Hi all, I've problems getting the AMP/PREAMP and CABs to work nicely with physical amps when I play somewhere. The sounds just doesn't sound right and I'm not sure if the 4 cable method is doing a much better job. Also I find it too cumbersome to setup; I want to plug my Pod Go in an amp and be done with it. So I'm basically only using the effects. However for some reason the CAB/AMP always need to be in the signal chain, even when I switch them off. Would it be possible to remove them so the freed up CPU cycles could be used for an extra effect? -
The "Effect" option and the entire LFS2 footswitch is a latching footswitch with LED lights. This allows you to turn on the effects and make channels changes. The LED will correspond with the effect being on or off. If you're switching channels, this overrides the effect option in the saved preset. Even though the saved preset might have the effect turned to the "OFF" position, this will still appear as ON with the footswitch. This is why you may not getting certain settings as "Saved" when you have the LFS2 pedal connected. Since the pedal is overriding the saved preset default settings. This is normal behavior for the LFS2 latching footswitch. The footswitch options correspond with the LED lights. You can save it correctly with the LFS2 disconnected, or with the Catalyst Edit software. If you see the lettering at the top of Catalyst edit as RED, this means the preset is changed. TAN lettering would mean its saved and hasn't been changed.

I have an problem. I played for years with hx stomp live, connecting it with a poweramp, and running it through a cab. Had no problems. But now i bought a Marshall JVM410h and wanted to connect it with hx stomp with 4cbl method. And i get a exesive hiss. Even when i connect it just in front of the amp. But when i put it in analog bypass the hissing stops. How to solve this. Heres a video i recorded.

I know that is not what it was initially designed for but… With the HX stomp getting command center and 8 blocks in the most recent updates Is there any reason why the HX FX couldn’t get the amp models?

Hi All, I have a problem regarding the integration of my HX Stomp XL into the FX Loop of my ENGL Fireball: I connect using 4CM: Guitar -> Stomp Input L / MONO -> Stomp Output L / MONO -> Fireball Input (Preamp) -> Fireball FX Send -> Stomp Return L / Mono -> Stomp Send -> Fireball FX Return -> Fireball Speaker Out -> Speaker The Fireballs FX Loop Knop is turned fully to the right (100% Wet FX Loop). Noise Gate at 12 o'clock. Now any time I try out an 4CM Preset of the stomp or create my own preset including an FX Loop block I get a high pitching continuous sound from my amp / box which does not sound healthy at all. It is really squeeling and not the typical noise. Sounds much more artifical an constant. Would be very happy if you could help me with your experience as under the current described circumstances I cannot use the Stomp with the ENGL which really is a pitty. Thank you so much! If you are having trouble with your DL-4 MkII stompbox modeler, please try the following: - Use a different guitar, cables, and amp to make sure they are individually working correctly. - Remove all other pedals between your instrument and the amplifier. Ensure that: - The cables you are using to test work correctly by plugging directly from the instrument into the amplifier. - All jacks and nuts on the pedal are tight. - The unit is receiving sufficient power from the correct power supply (fresh batteries or a Line 6 DC-3g, DC-3h or DC-1g). Do not use old batteries to test pedals. - Reset the pedal by pressing the A and 'Tap' footswitches while inserting the power connector and powering on. Continue to hold the switches for approximately 8 seconds, until you see the green LEDs light up. - The last thing to try is to reinstall the firmware. Go to https://line6.com/software/index.html, choose "DL4 MkII" and "Firmware" from the menus, then follow the directions listed with the latest firmware entry. If you are still having difficulty you will need to have the unit repaired at an Authorized Service Center. Hi. I am using my HX effects unit to switch channels and FX loop on my Marshall DSL20 head. It has a TRS cable foot switch. The tip switches the channel and the ring switches the FX loop. I’ve successfully got it to do all the switching, however I’ve found the amp is expecting the reverse of the signal from the HX effects. Meaning that when the ring is NOT shorted to the sleeve, the FX loop is on, and when the tip is NOT shorted to the sleeve the ultra gain channel is on. This means the lights and logic on the HX effects are doing the reverse of what you’d expect based on the amp. Is there any way to reverse the logic of the ext amp outputs so that when I activate the switch the TRS cable is “un-shorted”, or alternatively to have an LED change colour instead of dimming when a switch is bypassed. Currently I’ve got it set up as snapshots to avoid the problem, but that’s a bit of a pain because I need 4 switches instead of 2 to cover all the combinations.

