  1. The Spider has a USB connection on the back. Have you tried connecting via usb with the Line 6 updater with the G10T plugged into the amp to see if the Updater sees the G10?

    Tube amps Gone?

No more amps and pedals for me. Just Helix and a couple of JBL Eon 610s. NO regrets. I love that I can load up a preset and it sounds EXACTLY the same every time.
  3. Does the buzz go away when you turn your guitar's volume pot all the way down?
  4. I use pitch wham quite a bit, and do not experience that. What firmware revision are you running?
  5. Are you bypassing the delay with the momentary, or controlling one of the delay parameters with the foot switch?
  6. Are you using a noise gate in the Helix?
  7. The fizz or "sizzle" is normal, and it exists in the real amps as well.
  8. He uses a reactive load. You go from your amp speaker out into the reactive load, then into a DI or Helix return. This allows you to put your amp into one of the loops on Helix and use it in place of an amp model in Helix, and then go to a cab model or IR. https://www.suhr.com/electronics/tone-tools/suhr-reactive-load/
  9. When you say your tones are top notch, do you refer to when you create them at home? Have you played out with these tones before and they are great? If you just had a single issue not sounding good at a new rehearsal facility, were you playing through a different PA than usual? Probably need some additional info to give you relevant feedback.
  10. Sounds like two distinct guitar parts: 1. U2ish Edgy rhythm thing 2. Clean arpeggio thingy with some delay The chicka chicka U2ish rhythm thing can be derived by using whatever your favorite amp/cab model is, with it breaking up a bit, maybe a little compression on the front end, and dotted eighth delay to get the Edge thing going on. Tap in quarter notes to get the delay in time.
  11. The Plexi Bright model is one of my top 3 favorites on Helix. I play a LOT of clean with that model, but is has the added benefit of getting really crunchy. If you are already really familiar and comfortable with the Plexi, I believe it will do everything you are looking for in your post, except for maybe "modern".
  12. I was sensing something too. It turned out I was just hungry. So, I had a snack...
  13. ^This^ as well as guitar and pickups you are using. I have a feeling OP is talking about the "fizz", but I can't quite tell.
  14. Are you using the vintage digital delay block in your preset?
  15. Let me know a song, I may already have one built. I have quite a few in one of my setlists.
  16. Both. Once you figure out your gain staging from your guitar input all the way through the FHFX, you won't have clipping, then you do the same across patches for normalization. I am not familiar with FH so I am not sure the best way to do that. On Helix I connect to Reaper via usb 1/2, put in my amp/cabinet and set it to about -12dB with my desired amp sound. I then check the dB with each individual effect to get around -12. I then tweak by ear each of the combinations. I do not have any "digital clipping" with this method, and each of my patches are "normalized".

    Snapshot help

I think the OP is questing the snaps programming using Editor vs on the Helix itself. I never use Editor for programming, so I am not sure what the issue could be.
  18. Most rechargeable batteries last longer if you drain them "fully" before recharging. I am assuming this is the case with the transmitter. I have my base unit connected to a power strip so I can turn it off. Mine stays in my guitars, I play with mine all week (2-3 hours during the week), and just recharge Saturday night before church. The unit is supposed to have 8 hours of play time, so I am probably not fully draining mine either.
  19. I don't think it will cause you issues. XLR is most likely line level, and the 1/4" instrument level. If it is working for you, I would just leave it.
  20. You can name snaps whatever you want. For a while I had presets on top, snaps on bottom, snaps named INTRO VERSE CHORUS LEAD. I am back to 10 stomp mode now though, generic preset, not preset per song. I have some presets saved with my favorite amp/cab settings, so I can just copy paste that preset as a starting point for new preset. Using Amp/cab block will allow you to tweak all parameters the same as using separate blocks, but you need separate blocks to be able to put effects in between amp and cabinet.
  21. That is true. I landed up buying myself a Dell 2 in 1 for my music stuff so I am not having to fight the kids for the Mac so they can do their homework.
  22. I adjust my volumes to get them close using DAW. I then tweak to taste with my ears. I set my main volume knob (that controls XLRs to FOH) to 2:00 and have a marker on my unit so I am sure to have it on the same setting every time. That also gives me a little headroom if needed (we have limed sound persons running our board). The DAW approach is effective for getting you close.
  23. I also play P&W every week. Those three guitars/PUs you have are very different beasts. I would recommend different presets for your different guitars. If you are doing a preset per song, then be sure to set up that songs preset using the same guitar you plan on playing. A preset set up with your EMGs will be COMPLETELY different from your MIM strat. I play only two guitars at church: Deluxe HSS Strat with Seymour Duncan Vintage Hot Stack in neck, stock noisless N3 mid, Shawbucker bridge. Tele Select with Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack Neck/Bridge. I get PLENTY of drive when needed. I was playing a preset per song, but have transitioned to about 4-6 generic presets. I generally set them up where the amp is on the edge of breakup, then a drive footswitch to increase amp drive and decrease channel volume to get it gritty. I have a drive and distortion pedal in front of amp, modulation before cab, then all of my reverbs and delays after the cab so things are stereo. I'll create a slightly different variation of a preset if I know I will be playing on the bridge humbucker. So even between my two similar guitars, I sometimes have to create a different preset so it will be balanced. Sent me a PM here with your email address and I'll email you. I can send you a few of my presets to see if you like them.
