I've been the owner of the TonePort UX2 since its release [I actually have two, just in case one ever fails] As Gear Box was not supported on anything newer than Mojave, that's what I'm still on, with my maxed-out cheesegrater Mac Pro 5,1 [& a similarly-equipped MBP]. Because I've been stuck for so long in this time capsule, i haven't investigated new moves in the driver/software world, until today I spotted the new Line 6 Central, and then the fact that we have drivers even for newer Apple silicon Macs. I don't see anything that would enable Gear Box, though. I presume Central is the new Monkey, acting as a license handler, but does it have additional functionality? I haven't seen any pictures of the interface yet & can't find a manual [because yes, I can rtfm if I can find one ;). Is this correct, and is there anything that will actually enable the UX2 guitar/mic amps, plus give access to editing - because, of course, they don't enable until you launch Gear Box ordinarily. I have an M1 iMac on Ventura I could test this out on - but it's set up a long way from my studio & would be a fair bit of hassle only to find I don't have this essential bit of functionality.

Hey everyone. I've been an UX 2 user for almost 7 years and never had a problem, until now. I bought a new computer with an I7 13700, 32 Gb ram and etc... a high-end system. 1st thing I did was installing my UX 2 and podfarm 2. I got the guitar and there is just a buzzing, piercing noise coming from the speakers and I am desperate since I have no idea how to get it sorted and what is the conflict. Tried also with STL to check if it was Pod farm but nah, same thing. Terrible noise. I've checked the settings over and over but can't figure what is wrong. Downloaded ASIO also, just in case but nothing, same story. With my old computer (almost 9 years old) everything worked perfectly. With this new one there must be something I am missing, I guess/hope. Any idea what could it be? This is just so frustrating. Thanks

I am having difficulty getting dual input to work with my Line6 UX2. I am trying to setup my rig to have an electric guitar + vocal input playing at the same time, but I just can't figure it out. I know that both the vocals + guitar work fine in both Podfarm + Ableton too. But on Podfarm the second 'Input' is greyed out and I can't even click on it. I only seem to have the option to swap between guitar/vocals on Input 1. I can also see on the UX2 device that both of the monitors are showing identical input. I have a feeling that I am missing something really basic, but does anyone have a clue how I can get this setup to work? (Or tell me what I am missing...) I have attached a photo of the greyed out input in Podfarm. Cheers for your help

Good morning, I hope you are well. I wanted to comment on what happened to my UX2, it was working and the lights went out and it stopped working. There was no surge, nothing abnormal happened. Any ideas? It's not detected by the operating system. Is there a way to revive it via USB or something similar or it definitely died. If the same thing happened to anyone, it would be helpful. Thank you very much.

I have installed line monkey and updated my drivers for the hardware but when it comes to getting pod farm i get hung up on the installer and the process doesn't go through. I have got the included pod farm disc that came with the product but i have no way of using it due to me not having a disc drive in my pc. Any advice is appreciated.

Please help me diagnose the problem I'm having so I can finally, finally get recording. I have owned this product for close to 3 years and it still isn't doing anything for me. I bought the UX2 in the hopes that I could begin some basic, rudimentary, at-home recording. I plugged it in and installed it and it worked great -- right up until I started recording. Every single recording that I create with my UX2 sounds like garbage. I have not had the time or money to try a new box or new software after sinking hours and hours into this one, tweaking this and that in hopes that I might find the problem. When I play live, it sounds great on my monitor. When I record it, the recording comes out muddy, noisy, and greatly reduced in quality. I can't use any of this! Here are example recordings. When I play live, these tones sound great -- clear, rich, low-end performance-quality. Listen to them and tell me something isn't wrong with this product. https://www.dropbox.com/s/238lqudzkb96kym/33.wav?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/j464nw579nmeajc/22.wav?dl=0 Steps I have taken to fix the problem: 1. Changing DAWs. - I have used Audacity, Reason, Audition, Cakewalk, and Ableton. All of them have the exact same issue, so I have to conclude that it is either the box or the software. 2. Changing settings - I have checked the bitrate (16bits 44100) - I have recorded dry and then added Pod Farm effects as a VST. - I have checked volume and signal levels. - I have tried with and without distortion -- the loss of quality is the same with both. - I have changed windows settings to see if that's the issue. - I have run my programs by themselves with all other programs shut off in case it was a processor issue (my computer is fairly powerful, 6Gb ram, dual core 2.6Ghz) 3. Uninstall and reinstall - No change 4. Used the low-gain input - still a loss of quality.