Hi everyone, here's a question that get asked probably a lot. Sorry. Basically i've been using the pod go with headphone in my bedroom for the longest time. That's all I have (I have guitars aswell eh ) I'm trying to join a band but the place where they rehearse is pretty much an empty room (I've been told there's only a mixing table) I know nothing about equipements, but I suppose a mixing table implies that there are speakers in the room with it ? Anyway I'm in desperate need to buy equipement fast to be able to play with them. I think that in the future I want to stay with the whole amp modeling technology and probably do not wish to get myself a full amp stack. So what could I buy to be able to play with a band ? I've read of FRFR speaker like the headrush, but from what I've seen it's mixed review: some people swear by it, and for some it's only good to be able to hear yourself ( like to point it towards you). I've also seen the line 6 powercab, but it's a bit expensive.. I've never done any gig, i've never done any research into amp/cab and all that part of guitar playing, as i'm in appartement. I'm very much a noob into it, but I need to buy something fast. All I know is the marshall stack I see on stage lol. Any recommendation ? a speaker that can make myself heard with a band in a room. I play with a distortion and gain, and usually metal if that helps. I'd like to go no more than 600euros ( 700 dollars) if possible. Cheers!!

Hello to all, I'm running my stomp into my SS amp's return mono ( it's a 2X12 8240 stereo Marshall). the problem is that only one speaker works. The patch is one mono amp ( no cab). so I tried to go in the FX stereo (LEFT AND RIGHT) return of the amp. still, only one speaker works. The patch I'm using is mono. ---------------------- If I go with the guitar to amp's input, both speakers work ---------------------- what am I doing wrong? Is the problem coming from the stomp or patch? or is it because of my SS amp? TNX

Hey all, So I posted a video on my Youtube Channel showcasing 5 different high amps in the HX stomp So for all the presets, I start off with either a Hedgehog 9, a Super Overdrive or an Mintour. THe hedgehog 9 does the best job in tigthening the low end. For the Cabs, I have fallen in love with using two cabs - for all the sounds and tones in this video they are pretty much Celestion V30 Orange 2x12 IR mixed with an Orange Creamback 2 x 12 or something else. at the end of my chain, I always add a legacy room reverb, for that room ambience :) Most of these amps are on stock settings :O. With the Cali Mark IV Lead, Both Gains are on 9, Bass is 0 (have a play with going up to 2 as I have it set on 2 for lead) Mid is on 5 and Treble is 7. Then its the classic V setting which I am always fiddling with depending on my mood. Some of this info isn't in the video (like the settings on the Mark IV) Anyways here's a link:

Hi all, In the user guide I was looking at what models each pod go amp/pedal is based on and noticed that some are shaded with a lighter shade of their given colour, others a sharker shade. What does this denote? Thanks all.

Can anyone here confirm if the amp models in the plugin POD Farm Platinum are the same as the ones that could be found in the POD HD500X or POD HD PRO X with the add-on model packs? Trying to figure out if the plugin or the hardware is the more reasonable purchase for myself. Thanks! -
I recently just got into guitar and bought the Spider IV 15W amp. I tried to plug in my cord and no sound was coming out. I then noticed the only way the amp would work is if I put pressure on the cord into the jack. However once I let go it goes back to not working. Is there anyway I can fix this or should I look to return it?

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my HX Stomp. I bought it 6 months ago and been using it as both audio interface or plugged into my scarlett ever since. I'm really satisified. Lately, I decided to use it as an effect stomp in front of a tube amp (effects only, no amp or IRs) or straight into the PA. All I got from these two scenarios was disturbing noise and no sound. The routing signal has always been: guitar - jack cable - Hx stomp - jack cable coming out of the L/mono main output - Amp or PA. Nothing worked. Needless to say, I checked all the cables I used and they're all good, I used 4 different amps, 3 PAs. Has anyone ever experienced something similar? PS: as audio interface or in front of my Scarlett (L/mono output to interface preamp) works very well. Thanks so much! Love to all

Hi there, since a few months now, I'm using my HX stomp and I love it. Yet, I'm still unsure in what speaker I should plug my new baby in. I have a Spider Jam which doesn't have any FX loop so it's a no as it is hard to have a neutral sound on this. And I have my drums amp (a Roland PM-10), which is so far the amp I'm using through the line input :-) I play mostly at home, and I'd like to have the best sound of my pedal at home, and since it has built-in amp & cabinet simulations, my understanding is that the most neutral speaker ("PA" ?) should be used, rather than a fancy amp with its own personality. I don't know how neutral my PM-10 can be, and I'm not familiar with the PA thing, so can you tell me what kind of speaker can I use to have something which doesn't level down my HX stomp ? I'd like to have get a speaker at a reasonable price, and which takes a reasonable amount of space :-) Many thanks

I was looking for recommendations or tips about how to get the most out of my Helix LT, keeping in mind I am not a professional musician. I have my Helix LT and I have it plugged in directly into the instrument input of a Boss Katana 100 amp. I want to get the best sound possible out of my Helix so would I be better suited to buy a PA speaker of some kind like the HeadRush or something to that affect or better speakers directly into my PC and bypass the amp all together? Or would anything not really make a significant difference compared to what I am already doing?

