  1. Hi all - just wanted to share something i noticed after the 3.5 update: if a midi program assignment is done while the helix (LT in my case) is connected and HD edit is open, it does not save. In my case i needed instant messages to switch my amp channel with snapshot changes. The only way to do it and for it to save is directly in the helix with HD edit closed. Otherwise it goes away as soon as you close command center.
  2. I use Pod Go Edit v1.3 to save (Export) files to disk. Since the most recent HW and SW upgrade I've experiences the following problems. When I export my preset to disk and later load it, changes are not being saved. However, if I save the preset to Pod Go internal memory and then Export it, I can recall it later with no problems. I've been doing this for years way back to the days of GearBox. Anyone else having similar problems. Second difficulty is in previous versions of Pod Go Edit, if a change was made to a preset, the Preset Name would be ITALICIZED to denote that a change has been made and suggest that you might want to Save the change - in case you forgot. I made a quick video to illustrate that both problems exist [ https://youtu.be/6HqgO1J1twU ]. Anyone else having similar problems?
  3. I've got a Line 6 Spider V 240HC with the matching 412 cab, and an FBV Express MKII foot controller. Im trying to figure out how to save certain amps to certain Letter Pedals. Like save cowboys from hell to a (or whichever) and save something clean, like acoustic rhythm, to another letter pedal, like b (or whichever) to where when im playing a show, i dont have to go back to my amp and switch from heavy to clean, especially when its quick changes in songs that cant be dragged out. Help is very much appreciated.
  4. Ok, here's the deal, On my main preset, I'm trying to send à midi cc command per snapshot (command center, instant 1, midi cc). I program each snapshot with a different value (0 - 7) and then save the preset. At this point everything works fine and helix will send CC commands at each change of the snapshots. BUT, if I happen to make any further changes in the command center (i.e. footswitch assignment) and then save the preset again, all the differents values, which I adressed per snapshot, now become the same, therefore not sending any midi command out (since there is no longer a different midi cc value between each snapshots). I can reprogram each snapshot individually with the different cc values I want and then save again and everything works again, I just think it's a tedious process each time I do a minor change in the command center... Is there a way to overcome this behavior?
  5. I'm using Amplifi Remote version 2.50.1 and it works great on my Kindle. The only thing I can't figure out is how to save a preset to Favorites??? Any ideas? I haven't updated to the newer version of the Amplifi app on the Kindle because when I download 2.60 from there, it always installs as 2.50. I've tried it a few times... weird right?
  6. My big Question is .... Did the CUSTOM TONES site stop posting Downloads in the page. Spider Jam only. So the bigger question do i have a account? YES.... what is going on? Do i need to have a older computer? Has this been discontinue services.? Has anyone else had or having this problem?
  7. I will create a new patch, give it a name, build it exactly as I want, then hit the save button, but the patch reverts to the empty default setting. I can hunch over the Helix, create it and save it and the Editor accepts the new patch. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or how to fix it? Frankly, it's a lot easier to create patches on the computer and you don't have to put the Helix on the desk and then hunch and hold your forearms up in the air while trying not to touch the touch-sensitive foot switches.
  8. Hi, This is Rudra from Kolkata, India. I have a POD X3 bean. It's Save button is malfunctioning. If I press it, it is acting as same as the "HOME SCREEN" button and even sometimes acts as same like "INPUTS" button but not as "SAVE". So I am unable to save my patches now. In deep trouble. Plz help. Regards, Rudra
  9. So after I finish editing, I want to save. And there are 3 choices I can choose. 1. Save to My Tones ---> This will create NEW TONE with the OLD NAME. Not replacing. 2. Save to My Tone as... ---> This will create NEW TONE with the NEW NAME. Not replacing. 3. Save to Firehawk FX So my point is... Where is the SAVE which acts like SAVE in general software? It should act like I update the old one with my edited one, right? Now I have to "Save to My Tones" and go to "My Tones" to delete the old one every time ? And I have to save quite often because if I accidentally step on the ABCD switch while I'm trying to actually step on the FS1-5 switch, what i'm editing just gone. Is it me who don't know how to save or is it the software that lack the function ? Thanks, Duke.
