I bought my Spider V back in April and had nothing but trouble with it since. I have kept it up to date with the latest updates which cured my first problem with cabinet modelling switch. But now i am having more problems. -The built in effects for the reverb channel which intermittently cuts out on certain effects. -The sound, in that sometimes there is no sound coming out from the amp at all, both with the built in speakers (except drums/metronome), my cab, and my other guitarists cab. We spent 20-30 minutes last band practice trying to figure out what was causing the problem only for it to start randomly start working again how it was previously set up. This has happened twice now. -And the lack of power! It's 240watts, it should be enough to crumble the surrounding walls and cause all my band members hearing issues, yet my other guitarists 50watt Randall turned quarter way up sounds louder then the Spider V all the way up. Is anyone else having these problems and feel like they made a big mistake going for the Spider V?

Hi guys, newbie here. This morning I went to set it up and I only get sound while the pedal is in bypass mode. If I engage an effect then I get silence. Has anyone else had this issue? How solve this problem? Help 58356942212__BF6A224D-D56D-449C-8961-59B39F83BFE5.MOV

Hi there, this might sound like a silly question, but I'm having hard times figuring out how to have my click sound in ProTools that I can hear in my HX stomp. So far, the best I can do is to select Microsoft MIDI Mapper [emulated] > channel 1 as metronome output, but then I get the click on the computer speakers, not in my earphones (plugged on the stomp). If I select Line 6 HX Stomp [emulated] > channel 1, then I don't hear anything at all. Any hints? Thank you!

I've had my HX Stomp for a little over 5 months, and noticed something odd since first getting they it. The Presets on the HX Stomp sound noticeably better "after" I launch HX Edit on my PC. Initially, I thought it was because I was new to the Stomp, had a lot to learn, and was sorting out some other tone issues. I feel pretty comfortable with the Stomp now, and yesterday (after doing some mods on my guitar) I notice the problem again. The sound from the Stomp was not very good, and I initially thought I'd messed up some guitar wiring. But, the moment I launched HX Edit my "good" Preset sounds came back. Specifically, with HX Edit launched, my Stomp is louder, warmer, more dynamic and alive, and sounds like higher fidelity. I don't know why that happens. It's as if the HX Edit on my computer has updated/better information on it, and that information only gets sent to the Stomp after I turn on the HX Edit. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Do you you know what causes it and how to solve it? This phenomenon may account for some of the complaints that the HX Stomp doesn't sound good. It doesn't sound good until I turn my HX Edit on, and after I do it sounds totally awesome, as I've figured out how to dial in the sounds I like. Thanks in advance. System Information: Windows 10 Pro, latest HX Firmware 3.11 and HX Edit.

Hey guys, so I just recently started a band and we're kinda going into the direction of Midwest Emo with Pop Punk influences... I haven't been playing for long and I'm super inexperienced with tone, pedals, amps etc. so I'm just asking for some pointers, maybe someone knows some great already existing presets for the pod go? I'm also open to pay for presets if they're really good. I really wanna get a guitar tone that goes into the direction of bands like Modern Baseball, Mom Jeans, Tiny Moving Parts etc. I know these bands have kinda different guitar tones at times, but if you know the genre you'll get what I mean. I don't know if it helps but I have a Squier Telecaster with two wide range pickups and I usually lean more towards playing rhythm guitar, because I also sing (and I'm not f*ing Dylan Mattheisen ^^) Already saying thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to help me out here! :)

If you run the standalone app and don't get any audio output from your interface, the root cause is likely that your Mac is not allowing Metallurgy to use its mic. During the installation or upon launch of the Metallurgy standalone app, if prompted to allow Metallurgy to access the computer’s microphone, click OK. You can also manually edit this setting within the Mac’s System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab - Microphone settings.

