Muchas gracias.
  2. Hello, I recently thought about an idea that could increase the flexibility and functionality of the HX Stomp. I posted the idea on the Idea Scale. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or suppor for the idea if you like it. Here is the link to the post on the Idea Scale: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/idea/103088 And here is the idea itself: Adding a LOOPER MODE as a footswitch mode to the HX Stomp would be cool. It could be accessible as other modes or via MIDI (0=Stomp, 1=Scroll, 2=Preset, 3=Snapshot, 4=Next footswitch mode, 5=Previous footswitch mode, 6=LOOPER MODE). In this mode, you could have the 3 footswitches on the Stomp dedicated to the looper functions of the 1-switch looper, expanding on its functionality to a full 6-switch looper: FS1 - REC/OVEDUB (long press UNDO) FS2 - PLAY/STOP (long press HALF SPEED) FS3 - PLAY ONCE (long press REVERSE) LINE 6 has introduced LOOPER MODES in the past (M9, POD HD-500X), so maybe it is possible with the Stomp as well. This would greatly expand the functionality of the Stomp in my opinion, since one could be more flexible with assigning the footswitches in STOMP MODE.
  3. Hi I need a big external footswitch for my stomp for live use as a boost (bit of amp gain). I'd really like one with a light to indicate is on or not so would have to be a latched switch. Apparently according to this https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/line-6-hx-stomp-add-on-footswitches.2049510/ A latched one will work fine. You just have to set the settings as 'unlatched' So is there any reason why this won't work: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bespeco-VM22-Latching-Control-Pedal/dp/B00IF0JIFA/ Basically a cheap copy of the Boss FS-5L I know stomp won't know the status of the light on the footswitch but surely if I set it as same state when I start a session (usually off) it'll stay in sync with the stomp as I turn the boost on and off Thanks :)
  4. Hello, I wonder if would it be possible to add the same option, as the one available in HX Stomp (picture from manual below) to 'bigger' units like LT or Floor? Is it the hardware limitation, that makes it (at least for now) impossible to use EXP2 port in those devices or it could possibly be added by firmware upgrade? I think it may be useful for some users, and definitely for me since I am using looper a lot and therefore I have already expected some issues with stock footswitches... Nothing that couldn't be solved by simple cleaning but still serious enough to be dangerous during live performance... I am just curious if it is even possible on current units.
  5. I've gone ahead and opened up a ticket for a failing footswitch on by brand new Helix. Anyone else experience anything similar? Any solutions? My heart is broken!
  6. The "Effect" option and the entire LFS2 footswitch is a latching footswitch with LED lights. This allows you to turn on the effects and make channels changes. The LED will correspond with the effect being on or off. If you're switching channels, this overrides the effect option in the saved preset. Even though the saved preset might have the effect turned to the "OFF" position, this will still appear as ON with the footswitch. This is why you may not getting certain settings as "Saved" when you have the LFS2 pedal connected. Since the pedal is overriding the saved preset default settings. This is normal behavior for the LFS2 latching footswitch. The footswitch options correspond with the LED lights. You can save it correctly with the LFS2 disconnected, or with the Catalyst Edit software. If you see the lettering at the top of Catalyst edit as RED, this means the preset is changed. TAN lettering would mean its saved and hasn't been changed.
  7. I've got Helix Floor with HX Edit. After updating to 3.60 I noticed changes to my USER preset -- footswitch buttons / assigned stomps changed. Update from 3.50 to 3.60 went fine (the restore from backup took longer than I've experienced before I think). Note I followed recommendation to factory reset (everything, button 8&9) before restoring from backup. Issue: in my USER presets, I noticed that only the top buttons showed my pre-assigned "stomp" effects (originally assigned via touching buttons). I was expecting to see the top and bottom rows with my pre-assigned "stomp" effects (or blank if unassigned). I checked Global Settings >> Footswitches and changed the 2nd setting/knob and couldn't find "stomp/stomp" option, but other various combinations of "snap", "stomp" and "preset". I tried changing the other setting/knobs to see what I could achieve, but no luck. On that 2nd setting/knob option, if I select the "stomp/???" I see my top row of pre-assigned stomp effects I was expecting, and "???/stomp" I see the bottom row of pre-assigned stomps...but no "stomp/stomp" setting option to display both top/bottom rows! Note, I also tried a 2nd reset to factory / restore from backup but same results. So either I'm an idiot and forgot how I got all pre-assigned stops to display, or something changed going from 3.5 to 3.6. Thanks for any help in getting back to a "stomp/stomp" view that displays my pre-assigned button-to-stomp effects.
  8. Does anyone else have the issue of glitchy unreliable footswitches on the Helix? I've had two units The first had 4 unreliable foot switches after a month of use at home.. And after 6 months or so the joystick failed totally so the store got me a new unit. That one now has 2 unreliable footswitches... problably more to come. I'm really taking good care of the unit, so I'm left to think there is a general quality issue with these footswitches. However Line6 Support tells me otherwise: Hi there, sorry for the trouble with your Helix. The defective switch needs to be replaced by our service center. Therefore please contact your Line 6 reseller from where you've purchased the unit - or alternatively you have the option to contact our Danish service center directly: Highend Skjulhöjalle 57 Vanløse, 2720 +4538711114 info@highendmusik.dk We haven't received many requests regarding footswitch failures and the repair should solve the issue. Nonetheless I will pass along this information to the product teams, so they can look into it. Best regards xxxxx Technical Support Line 6 Support Europe And I don't really want to pay for repairs of a lollipop quality component, in an otherwise nice product.. Am I really one of few having this issue?