  10. Hi there, I have a little problem with my pod hd500: When working with patches in the ABCD mode the postion of the effects assigned to the footswitches 1-4 always stay the same. What I mean is: I have saved a patch with a effect on fs1 that is activated. I turn it off. Then I change to preset 2 and back to the first one (with the effect pedal). The effect will be turned on again, even if I left it deactivated. When switching to a preset the footswitches always return exactly to the positon in which they are saved. :( I find that really annoying. Any possibilties to change that, so that the pod will remember if I turned the effect on or off without saving it everytime (which isn't possible while playing of course). I hope you understood my question, :) Steven
  11. Hi, I don't know if it's a bug coming from POD HD Edit or the hardware unit itself but it's VERY annoying. I already lost some custom presets because of it. What's happening is when I'm tweaking then saving my presets on the POD or POD HD Edit, the preset is saved in the location I specified (let's say setlist 3, 12B) but it's also sometime duplicated and saved in another setlist (setlist 2 for ex, 12B) erasing whatever preset was populating the 12B space. Unfortunately I can't replicate this issue as it seems to happen randomly. The duplicate always saves in the same preset spot as the original (for ex. 14C) but in a different setlist. But it's happening quite often to be VERY annoying and frustrating, especially when you discover a duplicate of your Metallica preset in your Pop Rock setlist, erasing the Santana preset you have been tweaking to perfection for months... Oddly I could only find one thread mentioning this exact same issue: http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/91585 Maybe it's the way we both use POD HD Edit or the POD. The POD factory setlists are loaded, leaving me with 3 empty setlists I populated and are now almost full. My setlists are organized as follow: 1/ Metal 2/ Pop Rock Acoustic 3/ Ambient FX that's why it's easy for me to spot a preset that doesn't belong to one or other setlist. To save a patch I either use the SAVE button on the POD or send it from POD HD Edit to the POD. I sometime reorganize my setlists moving patches all over the place, and I'm always very careful to what I do so when there's a duplicate, it's not user error. The only workaround I found (which is actually not really a workaround) is to save my preset bundle before editing, and then again in another file after editing so I can compare both bundles preset after preset and see the changes. Very annoying once again, but at least this way I'm not losing any patch. This really needs to get fixed.
  12. Hello. For 3 months, every time that I save a patch the Pod X3 Live saves it in the D slot. It doesn't matter if I'm in the 24A or 22B or 13C, etc, it saves the current patch and overwrites the respective D slot at the same time. I try to update the flash memory, firmware and every looks ok in the Line 6 Monkey, but the problem is still happening. Any suggestions? PS: Sorry for the english
  13. For JTV-89 Customers Only: In addition to the 28 electric, acoustic and electric instruments, you also get five high-gain models exclusive to the JTV-89 guitars based on the high output magnetic pickups loaded into the Custom 1 Bank. Each model is based on a different pickup position, and delivers high-gain guitar tone while allowing you to access drop tunings, custom Dream Rig configurations and more. Because of this, you will NOT be able to modify or save your own custom settings to the Custom 1 Bank on the JTV-89 and 89F guitars. 14. Hi, I'm an intermediate guitarist who has owned a Spider IV amp for a long time and has been souly living off switching between the preset tones on the left dial (Metal, Insane, Twang etc...). I am not an expert and know next to nothing about amplifiers so if you could help me out here, thank you. There's 4 channel buttons at the top which are presets for a certain tone, When I change the tone on that channel, it reverts back to the standard built-in tone and forgets my customisations, how do I get it to save the changes? Sorry if this is extremely vague, the amplifier jargon hasn't sunk in yet. Still learning. Thanks :D