My UX2 has worked fine for 12 years. Suddenly the Mic inputs are working fine, but the Line 1 and Line 2 inputs are not registering anything. I changed the input in the mixer view, but no signal showing on the meters. Any ideas?

Hello, I have been using the toneport ux2 for a while to connect my studio monitors to my pc and had no problems with it. Recently i bought a xlr microphone and connected it. It was all good untill I shut down my computer. When I turned on my computer it didnt work. The fix I found was changing the inputs & recording to another one and then swapping it back in the Line 6 Audio-MIDI devices program and changing the default format in the settings of the audio interface. The problem switches between the mic not working at all or producing a very loud white noise. I already updated all my drivers and checked the cables / connections, it is a software based problem. Does anyone know a fix for this because it is pretty annoying changing around the settings every time I want to use the microphone.

Hello there. I'm a UX2 user like 5 years, which i've been gifted by my uncle in USA. Once, i had not any problems, while i was using Windows 7 i suppose. Then in time, some problems started to occur. Biggest one was -and still is- that, all of a sudden sound is gone and i don't have any option but to restart my computer. Either playing a game or watching a video, listening to music, all of a sudden, bam! Sound is gone and nothing helps but a restart! And it also randomly happens again after a restart as well. I started to have this problem in Windows 7, had in 8 and now in 10 it still happens. I did not change any computer part since then (cpu, mobo etc.) Besides, i've not got a second problem, which freaks me out often. As before, during any playback, a loud "white noise-ish" distort occurs for a second or two, then playback continues. This happens quite randomly, sometimes twice in 10 seconds, sometimes once, sometimes never. I've tried every driver i can, the oldest and the newest ones, tried changing the buffer sizes, buffer lengths, depths etc. What's more interesting is, this problems do not happen for two or three weeks, and the week after, it's an absolute nightmare! It's like, as if it has something to do with the days of the months! I do not overclock, my system is all stable and not overheated during even the hardest gaming sessions. I'm quite fed up with this problem. One day, i'll break the hell out of this device and post the images as an ultimate solution for the people who have such problems as well.. Please, i beg you; please help me!

I have tried many things to solve this problem but I can't figure it out and I need your help. I'm not too knowledgeable with audio equipment because I have only just started using the UX2 and my At2035 for streaming on twitch. Everything was working just fine up until I restarted my pc. I know my XLR microphone works, all of my drivers are up to date, I have unplugged everything and re-plugged. I found that if I unplugged my Microphone there is a terrible noise still coming from the ux2 somehow? so, it couldn't be my microphone that is the problem I'm assuming? If anyone could help me out I would be very grateful, thanks!

Hello! I've had a Line 6 Toneport UX2 for a couple of years now. Recently I got a new desktop PC running windows 10. When i connect my toneport all I can hear coming from the outputs and the phones output is a loud hissing noise. Drivers are all up to date, line 6 monkey shows me all green ticks, asio drivers are all ok. the input vu-meter is always at maximum even though nothing is connected to it. no input signal, no output sound (except for the loud hiss.) Running it in a usb 2.0 on the motherboard (so no usb dongle or something like that). Tried it with all ports, a couple of different usb cables. I've also tried seeing if my PC's output voltage was the problem but everything is ok, no overclocking done. I'm running out of ideas. Could anyone help me with this?