If you are having trouble with your DL-4 MkII stompbox modeler, please try the following: - Use a different guitar, cables, and amp to make sure they are individually working correctly. - Remove all other pedals between your instrument and the amplifier. Ensure that: - The cables you are using to test work correctly by plugging directly from the instrument into the amplifier. - All jacks and nuts on the pedal are tight. - The unit is receiving sufficient power from the correct power supply (fresh batteries or a Line 6 DC-3g, DC-3h or DC-1g). Do not use old batteries to test pedals. - Reset the pedal by pressing the A and 'Tap' footswitches while inserting the power connector and powering on. Continue to hold the switches for approximately 8 seconds, until you see the green LEDs light up. - The last thing to try is to reinstall the firmware. Go to https://line6.com/software/index.html, choose "DL4 MkII" and "Firmware" from the menus, then follow the directions listed with the latest firmware entry. If you are still having difficulty you will need to have the unit repaired at an Authorized Service Center. All Line 6 Pedals carry a 12 month parts and labor warranty from the date of purchase from an Authorized Retailer. Please take a copy of the dated proof of purchase to ensure the warranty is covered. Hello Helix Community, Has anyone experienced a huge change in preset sounds after changing pickups in their guitars? I just had a Seymour Duncan JB installed in the bridge and a 59 in the neck of my PRS SE Custom 24. These replaced the originally 85/15s pickups which I thought were ok, but never satisfied with the sounds. I play lots of different styles from Steely Dan to Tool to Opeth to Porcupine Tree, so versatility is important for me. The clean sounds from these pups are amazing, didn’t know this guitar could sound so beautiful. But, any tones with gain or distortion sound absolutely terrible in every position. I usually only use the bridge for high gain and it sounds flat, harsh with no punch. Every preset with gain sounds the same no matter the amp model or different signal chain. Thanks so much for your help. Best regards, Derek

Hi All, recent Helix Stomp owner here and loving it so far. I’m using my helix as an ‘all in one’ desktop solution in my apartment as I can’t get away with a proper valve amp etc. My setup is Gibson SG / PRS 24 into helix, output to Presonus studio monitors (yes I have output set to line). My initial impression of the sound was that it’s a bit thin / tinny, not particularly full bodied or boomy. It’s not the speakers because I’ve previously used Bias Fx on my laptop through them and that can sound very fat. It’s ok for clean but I find lots of the distortion very high fizzy and thin rather than hitting you in the face, like a deep punching fuzz. I’ve read topics about global eq, double cabbing, pitch shift, high low cuts etc to beef up the sound. But to me it feels more like I’ve got a general setting wrong for my setup, rather than making nuanced tweaks? Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've been gifted an amp, and I don't think they were aware of its performance issues. Turn it on - board lights up, switches seem to do their job, and the tuner registers input. But there is no sound. No pop or crackle or hum that would tell me electricity is going to the speaker at all. Can tune though, so looks like the line is right. I've tried a factory reset, but wanted to check before I leaped into trying to figure out what fuses / tubes needed swapping. I have no experience in guitar tech, so don't want to flub it up based on my naught experience. I haven't opened it up yet, but would be interested in if it is straightforward knowing which tubes/fuses to replace. Thanks

Hello, I have a problem with a live line6 pod xt. For some time the sound has stopped coming out, neither in the headphones nor in the speaker. Obviously I don't know if the problem is outgoing or incoming. She turns on quietly. I have read that a 9v a.c power supply is used and that is what is used. I tried to open it to see if there was something missing, but to the eye everything looks ok. Some time ago my father sprayed the contact cleaner product inside the jack inputs. I am attaching the photos I took inside on the central plate. Hope someone who had the same problem can help me solve. Thanks so much everyone for the help.

This seems like a simple problem, but I haven't found any sufficient answers through my two hours of scouring the internet! Needless to say, it's driving me a little crazy. It was working just fine less than 24 hours ago! There is no sound whatsoever coming out of my speakers or headphones (each plugged in to the appropriate ports). Monkey is all updated; green checks everywhere. Output knob and phones knob are at maximum. Input/Output in Mac preferences is set for UX2. I've tried switching out usb cables and trying different ports. Tested headphones and speakers on other devices, they work. The only thing that changed was that I pulled out the usb cable and put it into a usb hub for a moment, then took it out and put it right back into the mac directly (I forgot, no hub with the UX2). Right after that, it stopped working correctly. Also, when I try to use logic pro X and gearbox, it doesn't register any sound coming from the mic, and when I try to play back something I recorded just a few days ago using the exact same settings, I get this message: Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI Sample Rate 23482 recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device. I use a mac with OSX 10.9.1, fully updated. The UX2 has power, the meters are at min and don't move, and the clip lights seem to be stuck on to orange.