  9. as you know only 3 toggle switch in helix fx model. How many foot switch can you assign by external footswitch?
  10. So I have a problem setting up this dual setup with a exp pedal AND a momentary footswitch. Do anyone have any experience with this? I've tried with a Rockboard Y split cable, and a mission engineering exp pedal built for line6 pedals. Maybe i need to get another exp pedal, or cable?... Let me know!
  11. After struggling with this for a while myself I think I found a consistent and easy way to assign multiple blocks to a footswitch and easily bypass the ones I want bypassed when the footswitch is off with predictable results. This may seem obvious but the previous method I was using always seemed to leave me having to save and go back and play with the bypass states again to get the blocks I wanted coming on and off with the footswitch ring reflecting their state properly. PROCEDURE FOR ASSIGNING MULTIPLE BLOCKS TO A FOOTSWITCH Click the "MODE" footswitch to enter pedal view if you are not already there. Use the joystick to navigate to the block you want to assign to a footswitch. Now touch and hold the footswitch you want to assign to your block to. Do not click or tap the footswitch, just touch it gently and hold it like your favorite toy. After you hold it for a second the "Footswitch Assign" screen will pop up. Hit "OK" to assign the footswitch. Now use the joystick to navigate to the next block you want to assign and repeat step #3. Again, as long as you hold (keep your finger down without lifting) the footswitch rather than tapping it, the new block you are attempting to assign to the footswitch will stay selected and the "Footswitch Assign" screen will pop up. Now repeat step #4. You can repeat steps #2, #3, & #4 for up to 8 block assignments (at least as of this post). Finally, after all your chosen blocks are assigned. You can tap (touch and quickly lift off, don't click) the footswitch you have assigned everything to. Notice this time you are tapping, not touching and holding. Each time you tap the footswitch it will move to the next block that you have in your multiple assignment. Push bypass (or not) for each block assigned depending on whether you want if on or off when the footswitch is engaged. Once you have done this you will notice that you can tap your way through the blocks and the footswitch will light up or go dim according to each block's bypass state. Last but not least, if you want your preset to come up with your multiple assigned footswitch on, make sure that before you save it, you select (using the tap method in step #6) one of the blocks that is not bypassed on the multiple assignment. It does not matter which one of the blocks that is not bypassed you select. The opposite of course applies, if you want your preset to come up with the multiple footswitch dimmed and not selected, make sure you select any one of the blocks that is bypassed. Now save your preset or all your work is for naught! Sheesh, with all that tapping and touching and squeezing this post was starting to remind me of an old Journey tune.
  12. Hello community, I don't know if it's possible on Helix LT. If so, how can footswitch 1 bank up and footswitch 7 bank down be permanently lit, so that I can find them more easily when playing in a very dark place? Thank you in advance for your help. Cordially.
  13. I've figured out how to trigger snapshots, bypass blocks, volume pedal, etc using midi. But I can't figure out, if I download someone's Helix preset that has custom footswitch commands, can I trigger those footswitch commands with Midi in Helix Native at all? Or is this not an option? An example is someone has created a footswitch that turns the gain up on the amp block, or changes the mix level on a reverb.
  14. Hi, this is a little DIY project I built: It's a small Arduino based two button MIDI foot switch for the Helix HX Stomp. It is more flexible and more powerful than the "normal" foot switches connected via TRS cable and as a bonus you can still use an expression pedal hooked up to your HX Stomp. The MIDI Muppet HX can scroll through presets (normal mode) scroll through snapshots (snapshot mode) act as FS4/FS5 (fs mode) bring up the tuner (in any mode) To cycle through modes, press and hold the right (up) switch. To toggle the tuner, press and hold the left (dn) switch. If this is something you are interested in building please check out more information at https://github.com/mattzzw/midi_muppet_hx_2btn Other ideas are integrating tap tempo, looper control, ... Feedback and ideas are welcome! Cheers, /Matthias
  15. is there a firmware update coming, so you can switch the boost by the effect footswitch!!!!!!!!
  16. Here is a quick guide on assigning dual momentary footswitch options to your HX Stomp or HX Stomp XL using the external switch jack: Global Settings > Preferences > Page 2 will show EXP FS Tip and EXP FS Ring. These setting should be assigned to FS4/FS7 and FS5/FS8 accordingly. Next menu item over: Global Settings > Footswitches > FS4(FS7) Function, FS5(FS8) Function assignment on page 2. These can be assigned to different functions such as Stomp buttons OR Preset up and down. HX Stomp Controllers & Snapshots video
  17. Hi everyone. I wanna buy a footswitch FBV EXPRESS MKII, I know what with the buttons A to D change the effects banks, but i would use this footswitch with my spider V 30. My question is, With FBV EXPRESS can you select and unselect the integrated FX in the amp, in other words, active the reverb or distort?