So recently purchased my AT2035 and Line 6 UX2. While I have some knowledge of audio interfaces, I find myself a bit lost when it comes to my microphone's specific issue. I have found that the microphone levels are very low and even with a volume boost it sounds rather low quality. I have tested my mic with no presets and it sounds very quiet reaching only roughly around -25 db. I have also tested various presets and have found using the default studio vocal preset to be the best; a bit louder, but still very quiet. It may also be important to note that the Mic 1/L Gain is in this position: Below I have posted screenshots of my UX2 audio interface and have given a small audio sample. The first half of the audio file is with no pre-amps or effects added and the second half contains the default studio vocal preset. I still believe the mic to be too quiet and am at a loss as to what is causing this. Any help is greatly appreciated! Mic.mp3

i tried to follow the tutorial on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIeJjy9Ruro&t=184s&ab_channel=Line6Support But at 6 minutes when he showed what could happen , it did not show what i was experiencing . my clip light weren't going back and forth And my light meters did not light up . nothing was lighting up despite following the tutorial to this point . I tried to reinstall pod farm and the drivers multiple times but it did not work. (but i guess there is an issue with the drivers ) If anyone can help me i will be very thankfull

Version française. Deutsche Version. We have created an accompanying video tutorial for the License Manager below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=GStUee2cyz4 What is the Line 6 License Manager? Similar to online services such as iTunes or Google Play Store, the Line 6 License Manager allows you to authorize & manage all of your purchased Line 6 software licenses so that they function simultaneously with multiple computers and/or Line 6 devices. For instance, you can have a Mac computer, a Windows computer, a POD XT, and a TonePort, and be able to use your purchased licenses on all of them once the devices are properly authorized. This goes for new license purchases as well as purchases made in the past. Additionally, the Line 6 License Manager provides online access to your line6.com User Account, allowing you to reference your purchase history, register your gear, manage account options and more! The License Manager replaces Line 6 Monkey as the tool to use to manage licenses. Line 6 Monkey continues to be used as an updating tool for Line 6 devices. What devices work with the License Manager? A compatible device can be a Mac or Windows computer, or any supported Line 6 USB device that is connected. POD HD/HDX, POD Studio, TonePort, GuitarPort, POD X3 and POD XT devices are all supported for license authorization. Can I remove licenses from my Line 6 device or transfer them to a different Line 6 device? Since your purchased licenses are attached to your account, and not your devices, using licenses on different Line 6 devices is only a matter of authorizing the devices. NOTE: One exception is Factory Add-Ons. These are features that can only be used with the device it came with and cannot be removed from that device to be shared with your other Line 6 devices. For example, POD XT Live comes with an FX Junkie Add-On. After authorization, License Manager does not make that unit's FX Junkie available to your other authorized devices. In License Manager, Factory Add-Ons are displayed in italics once you've selected a device and goes on to say "these Add-Ons can only be authorized on this device". How many devices can I authorize? You can authorize your purchased license(s) to more than one device at the same time; however, your number of simultaneously active authorizations is limited to five. This limit includes four of the same type of device (i.e. four different UX-1 devices, or four different computers) simultaneously authorized. If you have reached the maximum number of allowable authorized devices, the License Manager will remind you of this. If this happens, you can Deauthorize one or more of your authorized (computer or Line 6) devices within the License Manager. This will then allow you authorize another device. You can authorize up to eleven unique devices over the lifetime of your Line 6 account. Additionally, the maximum number of Line 6 accounts that can authorize a specific device over its lifetime is limited to five. How do I authorize my device(s) for use with my licenses? Download and install the latest version of Line 6 License Manager for your operating system from the Line 6 software page. Go to the following link for software downloads: Line 6 Software downloads. Before launching the Line 6 License Manager, be sure to have your Internet connection active (and your Line 6 device connected, if you are using one). Launch the License Manager: On Mac® - Go to /Applications/Line 6/Line 6 License Manager. On Windows® - Go to Start menu\Programs\Line 6\Tools\Line 6 License Manager. Log in to your Line 6 account. Select the device you want to authorize for use with your licenses and click the authorize button. Once the authorization process completes, you may be prompted with a screen informing you that your Line 6 device includes some Add-Ons that need to be Installed on your device. If you are presented with this screen, click the Install button to proceed. If the Install button or the list of your software is missing, use the "Scan for Devices" button, or restart License Manager. Deauthorize then authorize again if these actions don't resolve the issue. At this point, you are able to use your licenses on your authorized device. Repeat this process with any of your other devices you want to authorize for use with your licenses. My Line 6 hardware is already authorized. How do I add my recently purchased software to my device? If you recently purchased software on your Line 6 account, and License Manager shows that your computer or Line 6 hardware is already authorized but does not show the new software in the 'Add-Ons' list, de-authorize the device(s) you want to use with the new software. Afterwards, authorize the device(s) to use the new software. I authorized my device(s), but I don't see anything under "Add-Ons". Are my licenses gone??? Your licenses are attached to your account until you gift them to another account. Click on the "Scan for Devices" button if they don't appear after authorizing, or restart the app. Can I use