Hello, I'm having trouble getting the sound I was hoping for on the Helix, and I need some help. I'm sure it's my lack of experience with gear and effects that's the problem, not the Helix. I watched all the Jason Sadites videos and regularly read through this forum, and I do seem to be SLOWLY getting closer, but I also wonder if there is not something more fundamental wrong with my setup or settings - like guitar, monitor speakers, amp choice, etc. Here's how I'd describe the sound I'm going for: Warm, smooth, thick, rich clean tone, with some reverb/spaciousness, and a little overdrive to give it a soaring quality. I tend to prefer smoothness and warmth to pinpoint clarity and accuracy, and I definitely don't like twangy sounds. - My guitar. I have an American Elite Strat. It's great, but the single coils are probably at odds with my tonal goals. I use the neck pickup exclusively, but want it to be even more "neck-pickup-like" if that makes sense. The bridge pickups sound unusably harsh and twangy to my ears through the Helix. - I have monitor speakers connected to the Helix as my "amp". Yamaha HS7's - they are nice monitors, but possibly not as guitar "amp" and this may be part of the problem. - Over headphones, I get closer to the sound I'm looking for. Things sound spacious and rich in comparison to the monitor speaker setup. - I get a harsh digital sounding tone anytime I use a delay block. This is not as important as the main tone issue, but it is pretty pronounced, and maybe this gives a clue to what's going on. Weirdly, ping pong delay is the only one I've found that doesn't have this problem as bad. - The sound was way too harsh and digital sounding until I turned on the global EQ and dialed down the high cut to a low level, around 5kHz - Using ribbon mic's on the cabinets helps immensely as well. I've not otherwise messed with trying different cabs or cab settings... - I've experimented with different amp models, and some work better than others, but the base fenders work the best: US Double vib/nrm. - Before Helix, I used a Yamaha THR10C, and found the chorus effect to give that smooth rich sound. (it doesn't actually sound like a chorus, and I only mention this in case anyone has experience with this) Appreciate the help!! Hi, wondered if anyone had any suggestions. So I'm using the HX effects for bass into a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes 500 amp. The amp has an intelligent footswitch for going between clean, vintage microtubes circuit, B3K circuit, and mute (4 buttons). When trying to use an effects loop on the HX effects through the loop send/return on the amp, it is bypassing the footswitch somehow, so I can't change between the onboard distortions or mute the amp. This doesn't happen with 2 cable method (no loop) and didn't happen using individual effects in the loop... any ideas?

Hi Guys. I've bougt my new HELIX and moving my first steps to learn and use it! I am interested in using it with my Hughes and Kettner Grandmaister 36, in particular connecting Helix to amp's FX Loop return, so using my tube amp only as power amp. The question is not about other ways to connect… I know the 4CM, I know connection in front of amp…I know that everyone has his own preferences….but my necessity is to connect in the amp's fx loop return. OK… I've a simple question, becouse I've read tons of articles, posts, spent hours on YouTube videos… but without finding the answer :) If I connect from HELIX 1/4 mono out to amp's FX Loop return,.....what should I select in global settings INS/OUTS? Instrument or Line? Thanks for your attention and feedbacks!

One of my idiot sons friend thought it would be a wonderful ideal to take my marshall head speakers out and plug directly into my spiders guitar inputs. Naturally blowing the spider amp sky high. Anybody can guide me into which board i should be looking at. Opened amp up and to my surprise they are only a couple of boards in amp. Man any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm considering purchasing an HX stomp and know that it can do some of the scenarios I want to use with it but I'm not sure about this one. I could figure this out myself in a couple seconds if I owned the pedal but I'm trying to decide if this is possibly before I make the purchase. TLDR: Can you run an amp/cab block on one side of a signal chain only and allow the other to go out unprocessed. The point would be to run a stereo rig with a real amp on one side and a modeled amp on the other. I know that I can do this if I run my entire pedalboard as it exists into the HX stomp acting just as Amps - then I could plug one pedalboard output into the Stomp and one into my amp. Easy. However, I really want the HX stomp to be fully integrated with my pedalboard. I want to run my signal chain as Guitar > Comp > Drive Pedals > HX Stomp > Stomp FX Loop Send > Stereo Delay > Stereo Reverb > Stomp FX Loop Return > Pedalboard out If I do this it lets me add additional effects before or after my delay/reverb or put my delay/reverb after the amp sims if I'm running direct. It also lets me make patches with no amps to run my pedalboard into real amps. However, there is a specific use where I want to run a single real amp and a modeled amp as the other side of the stereo chain. Can I do this within the editor/interface? I would need to put an amp block on the right side signal only. Hello, So my main option for now is to use the HX Stomp as another pedal in my pedalboard (mainly for modulation effects like delay, reverb, tremolo, etc..). I have some questions about the overdrive section. How good or which OD in the HX Stomp sounds good when using a tube amp?.. Im gonna upload a photo of my pedalboard for reference. My other question is... Im using a Tumnus mini and I would like to know if its a good idea to usa a booster from the HX Stomp or buy an analog booster?. Im using a Fender Blues Deluxe Tube Amp and the HXS is connected with the 4CM so I can put my modulations through the amp's effects loop.
