering if I could use this together with my HD500. Would that be possible? As an optional foot controller for instance? Since there is no FBV input I've probably have to use midi in/out then. Or might it be another way?
  12. The main features of the Spider III amplifier can be controlled by connecting an FBV Shortboard MKII. Q: What type of cables are used with the Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII? A: The Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII uses a standard CAT-5/6 cable with standard RJ-45 ends. These cables are very common in data connection and can be found in most local computer outlets. The FBV controllers ship with a black 25' cable included in the box. Please see the chart below that details what each switch controls on the Spider III amplifier.
  13. Q: I'm on a Windows PC. Why does Line 6 FBV Control or POD HD Edit (300/400/500) programs "hang" at the logo screen and never go past this startup splash image? A: Users who have "virtual MIDI Cable" software (a known example is: Hurchalla Maple) installed on their systems may experience a stalled state where the FBV Control or POD HD Edit program logo appears onscreen and the program remains "stuck" trying to load. Please uninstall your virtual MIDI Cable software application and then try re-launching the FBV Control or POD HD Edit program. If you need to have a virtual MIDI Cable program running on your system, please consider using LoopBe1: http://www.nerds.de/data/setuploopbe1.exe or Bome's MIDI Translator Pro: http://www.bome.com/products/miditranslator
  14. Q: Are the XLR outputs of the LD series line level? A: Yes, the XLR outputs on all of our Lowdown amps are balanced line level outputs. The line level output not affected by the output volume of the amplifier, and will send a cabinet simulated tone to your mixing console. Q: What if I do not want the cabinet tone but rather a unaffected tone (like a DI Box?) A: If you desire an unaffected bass tone in addition to the cabinet simulated tone you will want to go into a DI box and send the DI signal to the mixing console, and have the instrument output of the DI go into the instrument input of the Lowdown amplifier. Q: What controllers work with the Lowdown series? A:The FBV series is the correct controller for the Lowdown series, we recommend the FBV Shortboard or FBV Express. The FBV (Longboard) is not optimized for use with the Lowdown family of amplifiers, and the FBV2 is not compatible with a certain amount of early LowDowns. Please contact Line 6 Customer Support in this case for assistance.