the License Manager to activate or manage RiffWorks or iLok licenses? The License Manager will manage the Line 6 version of RiffWorks, but not RiffWorks Standard, which requires a SonomaKey from Sonoma Wireworks. iLok licenses are deposited from your Line 6 account to your www.iLok.com account, but License Manager is not used to do this. Is an Internet connection required to purchase licenses and authorize devices? Yes, purchasing of licenses requires an Internet connection. After the purchase, License Manager must connect to your Line 6 account so you can authorize your device(s) for use with your purchased license. How do I deauthorize a device? To deauthorize an authorized device, select the device within Line 6 License Manager and click the Deauthorize button. When deauthorizing a Line 6 USB device, you may also be presented with an extra step to Remove the licenses from the device. If you are presented with this screen, just click Remove and wait for the Line 6 Server to properly configure your device. If anything happens to my Line 6 device, or my hard drive crashes, do I lose my licenses? No, your model packs will be safe. They are tied to your Line 6 account, not your Line 6 devices or the software installation on your computer. Your Line6.com user account maintains a record of all model pack purchases. In the event that your device needs repairs or replacement, Line 6 Customer Support will be able to deauthorize the faulty device as needed. I can't use my licenses anymore. What happened? Please understand that only the account that purchased the licenses will be able to access the licenses, regardless of who has the device containing the licenses. If you can't access this account, you won't be able to access the licenses contained within it. For instance, if someone bought a used POD XT that was authorized with a Metal Shop license, and at some point the buyer deauthorized the POD XT or authorized any other license, the Metal Shop license that was on the POD XT would be removed. The buyer would no longer be able to use Metal Shop because the buyer's account was not used to make the Metal Shop purchase. The seller would have to gift the model pack to the buyer's account (see how to gift below). Another case is a father using his Line 6 account to buy a model pack for his daughter. He'd have to gift the purchase to her Line 6 account for her to have access to the model pack. Another scenario involves licenses purchased online. Line 6 is the only authorized seller of licenses for use with Line 6 devices. If you purchased Line 6 licenses from anywhere other than the Line 6 website, the licenses were originally purchased using a Line 6 user account other than your own and the licenses have reverted to that account. The account owner would have to gift the store order to you in order for you to use the licenses you purchased from that individual. Line 6 plays no part in this situation. What if I sell my device? What happens to my licenses? If you intended to sell your licenses with the device, then you can gift the relevant store order(s) to the buyer. If you didn't intend to sell your licenses with the device, when the buyer runs the License Manager and logs in, it will prompt him to authorize the hardware, which will remove the device authorization from your account and restore the licenses for use with your account. How do I gift a store order? Use the License Manager to first deauthorize all of your devices. Next, log in to your Line 6 account, visit the Purchase History page, and click the Details link for the order. Click the link/button labeled "gift", then enter the destination Line 6 account username and click confirm. The order will still show in your account history, but you will not have access to the license(s) from the order, be able to return it, or be able to gift it again. The giftee's account will display the order on the Purchase History page, but not be able to return or gift it. The account holder will have access to all the license(s) in the order. After deauthorizing your devices and completing the gifting process, you can re-authorize your devices to use with any remaining licenses. NOTE: Model Packs purchased as part of an email promotion cannot be gifted. How do I return my purchased license? Line 6 will gladly provide a full refund of any Line 6 License order within fifteen (15) days of the order date. After 15 days, returns will not be accepted and no refunds will be issued. Please note: All Software purchased in a single transaction must be returned together. A refund for less than the full original order amount cannot be issued. Contact our staff at www.Line6.com/company/contact to initiate a refund. You must first have fully deauthorized all of your devices using License Manager before the return process can begin. After our staff has determined the devices are deauthorized, a refund will be processed. The completion of the refund process can take up to 5-7 business days, depending on your bank. Once you receive confirmation that the process has begun, you can re-authorize your devices to use with any remaining licenses. I don't see my connected device in License Manager. What's wrong? If you don't immediately see your connected device, try connecting it to a different USB port on your computer and click the Scan for Devices button. Additionally, disconnect all hubs and non-essential USB, Firewire, and MIDI devices from your computer. Turn off any other programs that may be running and de-activate all anti-virus software installed on your computer. License Manager says that there is no connection to the internet even though I am connected and able to access the internet normally. What's wrong? There are a number of issues that can cause Line 6 License Manager to not be able to connect with the Line 6 servers. The biggest offenders are pop-up blockers and surfing anonymizers. Please disable these tools if they are active during your session. Which server port does License Manager access and how does it need to be configured? Your server connections need to have port 80 or 443 outbound. Another option is to use a proxy server. What are the system requirements for the Line 6 License Manager? The Line 6 License Manager is compatible with the following operating systems: Windows: XP or newer Mac: OSX 10.4 or newer Line 6: License Manager: Häufig gestellte Fragen: Wir haben ein Begleitvideo in Englisch hierzu erstellt, welches Sie ganz oben finden können. Ihr Line6.com Benutzerkonto beinhaltet all Ihre Lizenzen.