Hi. I found some issues in my Line 6 Spider 240HC amp that probably have other discussions opened, but i decided to record them. https://youtu.be/67unAeUulCA In the first one, the display flashes when it's turned off. https://youtu.be/477VH-TT4W8 That sound happens when i turn off the amp. That happens sometimes using different IEC cables. https://youtu.be/Fy6RwlY-xHk This problem started when i changed my IEC cable too. Sorry for the sound quality, there is a clicking sound when i activate the reverb. I though the it could be caused by the cable, but they are universal and i guess that it could be produced by digital issues. I really like this amp but it's difficult to play a gig calmed with that kind of problems. Is anyone having these problems? Sorry for my english.

Hello, I've recently bought a Flextone III XL and I'm pretty disapointed. I have the same problem detailed in this old post (I don't know why Line 6 locked all topics) http://line6.com/support/message/476712 In my case, volume changes coicide when the light of the channel turns off (both in the floorboard and in the amp). Can it be caused by a digital issue? I know lots of people had the same problem with this amp. Does anybody knows how to fix it? Technical support is very very far away from my home. I can't belive Line 6 don't tell me anything but "take it to the technical support". For what I've seen this is a typical issue of this amp. I would apreciate any help you could give me.

hi, I updated drivers of Line6 UX2 and everything seems to work fine but whenever I hit the play button or try to record something I hear a tiny continuos 'beeeeeeep' on my phones that only stops if I close the application (i.e. garageband, youtube, spotify). I don't know if I need to change my phones or if the phones output is dirty and need some cleaning, and if it does... how do I clean it up?, I need that 'beeeeep' to stop for the sake of my mixes and any audio reproduction of any kind and any application in my computer that uses UX2 as 'default' audio output. Can someone help me with these please?, maybe a Line6 expert or someone that went through something similar and solved it?. thanks!!

Setup my HD500 on a new Windows 10 PC today and all was good for about an hour, then all of a sudden the left speaker went out and a few seconds later the right went out. I thought I just moved the cables or something - had me thinking I ruined my new sound card too... absolutely all sound from my PC vanished - restarting and cycling through the different configurations and testing each jack solved nothing. Long story short I had HD 500 Edit open and connected the whole time and Windows decided to make "HD 500 Speakers" my default output device and refused to come off it, until I unplugged the USB cable from the HD500. I know this unit has a usb sound card built in, but it's never done this before. I like being able edit patches on my PC, while jamming to tracks on my PC, with the analog outputs plugged into my PC, and all audio coming from the PC speakers. thoughts?

Hi there, are you tired about discussing different speakermodels for the Flextone III amps ? So let me tell you how to get a much more brillant and crisp sound from your Flextone3 in three easy steps without a speaker change. After unplugging the mains cord and disconnecting the speaker cables remove the Amp Chassis with the 4 large screws on top and the 4 small screws for the handle. 1) For those who won´t solder on SMD devices but are aware of tubeamp modifications : Solder 2 pcs of 4,7nF film cap across the In- and the Output pins ( bottomview right and middle) on both of the stacked stereo Mastervolume Pot (B 10k) , like the "bypass" caps for higher frequencies on Volume Pots in guitars or in valve amps. Seen from above on the back : these are the right and the middle pins of the double pot ! So you will have much more over all brillance and treble also at lower power settings without changing the speaker. Check first with a Clean amp modell like the DOUBLE VERB with its 2x12 emulation. If you ever have tried such an analog beast you will find it now -with the same attitude - here in the Flextone3. And all at neutral 12 o´clock settings on the EQ pots. After that try chrunch and High Gain emulations. 2) For those who will try additional mods : Remove the very very small capacitor signed as "C4" from the board with a small solder pen ! If you are not aware in soldering on SMD devices please take care and better take the board to the next electronic technician or to a radio shop with educated personell. Its all at your own risc !!! These small capacitor( 47pf ) works together with the L1 ( SMD inductance) as a trap for high frequency EMC trouble. Under normal circumstances you will not need it. And - unfortunatly - the 47pf cuts all the highest frequencies from your guitar signal like a bad guitar cable ! by the way....you´ll never see such a capacitor e.g. in a high class tube guitar amps in the first stage. So, if there are no high frequencies from the strings .......the amplifier cannot amplify such details. And the sound will not be so bright, not so clear or crisp .....or what ever words you will use. But, if you like an open Tubeamp sound remove the C4 and you will be very happy with the improved sound. These mods should also work in HD147 ´s , because they use the same technology inside as the Flextone III. A few words to the Line6 developers : I know the reasons well for building in the C4/L1 into the amps. Its because the CE and US trade specifications ! But for a musician it sounds much better without these absorption circuits. ;-) Thanks for this great Amp !!!!!! cheers Peter from Germany