  15. Q: I have a blank screen on my Vetta? A: If you can't see any characters on your Vetta when you are going through the update, please angle your Vetta or look very closely at the screen at an angle. You should see a faint readout on the screen. If you cannot see anything at all (and adjusting the contrast does not help), you will need to reinstall the firmware. See the Vetta Software Update/Reflash Procedure for the correct method for reflashing your Vetta. Line 6 recommends (but does not officially support) the M-AUDIO MIDISport Uno. Some MIDI to USB devices use an old technology known as "active sensing" and/or they cannot handle the large file transfer. Please ensure that you install the correct drivers directly from the M-Audio website. Q: I have slow patch changes on my Vetta? A: If program changes seem slow when switching from preset to preset after you've upgraded the Vetta's software, you will want to reset the program memory. Here's how: Press SAVE and scroll to page 11 "RESET FACTORY". While on this page, press SAVE to reset the Factory Bank. The right LCD will read "restoring FACTORY bank". When this process is complete, scroll to page 12 "RESET USER" and press SAVE once again. The right LCD will now read "restoring USER bank". Press TAP when the process is complete. Program change should now be back to normal. If this does not fix the problem, you want to reinstall the FLASH MEMORY on your VETTA II. This time when you are asked if you want to keep your existing patches, click NO. Q: Presets are not saved after I reboot my Vetta? A: The internal battery should be relaced. We use lithium batteries in the Vetta to store the user presets, a common replacement is the Panasonic BR2325-1HG. The current battery will need to be de-soldered and replaced with a new battery. If you are not confident in doing this replacement, it should be performed by an authorized Line 6 Service Center. Q: I get no sound when I plug my Variax into my Vetta's VDI? A: Ensure that the Variax is outputing signal and that your Vetta is receiving the informing by check the step in the Vetta manual (see 47 and 440 for more information). Also, press the "Output Setup" button then rotate the page knob to page 4/4. Look for "Format" section and turn the format knob (first from the left) to 44.1/16. Q: I am receiving an "access error" on my Vetta? A: This is an internal hardware error that needs to be serviced at an authorized Line 6 service center. Q: I am receiving eight "black boxes" in the display on my Vetta? A: This is an internal hardware error that needs to be serviced at an authorized Line 6 service center. Q: How do I find an authorized Line 6 Service Center? Click here to find a Service Center.
  16. Step 1: First, you will need to know where your tones reside on your computer. In this example, the path/location will be: C:\Documents and Settings\(User Account Name)\My Documents\Line 6\Tones\Line 6 Edit\Downloaded Tones. Keep in mind that "Downloaded Tones" is an arbitrarily created folder to organize the downloaded patches. Step 2: Open Line 6 Edit: Step 3: The LEFT window of the Line 6 edit program represents your computer's hard drive. The RIGHT window represents the Patch Locations of your connected Line 6 USB hardware device (in this case, a POD XT Live). Browse to the correct location of your saved patches (mentioned in Step 1) in the LEFT window. Step 4: In our example, we will transfer the "AC 30" tone from our hard drive over to the POD XT Live Location #1A. Step 5: Highlight the desired patch in the LEFT window. Step 6: highlight the location (1A) on the device in the RIGHT window. Step 7: Click on the "Selected SEND" button in the CENTER window: Step 8: Note the red-yellow "Exclamation" mark in the transfered "AC 30" in location 1A. This indicates that it is a temporary buffer transfer. In order to finalize your transfer, you will need to click on the "SYNC" button in the lower right-hand corner of the ToneLocker window. Step 9: After clicking on "SYNC", you will be prompted to confirm the transfer. Select "Write Selected Tones to (Device)". Step 10: Another confirmation message "This will write the selected modified Tones..." will appear, select "YES": Wait for the transfer to take place (don't make any changes to your gear or unplug the unit): After completing these steps, your Device will have the desired Patch/Tone saved to the location specified. The same procedure can be used for "bundles" of tones as well.