Hi all, First question posed to the Line 6 forums. Apologies if this topic has come up before but couldn't find it on here. I've recently bought a new iMac and wanted to install my Line 6 UX2. It was previously installed on my old computer (now dead). This iMac doesn't have a CD drive so I downloaded Pod Farm from the software section of this site. When it comes to installing said software and choosing where you want it to be installed it says that 'POD Farm can't be installed on this disk', despite this being a new machine and the HD having over 3TB of free space. And there is nowhere else you can select for the software to be installed. Has anybody encountered this before? And if so is there a solution? Many Thanks Mark

Does anybody know if the UX2 works on iPhone or iPad using a lightning-to-usb-adapter? Is the interface recognized? Can you record in GarageBand with it?

Line 6 monkey downloads driver but after it is installed, device is still blinking red lamps meaning it can't be used and it is not detected as valid output. When I starting monkey again it show that driver not installed. 5th time in a row it fakes installations, and shows driver is not installed. Every time drivers says that all ok continue, finish.

Hello, I have a question for the more experienced users of POD Farm 2.5. I use the UX2 sound card and the related Pod Farm 2.5 software in standalone mode. I would like to get the following: If I connected guitar and microphone and the guitar is on tone A and the microphone on tone B and I wanted the tone A of the guitar to come out only from the S / PDIF output without going to the final recording output, while the Tone B of the microphone went to the final output is it possible? Can it be done without the two tones mixing and clashing? Basically what I need is to get the guitar tone out without going to the final outputs (I thought I would do it via the S / PDIF output) and only the B tone of the microphone must go to the final recording or monitoring output. What settings should I have in POD Farm's mixer to do this? Thanks so much to those who will be able to help me! Gil72