Hello Hello; Okay; I wrote music for my 1st album; the guitar sounds were dialled in by a producer in a studio. the album is finished. I m trying to recreate the sound with the helix lt for my I've setup. I spend some time with the helix; i love it; but i don t get it to sound right. I m posting 2 small sound files of the rhythm guitar sound, which i want to recreate; it s basically verse and chorus. The guitar tuning is weird. E , A and D strings (the deep ones) are tuned down 3 half steps - the chords are then all standard power chords played on these 3 strings starting on the 8 th fret and descending down. If anyone wants to give it a try, i d be super thankful. Hope this fits in this forum here. Thaaaaank you so much guitar_chorus_1.mp3 (the rhythm part, not the strumed chords) guitar_verse_1.mp3

I'm looking at buying a Firehawk FX. However, I'd really like to be able to use some patches that were made for the Pod HD500x. Is this possible? If not this is going to make my decision between the Firehawk and Pod very difficult.

Hi all, hope you're well. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me please. I'm having difficulties setting up a NT1-A condenser mic through a UX1. I've read through several old posts on this forum but can't seem to find the answer I need. The issue is the volume level from the mic; it's barely audible. The NT1-A is plugged in to the input channel of a Neewer 48V phantom power supply (power into mains), with the output going into the mic input of the UX1. The UX1 is plugged in via USB with the output settings set to 'built-in output' via Garageband on a MacBook Pro, coming through to my headphones. I've cranked the mic gain on the UX1 up to max, pushed the track volume up to max in Garageband and 'Mic 1' input is selected on the mixer in Podfarm. I can mostly hear a quiet, soft hissing noise (presumably the high gain setting) but when I go to record I can hear my voice quietly underneath, so seemingly the mic is on and registering. I've tried clicking the +18db boost on the input channels in the mixer in pod farm, which increase the volume of the hissing and makes things a little louder but something's clearly wrong. I've been recording guitar using Podfarm without trouble, so presumably I'm missing something as I believe other people have managed to get condensers with phantom power working fine? I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how I can fix this,, thank you!