  18. Hi everybody, I have a spider V, but i wanna buy any footswitch for it, and on the web I found some of second hand. I found: - Shortboard MK1 - Old floorboard - FBV express mk1 I believe those aren't incompatible with spider V, but these have the same connector what footswitch compatibles, Why are incompatible?
  19. Hi. I am using my HX effects unit to switch channels and FX loop on my Marshall DSL20 head. It has a TRS cable foot switch. The tip switches the channel and the ring switches the FX loop. I’ve successfully got it to do all the switching, however I’ve found the amp is expecting the reverse of the signal from the HX effects. Meaning that when the ring is NOT shorted to the sleeve, the FX loop is on, and when the tip is NOT shorted to the sleeve the ultra gain channel is on. This means the lights and logic on the HX effects are doing the reverse of what you’d expect based on the amp. Is there any way to reverse the logic of the ext amp outputs so that when I activate the switch the TRS cable is “un-shorted”, or alternatively to have an LED change colour instead of dimming when a switch is bypassed. Currently I’ve got it set up as snapshots to avoid the problem, but that’s a bit of a pain because I need 4 switches instead of 2 to cover all the combinations.
  20. Yo ! I recently bought Pod X3, the red bean version and I've been wondering if I can attach ANY footswitch or do I have to use Line 6 FBV ? Thanks from advance :3
  21. Really loving the HX Stomp so far. I'm looking to use the footswitches to control switches inside Ableton, and would like to setup bilateral communication. Does anyone know if the HX Stomp can receive midi so that the footswitches will light up if say a track mute is engaged/disengaged in the program? On the Ableton side of things I would likely be setting this up using control surfaces or max for live but at the moment it looks like I can't just send midi notes to the HX Stomp and expect anything to happen. Control Centre doesn't seem to have midi input, which makes sense since this is a fairly niche use case.
  22. Hi Is there any way to trigger a snapshot from the external footswitches? Thanks.
  23. Summary: try some lubricating contact cleaner before you replace the switches. I've just had a good experience fixing non-functional footswitch buttons on my Pod HD 500X. There are plenty of posts and even Youtube videos about this, but I have a couple of additional tips that might help someone. My FS1 and Bank Up footswitch buttons had gradually stopped stopped working. The design of these units is that the metal footswitch you press has a spring-loaded plunger that in turn activates a microswitch on the Pod circuit board. There are two long, horizontal printed circuit boards that carry the two rows of footswitches. You can see them here: https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/280562-line-6-50-02-0234-top-and-bottom-switch-pcb-assembly-for-hd500x It seems that the microswitches tend to stop working over time on these Pods and on other products across the L6 portfolio as they are commonly used behind footswitches. My Pod is out of warranty, so I was considering desoldering the individual microswitches and replacing them (possible and cheap but fiddly), or purchasing a replacement PCB (easier replacement but more expensive). Before I did that I tried using a lubricating contact cleaner and was pleasantly surprised that it has brought the buttons back to life. It was a cheap and easy fix. Please, if you try this, take electrical safety precautions and protect the device from electrostatic discharge from yourself. If you don't know what those things mean then don't open the Pod. Method 1 - tried and successful Start with the Pod facing downwards on your bench, so you are looking at the back of the device and can see the case screws with their ringed rubber feet. I opened up the Pod with the 8 case screws. I then removed the 12 small screws fixing the PCB carrying the affected micro switches to the metal switches. I carefully rotated the PCB so the microswitches were visible and applied a small amount of the contact cleaner (using the applicator straw) to the affected switches. Refixed everything. Tested and working. Method 2 - not tried but I think would be successful and easier As above but don't bother removing the PCB. Simply use the applicator straw on your contact cleaner spray and squirt "upwards" onto the microswitch. Give the switch a few pumps to work it in and get the Pod back the right way up quickly so gravity can help you. Method 3 - not tried and not sure it if would work but probably worth a go and would be the easiest Don't even open the Pod. Using the applicator straw, dribble contact cleaner down the shaft of the metal switch, where it would eventually reach the microswitch. Risk here is that you end up using excessive amounts, but probably a good option if you feel uncomfortable opening up the Pod and can't have Line 6 do the job for you. The switch cleaning lubricant I used was Servisol Super 10. There are others. Don't use a contact cleaner that does not contain a lubricant unless you want to be doing it again soon. Hope this helps save some Pods, DM
  24. I'm making the transition from the Boss GT-100 to the HD 500. One of the things I LOVED about the GT was its ability to switch patches and THEN toggle the individual effects on and off inside your new patch. Switch patch and then go into stompbox mode. Having trouble figuring out how to do that on the HD. From what I understand you have to be in ABCD mode to toggle between patches and 5-8 mode to toggle FX on and off. Is there a way to switch modes on the fly like on the Boss unit - change patch and then go into stompbox mode?
  25. Hey guys! I am looking to buy a Line 6 Spyder amp, but do not know what footswitch to buy along with it. Could someone send me a link for the correct footswitch for the 60 watt one?