I don't normally post to forums, but after experiencing issues with my UX2 with Windows 8 I found in the archived forums many other people were having the same problem (as recently as last month) with similar hardware. I was experiencing random audio dropouts on my PC. The audio would stop completely throughout all applications. The only way I could find to get it back was to restart my PC. I know it is not a hardware issue as I have a dual boot PC which runs both Windows 7 and windows 8. The UX2 always has always performed perfectly on Windows 7. Here is the solution which appears to have fixed the issue on my PC. I was experiencing the problem multiple times daily since installing windows 8, but haven't had it reoccur since I found this setting about a week ago. I've been pulling my hair out for months and was right on the edge of uninstalling Windows 8, but now it seems to be working great. I'm hoping this post can help others enjoy their line6 devices again. The solution: 1. open power options. 2. click "change plan settings" for the plan you are currently using 3. Click "change advanced power settings" 4. Under USB settings -->USB selective suspend setting --> setting, change to disabled (I have noticed the setting has changed itself back, but the problem hasn't reoccurred so maybe there's a bug in windows 8 in the power options. Maybe if yours is disabled by default, you could try enabling it) Sorry to make this post so long, but since the forums have been archived I couldn't reply directly in the thread where the problem was first mentioned. I hope this is a permanent solution and helps everyone. If it does maybe someone could shout me a copy of Podfarm2.5 Platinum...just kidding :P

I updated my Mac (iMac) and Mac OSX to Catalina and my KB37 interface stopped working, Tried a UX2 and same result -- flashing clipping (red) lights indicating drivers not loading. Tech support told me it was a security issue but instructions could have been clearer, so posting them here in the hope they will be useful. 1. Install driver package and restart computer. 2. Go to System Preferences and then Security & Privacy 3. Go to the General tab and look for "Some System Software was blocked from loading" 4. Unlock (so type in password) and click on Allow 5 Select Line 6 checkbox I was told that you should not wait to long (less than 15 minutes) after the restart to do the security setting. Hope this helps.

This seems like a simple problem, but I haven't found any sufficient answers through my two hours of scouring the internet! Needless to say, it's driving me a little crazy. It was working just fine less than 24 hours ago! There is no sound whatsoever coming out of my speakers or headphones (each plugged in to the appropriate ports). Monkey is all updated; green checks everywhere. Output knob and phones knob are at maximum. Input/Output in Mac preferences is set for UX2. I've tried switching out usb cables and trying different ports. Tested headphones and speakers on other devices, they work. The only thing that changed was that I pulled out the usb cable and put it into a usb hub for a moment, then took it out and put it right back into the mac directly (I forgot, no hub with the UX2). Right after that, it stopped working correctly. Also, when I try to use logic pro X and gearbox, it doesn't register any sound coming from the mic, and when I try to play back something I recorded just a few days ago using the exact same settings, I get this message: Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI Sample Rate 23482 recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device. I use a mac with OSX 10.9.1, fully updated. The UX2 has power, the meters are at min and don't move, and the clip lights seem to be stuck on to orange.

Hey! So I've been dealing with this issue for seriously a year or two, but it's gotten insane the past couple months where it's every single time I start up my computer. Needed to finally make a topic since it's never been described exactly like this for me. Here is a video link to see what's happening: (If there's a more preferred way to share this just let me know please) Dropbox Link for UX2 Hiss Video I will need to unplug and replug my interface in for an unknown amount of times before the issue resolves itself. Sometimes it breaks the driver and I reinstall the UX2 drivers to get rid of the blinking red lights and it works again for the time I have my computer booted up. The noises vary but are similar. Some high pitched, some with a rhythmic pulse like it could be the power source, I have a battery backup surge protector everything runs through. Others sound like a High-Pass is on it, and some are bassy. Never know what you're going to turn the monitors on for and hear. I've tried switching the ports I've plugged into, taking every other plug of my UX2 out and replugged them in with varying orders, turning knobs while having it plugged in and out, etc. I have Mackey MR5s if that gives any help somehow. And I have attached an HTML and TXT file for my CPU info from CPU-Z KYLE-NZXT-DESKT.html KYLE-NZXT-DESKT.txt