Francais. Deutsch. If you are having trouble with your Line 6 amplifier, please check the following points before taking your amplifier to your local Authorized Service Center: Q: I am noticing that I am getting volume/tone changes when playing at a high volume? A: Try "parking" the knobs (except master volume) at 100% to ensure that the knobs are not moving to the "current" location rather than the preset location. Recall a preset once the knobs are parked to ensure the tone you are working with is a preset rather than the current knob position. Q: My master volume has almost no change past 6? A: This is due to the volume pot installed on all Line 6 amplifiers. A solution to this would be to replace it with an "audio" pot, but this modification wouldn't make it louder - just smoother. Line 6 originally installed audio pots on the AXSYS, but players didn't like them because they made the amp feel "wimpy". Players also did not like the fact that they had to turn the amp up to about 4-5 before it would start "happening" and 7-8 on the gig. Even though there was still a good amount of headroom, player feedback was that they preferred the amplifier with the traditional volume pot, so that is the style used with Line 6 amplifiers. - Perform a factory reset of the unit: Factory Reset Procedures Volume and Signal Troubleshooting - turn off other volume controls not being used (i.e. volume trim pots) - Ensure there is no debris in the CAT-5 or input jacks. - Unplug all other units from the audio chain, as well as any CAT-5 cables and controllers. - Use a high-quality cable you know is functional (i.e. works in a different application) directly into the instrument input, bypassing all other effect units. - Ensure that the guitar/bass is outputting signal. Try the amplifier with another instrument you know is functional (if possible).Make sure all the input and output jacks are tight. Check the instrument with different pickup settings to make sure it is not a bad pickup connection. - Ensure that both the positive (white) and negative (black or red) wires are fully connected to the speaker, and that the speaker output from the amplifier is plugged into the correct jack (when applicable). - Check the effects loop (if the amp has one). If you're not getting any signal, try plugging into the RETURN side of the loop to see if there is any output. Likewise, with a source feeding the input, plug the SEND into another line level device to see if you're getting signal. Tone and Rattle Troubleshooting - Check the make sure all buttons on the unit are not stuck - Be sure that all screws on the unit (handle, corners, baffle boards, speakers) are snug. - Ensure that there are no foreign objects (i.e. silicon packs) stuck in the speaker enclosures Q: Are the tone controls on the on a Line 6 amplifier passive or active, and where is the "flat" level? A: Each amp model is different, and the controls behaves like the target amp. Most tube amplifiers will have a passive tone stack with makeup gain. Line 6 tone stacks are designed to behave just like the modeled amp (both the good and the not so good). Some amplifier tone stacks are the closest to flat when set B-0, M-10, T-0, but it is different for each model. Power Troubleshooting - Ensure that there is sufficient power coming from the power outlet into the amplifier. Try a different circuit to ensure there is not a power issue at the outlet. - Make sure that the both ends of the power cable are snug in their sockets. Tube Amplifiers Troubleshooting - Make sure the tube is firmly seated in the tube socket. - If the tube(s) make a popping sound accompanied by intermittent light from tubes, the tube is failing and needs to be replaced. - If there is "white frost" inside the tube, the tube has cracked and it must be replaced. - If there is a "tube" ringing (not due to loose screws), there may be a failing tube. Replace the 12AX7s individually and the matched 6L6 pairs to determine if a tube has failed. Replacing Tubes - Always replace power amp tubes with matched set(s) every 12-24 months depending on the amount of use, and have the bias checked and/or adjusted by an authorized Line 6 Service Center. - Preamp tubes (such as the two 12AX7s) only need to be replaced when they are microphonic (ringing sound from tubes when tapped), noisy, or damaged. Replacing tubes should be done a Line 6 authorized service center. The digital stage and analog tube stages communicate with one another, and so are not like the all analog tube (valve) amps from the 1960's and 70's. As a result, one cannot swap tubes out like in the old days. So please use the following specified tubes (valves) when the amp is taken to a service center. For Spider Valve series amps use the following specified tubes, 12AX7B China for pre-amps. 5881WXT Sovtek (matched pair), with the base cup bottom. 5881WXT Sovtek (matched quartet), with the base cup bottom for the HD-100 and HD100 MkII. For the Alchemist series amps use the following specified tubes, 12AX7EH Electro-Harmonix low microphonic for V1-3 pre-amp positions. 12AX7AC5HG Ruby Tube HG-High Gain for V4. 12AX7B China for V5. 6L6GCMSTR Ruby Tube (matched pair) power amp. For the DT50 series amps use the following specified tubes, 12AX7EH Electro-Harmonix approved for the DT50 pre-amps. EL34EH Electro-Harmonix (matched pairs) for the power amps. For the DT25 series amps use the following specified tubes, 12AX7EH Electro-Harmonix approved for the DT25 pre-amps. EL84EH Electro-Harmonix (matched pairs) for the power amps. Visit your local Line 6 Service Center for servicing a tube amp, as these have High Voltage Shock Hazards. Produktreparatur

I was recording on my Pod hd pro x yesterday on my guitar(as i have countless of time before). Suddenly today it stops working. The device turns on and I can hear sound from my computer, but it won't get any signal from my guitar. Not even the tuner. I checked my guitar and the wires. I have no idea what happened or changed. I would really appreciate some direction.
